GTS & iOS 13.5 Zepp notifications - Amazfit

Yo everyone o/
Just got my hands on a GTS and while it's a very nice piece of hardware I'm curious about something. As it stands right now, when I go to the notification toggles on the Zepp app to select which ones I want to redirect to my watch I get a short pre-populated list and an extra one in the bottom that says "Other". If I enable this "Other", every notification gets redirected which is not what I'm looking for.
My use case is that I'd like only my Slack notifications to go to my watch, but there is no toggle for specific apps that are not on the list. Any clue if that list can be rebuilt, or if there is anything else I can do to achieve this?
Thanks!

You can make feature request in Amazfit support forum. I highly doubt it would happen anytime soon

Case in point, I've sent that suggestion several times in the last 2 years I've owned the Amazfit Bip. I always receive a thank you email something to the effect of "we are constantly improving and updating.... " but so far nothing. I'm in the same boat and would like to filter the notifications to only a couple items, most especially from my continuous glucose monitor as opposed to getting all notifications. This is an IOS application limitation as there are several Android options such as Gadget Bridge, Alert Bridge, etc.

Unfortunately, I think from what I saw on my friend's iPhone, notifications redirection on iOS is quite limited. it is true that Zepp on Android allows you to have all apps notifications to be redirected to the watch selectively one by one. However, it is good also to limit them otherwise your watch will keep on vibrate at each notification. it can be painful at a certain level...

Continuous Alerts

Does anyone know of a program that can provide continuous alerts (ring/vibrate) until I acknowledge and turn it off? I get a one time ring or vibrate alert but often don’t notice the one short vibrate. So, unless I look at the phone I will never know I missed a call, have an email, or anything else. I have a Treo 600 also and there is a real handy program called Treo Butler that does just what I need but it is only for Palm OS. I use the T-Mobile PPC 2003 phone.
Thank you in advance.
Joe
Quit easy:
SPB Plus comes with repeating alarms and many more:
The close (X) button is trained to close programs (as well as minimizing them)
Easy-to-use task manager as a pop-up menu on the X button
Multiple windows support for Pocket Internet Explorer
Full screen mode in Pocket Internet Explorer
Repeating sound for appointment, task and clock alarms
Battery monitor on the Today screen
Storage monitor on the Today screen
Program and document shortcuts for the Today screen
Localized for main languages
Check:
http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/pocketplus/?en
regards,
Do you know if it has repeating alarms for email, missed voice calls, and voice mail? it says "Repeating sound for appointment, task and clock alarms" but it does not sound like it has any phone related repeats.
Thanks.
Joe
It's a windows configuration thing
I guess, this is a windows configuration thing.
You can configure warnings for different events right within Windows mobile. Based on this, it should be possible.
But just to be on the save side: Download a trial version and try it to make sure it works in the way you want.

Continuous Alerts / Repeating Alarms
I tried Pocket Plus 2.0 and it does not seem to enable repeating alarms for Mised Calls or Voice Mail. Anyone know if there is a way to do this?
I have the same issue and e-mailed spb to see if/when they would be suppor ing this. They would not commit, but the CTO said they always 'listened to their customers' ;-) I did get hold of a beta version of 'Super Alert' from www.pocketfillers.com, that covered these functions, but it was designed for WM2002. I have not been able to get another beta version for WM2003, and have been too scared to try the old version on my XDA 2 :-o I''l try and get hold of the guy at pocketfillers to see if they have an update.
Regards
Chris
FINALLY
I have been whining about this for MONTHS. No repeating alerts for missed calls, etc.
To answer that previous post, NO, that software doesn't do it. Repeating alarms for calender crap etc, but not phone related functions.
I've been saying that most all cell phones have repeating alerts, but despite searching I haven't found a single thing to accomplish this on the PPC.
Cheers.
The current release of 'super alert' does not contain the functionality, but if you read the post, you'll see that I received a beta version of the next version, that adds SMS, email and voice mail repeating alerts. It has one or two bugs, but works pretty well on the whole. They were due to release it last year, but must have run into some development issue. Also, I have not tried it since I upgraded to WM2003.
PocketZenPhone
Isn't this exactly the functionality provided for XDA-II, for free, by PocketZenPhone ?
I have this set so that any missed call or incoming SMS sets the red LED alert flashing with no time limit - so a quick glance shows if something has happened that I haven't noticed/acknowledged yet.
This seemed like the most battery-friendly way of ensuring a long-term notification.
Thanks for the pointer to pocketZenPhone. It seems to have some usful features, but it looks like it only supports a 'visual' repeating alert, as opposed to an 'audible' repeating alert for the phone functions. Am I reading that correctly? If I am, then I think this is available in the basic WM2003 os under 'notifications' I set this yesterday based on a post in another thread, and it is a big help, but you have to remember to 'glance' at your device from time to time. I think everyone is looking for the audible repeating alert to remind those of us that can't remember to look. Aren't we a sad lot?

Is there an RSS reader with Push Notifications?

