What's working:
Everything I've tested seems to be working aside from a few bugs:
EFS does not appear on backup menu
Super partition appears twice on backup menu
Battery percentage does not appear

When you go to the Edge forum you will see that there is LineageOS 17.1 available for the Edge with a TWRP release.....

The Dev I donated a Edge 5G , he is our TWRP Guru/Guinus, as he build ROMs as well. The other thing you guys have to understand, now we have 3-4 Devs with device, and (1) Dev who is soooooo God Dam good, he don't even need a device, don't wanna mention a name if you knon this side of Android, the Motorola Side, Mr. V is very very well know within the Dev community. I swear he has to code and program with his eyes closed. Watching this guy at work on a machine without the device he is is developing, eyes closed is like watching the 17th chapel get painted; imagine that there s classical music in the background....halfway through the 3rd Track ROM completed.... This guy I think is part machine....you Animal! Or Cow if you prefer....

Sorry, I no longer own this device. I had a green screen issue and returned it shortly after I made this. I've posted the sources I've used if anyone else wants to work on this.

I have tried that one as well. It doesn't work. I'm not sure if it is based off of racer and they just changed it to Burton? I've tried it.
Actually I just went to the link and there are a bunch of TWRP. Last time I checked in lolinet there was only one there. Maybe I will try it. Maybe someone has been working on it

I'm shocked that there is not more development made for this device. I would like tinker a bit and try to build a LOS rom for it. How did you manage to fill the android_device_motorola_burton config files? LOS documentation on building for unsupported devices is kinda made for supported devices with existing device specific configuration and kernel sections.
Well, this recovery is looping on Android 12. So, if updated to Android 12, there is not working twrp?
Yeah, the bootloop is caused by avc denials and the file, crash_dump, not being found by the system, and sadly Android 12 isn't officially supported by TWRP.

No. The roms worked fine back in the day. It's just maybe cuz they sat on server for so long. I remember att Max rom worked fine...but after installing it from androidilehost it didnt

The zip is compressed. If I build full image (img), I will get 950mb for system and 24mb for kernel. You can send me a PM about the ROM development.

Okay, so I just Installed Rom and Gaaps:good: had absolutely no problems during install whatsoever, everything is very snappy systemwise , something Ive not experienced lately, and thats nice:good:
In the beginning it came with a pop up saying "gallery crashed" or something like that, but it stops when you open gallery first time and give permissions.:good:
As you say in first post editing quick tiles crashes system and force reboot. I experience this too.

Try flashing Magisk v14 it requires less boot space. I installed magisk v14 + xposed without a problem.
After testing the ROM for a bit I notice everything seems to work faster than LO 13, it could be because I didn't install many apps. I can't wait for it to become stable, great work. :good:
Although I experienced few issues:
1. Gallery app keeps crashing until you open it.
2. Adding fingerprint is quite difficult. The progress kept resetting when I tried to add it, but eventually I managed to add it. Afterwards I could unlock my phone without a problem.
3. Stock browser is buggy. Firstly, it is quite slow compared to chrome. Also, whenever I tried to download and install any apk file, I couldn't open the file. The file downloaded with chrome worked perfectly.
Also, boot is too small for the newest magisk, but v14 works just fine. Is it possible to decrease boot image size or increase boot partition size with gparted or something similar?

The codebase was obsolete (already in CM13). They didn't want to spend their time on it.

This would make your rom really stand out against the others
It’s the one feature that let’s me stay on official firmware, although its soooo slow

As soon as I rebooted after installing this ROM, it was very slow. And BTW for me the S-Pen has the same problem as the Lineage OS one. The UI was Sluggish, and would hang a lot. And when I installed Magisk and installed V4A it would only reboot once I gave the password. It is in that loop since. The camera also crashes and so does the Fingerprint. Very Sad to say that I had to go back to The Tweaked Stock ROM.

