I'd like to know how to manually launch the Assistant Ambient Mode on a Lenovo tablet. While I find that it launches by itself once I plug in the device and then turn if off, if I start using the device and somehow dismiss it the device will not go back into ambient mode by itself. Is there any sort of hidden APK or deep linking I can use to programmatically trigger it after a certain amount of idle time, perhaps with a program such as Tasker?

Hi, is there any way that I can still get the values from the acceleration sensor even after the screen is turned off (I already made my program as an activity)? When the screen-on is timeout, I will release the wake lock that I used to wake up the phone (to turn the screen on)
Note: When I tried my program in the debugging mode (connected to my computer), it worked fine.
P/s: There is one funny thing, when I tried my program on my sony arc s (stock rom 2.3.4), it stopped sending values from acc sensor after about 10 minutes, but in my friend's phone, he uses cooked rom Cyanogenmod 7, it stopped sending immediately after the screen had turned off. This made me wonder that would android have shallow sleep mode and deep sleep mode. I assumed that in shallow sleep mode, all activities would be able to run normally, but in deep sleep mode, only system activities could run. Am I right?
Thank you!
Basically yes, you are right.
Depending on the ROM/kernel, dictates how fast sleep modes are activated.
All ROMs I have used, have had a selectable "prevent from sleeping" mode when connected to usb. Other than that, you'll need an app that prevents the phone from going in to a deep sleep. :banghead:

Hi all,
So if you are on Android 4.2+, you may already know the feature called Daydream, which is essentially a screensaver that activates when the phone is docked or charging. I'm very fond of how minimalistic the screensaver clock is, and I would like to put my phone in this Daydream mode and wrap it on my wrist so that it acts as a low power "smart watch".
Question is, I can't seem to figure out how to keep Daydream awake without having to keep the phone plugged in.
1. I used various "wake lock" apps that can keep screen awake in regular cases, but they all don't work in Daydream.
2. I tried an app named Car Mode Enabler which sends a sticky "car mode" intent. The phone thinks it's docked and goes into Daydream, but it would still shut the screen after some time.
3. I tried to find an app that sends charging intents (so as to simulate a charging behavior) but to no avail.
So can anyone get me out of this? You can either tell me how to make Daydream stay on, or even better, tell me if there's an app that functions like Daydream (white clock on black background, with system font). Thanks in advance!
I'd like my tablet to use as little battery as possible when the screen is off. I already set it up to goto airplane mode when the screen turns off, restricted background data use, and have grennify set for aggressive doze.
However, when I examine battery usage, I see that it is only in "deep doze" for about 50% of the time and there are wakeup events which I assume are the doze "maintenance windows".
I have xposed and root.
Is there an app or tweak I can use to force it to goto "deep" doze when I turn the screen off and prevent any maintenance windows while the screen is off?
I realize I can just turn off the tablet, but I'm using it for a car nav device and don't wait to wait for it to boot up and settle down every time.
So I've noticed when using smart view to cast to a TV screen, the phone screen will turn to a low power mode, that says smart view, press power or swipe to turn on. My concern is that this image causes image persistence once smart view is done, and could eventually lead to burn in. Does anyone know if this screen moves, like the Always on Display images do; or if there is a way to disable this screen without disabling the screen staying potentially awake the whole time. It may not be possible, but I wanted to see if anyone had any experience. The only possible workaround I've come up with is to use the android native casting feature (via nova and a widgets activity) and perhaps the following app.

I'm finding that mine doesn't always enter the power saving while mirroring which I wish it would when I want it to. If I turn the screen off while mirroring, then ask Google voice to play next song or something the screen mirroring wakes up and display on the external screen and puts the power save mode on the phone which is what I'd expect.
I wish mine did this without having to turn the screen off and the wake it up with voice. If I wake it up with the power button then screen mirror comes on b I t so does the normal screen on the phone.
Maybe we can swap ha ha.
Anyone else not getting the power save option when mirroring? I need to turn the screen off then ask Google to do something for the power save to work. Turning the screen back on doesn't help, just asking Google voice seems to bring it back. I was hoping it would just time out and start automatically. Samsung don't seem to understand their own options, with them telling me that it's not possible until I pointed out it's a software feature if their phone then they went silent.
Hi Guys,
I have the Ticwatch Pro 3 and it's great.
But I have a little problem. I love Always on Display (AOD) and in some situations I also like to set the display not to go into dimming mode via StayLit Wear with the "indefinitely" mode. This also worked great with my Huawei Watch 2, even when I put my arm down on the home screen, even if you can see the time normally. If I set the "indefinitely" mode with the StayLit Wear app on the Ticwatch Pro 3, it works that the Ticwatch Pro 3 always remains active, but only if, for example, I have the settings open or I am in the app selection and if an app is open even if I put my arm down. It also works on the home screen when I have my arm up all the time and look at the clock. But as soon as I'm on the homescreen and I turn my arm away or take it down, the watch always goes into dimming mode, despite the "indefinitely" mode of StayLit Wear.
That could actually only be due to the fact that Mobvoi has specified this in some system file for Wear OS, right?
Can I possibly edit the specific system file, or do something via ADB Shell so that I can set it so that the Ticwatch Pro 3 does not go into dimming mode as soon as I turn the arm away or take it down so that it is only time-controlled again is when the display goes into dimming mode and is not forced to dim when I turn my arm away or take it down?
Possibly for better understanding:
So it works with my Huawei Watch 2.
However, with the Huawei it is also the case that the change to the dimming mode does not happen automatically when I turn my arm away or take it down, but it is purely based on the set time of seconds until the display in the AOD is dimmed.
With the Ticwatch, however, this is set somewhere in such a way that the display not only goes into dimming mode based on the set seconds, but also presumably controlled by a sensor, from a certain angle regardless of the set seconds, immediately goes into dimming mode.
And I want to get rid of the sensor, that the dimming mode is forced and my question is whether someone knows where I can do that.
Thank you in advance for your feedback.

I know this is an old thread but did anyone find a solution for this ? I'm left handed so am using Lefty to flip the screen so I can wear it on my right wrist but if hold it too high and vertical it goes to sleep. I have to keep my arm somewhat flat and look over it I can't bring it to my face
