I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 (SM-T800). I currently have CyanogenMod 12 installed, but i want to go back to my stock firmware.
when i search my device on the SamMobile firmware site, it gives a bunch of firmwares for different countries, but it does not give one for the United States, where i am living
Does it matter which firmware i use? Will i still receive OTA updates if i choose a random firmware?

Click to collapse
Does it matter which firmware i use? - it does, don't flash wrong firmware, or you will soft-brick your tablet
if you still have orginal box or receipt, it should says something like this;
PDA: T800XXU1ANH1
CSC: T800UVS1ANG2
MODEM: T800XXU1ANH1
Notice the H1, G2, H1 at ends....which defines which country code region tablet belongs to..
Just give you an idea, for example my Galaxy TabPro 8.4 WiFI has "T320UEU1ANG1", which I bought it here in USA (bestbuy), and if I check sammobile, it shows as Cellular south, so means that's my offical firmware for my tablet that come with it.
So in your case, I believe yours is T800XXU1ANK1
Hi,
I have a Samsung Galaxy C5 and its CSC number is C5000ZHU1AQC5. It is Hong Kong version. My android version is 6.0.1, and I want to upgrade it to 7.0. But I checked sammobile out, there are 7.0 firmwares for different versions but not for mine. For instance, there is a 7.0 for C5000ZHU1BRA1, it is also Hong Kong version. But CSC codes are different. My question is, can I install this firmware to my phone? Is it possible? If I do it, does it make my phone brick?
I know the question has been here before, but i dont seem to find a answer on my specific question:
I'm the Owner of a Galaxy S9+ - It's a "NEE" region
I want to flash the German (DBT) region firmware. Will this mess up the phones KNOX? It's official firmware from Sammy
Flashing a different region firmware, will this mess up the "modem" regarding the bands and etc.? I live in Denmark
I wish you all to have a great day out there
You can flash dbt version with no problem! Knox will not be affected and your csc will be nee !!!
Basically, I've bought Galaxy Tab S7 in Israel, but when I booted it up, I've discovered that it uses TGY region firmware. I'd like to know if I'm allowed to change firmware to ILO region and will there be any consequences for doing so?
And is there any usable material to read of what firmware from what regions is compatible to firmware of other regions?
Thanks!
I have been unable to detect the CSC of my Tab S3 LDU before flashing it. There's nothing in Software information or Discovery and the DRParser doesn't respond to the *#1234# code at all.
I have a SM-T820 LDU which still runs Android 7.0 and I'd like to flash it to Samsung's Android 9 firmware for this model, but I don't want to brick my device.
1) Is it safe to flash a new firmware if its CSC and geographic region is different than the current one? (Flashing a UK firmware over a German one, for example.)
2) If this is asking for trouble, what way might I figure out the CSC of my current firmware other than the methods listed above?