I had formatted everything before install and I can't download OpenGapps for some reason
Any Hope of reviving this? It has potential.
How stable was it? I can compile it based on the latest sources since there was a manifest
i installed it with magisk & without gapps
it worked fine i use it only with youtube vanced ...lasted 14hrs on single charge

You could use a gps.conf from https://app.box.com/s/w57s1v1n3hie7l5lk28i for your location and replace /system/etc/gps.conf.
Or you try GPS Server Optimizer app for a faster 3D fix.

I'm testing it since yesterday and I have to say I'm really satisfied,
as soon as I have fixed the camera's, mobile data and the acceleration sensor, this ROM should be great.

Sounds good! Looking forward to try it out. And I hope there will be enough people left with these devices to be able to use your build.
Btw, did you have any use of the old marshmallow for it? Played a bit with it yesterday and it seems realy stable! The only thing that puts me off there is the small font.. There are of course ways to increase the size with some apps, but they are usually limited...
So, i hope there are usual ways to make the font bigger in your build for us elderly..

Nope ,
never tried this, you can set the font size as it should be in LOS, just try it if it's big enough .

Yes all my issues after the first boot are resolved, now I have to test further and I will today,
maybe there will be an OTA update or not, we will see .

I hope too, this device makes fun so far, small, but not too small, you can easily put it in your pocket .

Fixed Bluetooth voice call audio
Included an open source audio HAL and configured it for these devices, in future we won't need the old audio blob.
Temporarily disabled hw overlay's.
Update is via OTA available.

Hi, where are the sources? In your github page, there aren't. I'm just curious to see what you have done, and in that way, I could fix something more in the other Tab 4 models that I maintain.

Managed install it finally! Have to give a tip to people that are going to do that - the latest TWRP can not mount the whole /data and format it if you have encryption. In that case you have to downgrade to the old 3.0.X TWRP first, and then go back to the latest TWRP to flash LOS16. Took me a while to find the solution for this
Writing this review on the t235, connected to a bt keyboard after the last OTA update..
Really good job! Everything seems to be working. And i can get bigger fonts! After the last update even bt works, which was important for me. The only bigger thing i haven't tested is mobile data.
And it's not that it's huge, but i am experiencing some microlags. Perhaps not surprising considering it's age and that it wasn't really a flagship device already when it was released..

This is normal, but you should be able to wipe the whole data partition.

If you're my only user, not , but everybody could use my sources and build /e/ out of it,
it actually should work out of the box.

Fixed menu button configuration in settings
Made some RAM optimizations and tweaks
Made an Android go config
Removed unneeded button light and LED code, this device doesn't have any of them
Created many selinux labels, so we could switch it to enforcing in the future

i compiled TWRP 3.7.0-11.0 for A310F, anybody wanna test? it's still in a testing stage
Tried to upgrade a3 from 19 to 20. But stuck in twrp updating. Flashed IMG file too recovery partition. Then tried to reboot into recovery.
From that point I only see Samsung logo boot screen. Any long press button combo just vibrates and reboots that screen.
Any idea to debrick?

Did you try this one?
It should work to get into the download mode, try to press the button combination as long as needed,
it also could help to attach the usb charger to switch it off..
Then unplug it and give it another try to boot into the download mode and reflash a working TWRP.

what recovery did you flash after twrp? LOS 20.0 recovery? if did, please reflash twrp 3.6.2 and attempt a clean install

So. Dirty upgrade worked. Signature spoofing not yet.
What sensors are to test?
Edit: all Sensors I tested work. Signature spoofing is only for system apps. Minmicrog CLI works.
How's performance? There's no way Android 13 is actually usable. How bad is performance with gapps?? This ****'s insane, once audio works I'll give this a shot. Keep up the good work!

performance is the same like on android 12, i didn't test with gapps

It could be that you will face a bootloop but idk.
But if you confirm that the normal build has working sensors, I'm already happy.

So they have identical file names? Only the test build is a few kilobytes larger.
No boot loop. Just stuck in boot animation for 10 minutes now. (Dirty flashed test over normal 20.0)

Thanks, that's what I feared, but if you can confirm again, that really all sensors are working with the other build,
I'm happy.