A little backstory: Everyday for the last 4 years I've been using a basic, outdated, gingerbread-era, RSS reader called "RSS Junkie" made by the obscure developer bitpowder.com in the Netherlands.
Why?
For one feature: Push Notifications
The backbone of this little gem was what it did in the cloud (google's app engine I'm guessing). This server constantly polled your RSS feeds as often as every few minutes, and when it detected a new article it sent a short excerpt along with a notification (through Google Cloud Messaging) to the app on your phone. The result was that my phone alerted me within minutes (typically less than 5) of new articles. And with no impact to my phone's battery, since the phone isn't doing any background refreshing.
But now it's dead.
And I need help finding a replacement.
And I know what you're thinking, "why would I want my phone constantly blowing up with a flood of articles?" Well the thing is with a site like, for example: Android Police, is that you can get a RSS feed for just certain tags or categories. So getting instant alerts to www.androidpolice.com/tags/deal/feed/ in the past has been absolutely INVALUABLE to me for things like getting my Nexus 6 for $199 (which at the time sold out in just a few hours), allowing me to upgrade on Verizon while keeping my unlimited data (remember that website bug two years ago that only lasted a few hours), and many many other time sensitive and short lived deals.
TL;DR Looking for a RSS reader with Push Notifications to let you know within 10 minutes or so of a new article.
This?

That's EXACTLY what I'm looking for!!!!
I actually tried the Inoreader app earlier today but didn't see anything about Push notifications in the app itself, but followed your link and setup a rule on the desktop.
Two concerns:
1.) Although my feeds say in settings that they are updated in real time (all are quite popular sources) does that mean the notifications will also be in realtime? If so that's even faster than the 5 minutes delay I was getting with RSS Junkie!
2.) Is it possible to change the notification sound from the default?
Glad you've liked it!
1) Yes, "Realtime" means that feeds push their updates to Inoreader. They should do it immediately after publishing, but that depends on the publisher. Push notifications should come within seconds to your device after they are received by Inoreader. For feeds that are not using the realtime protocol and their update interval is higher than you want, you can use the feed boosting option.
2) Unfortunately that's not customizable. You can choose a different prefix for different rules, but not sound.

Nice. Any plan for a widget?
To be honest, widgets were always low priority and it's not very different at the moment. But we are planning something really big for the Android app very soon and widgets might get an overhaul after that.
Has anyone been using an alternative to Inoreader or cheaper option with push notification?

Did you ever find anything? Came here from a google search for mobile notifications
An IFTTT recipe with their RSS trigger and Pushbullet gives you more or less instant RSS update notifications... And it's free
Welp, after using Inoreader for almost 2 years it looks like I'm yet again looking for a RSS reader with Push Notifications, since this extremely simple feature was removed from regular Inoreader functionality and placed behind a $15/year paywall... =(
Have you found anything?
$15 a year to support a developer that created a nice solution to what you need seems reasonable.
it's 50 usd/year now

[Dev] What's your App request?

Hi everyone!
Developer of Energy Bar here. I recently got the Amazfit Pace, and am pretty excited to make some cool Apps for the watch.
As of now, two ideas:
Access phone contacts and dial them directly from the watch (hear & talk via the bluetooth earphones connected to the phone.)
A new notification system, which will let you read individual messages (Apps like WhatsApp have some of the notifications bundled.) And also ability to reply from watch (extremely small keyboard though.)
I would like to hear your ideas, please suggest something that may benefit all the watch users in general. I wouldn't be able to fulfil any custom App request as of now.
Your ideas may go as crazy as you would like, I will let you know the extend to which it would be technically feasible. The only thing I want to re-emphasize is that, the idea needs to be something that will benefit all the watch users in general.
Also, I do plan to make majority of Apps' feature free to the community, but to be able to afford enough time to make a lot of Apps which leverages full potential of the watch - I would need support through in-app purchases. I would like to know if you would be interested in subscribing to some of the essential Apps or a pack of Apps?
Hello. I have a new watches. I am missing several functions. Posibility to display level of phone battery on watchface, and indication about unread notification(s). I would also aperciate posibility to bring sport activity to background and paralel usage of other applications. However I am afraid that these functions will be dependent on system services.

Displaying battery level of phone and number of unread notifications sounds good!
But I wonder what's the specific use case of running some other App on the watch while sport activity is running? Could you please elaborate?

I would like to record just my touristic trips. I would like to use the watches normally, during the trip - checking weather for example.... I have used Sony SmartWatch 2 for 3 years - I will have some other ideas for sure later when I will have more experiences with Amazfit...
GoPro control app, ios/android music control app, phone book and dial app with headphones, voice recorder - there is mic built in the watch... and continuum transfunctioner Zoltan!
Being able to reply to Text/Gmail messages is #1 for me. Second - remote control of phone's music app.
Thank you for starting this project, I really appreciate your efforts. This watch has one of the best looking design and a decent hardware. I think file manager and ablity to install apk from the watch and an app to push files from phone to the watch would be beneficial.

In earlier fw version was even worse. During sport activity, literally you couldn't see time on the, well, watch! Then they added it on the top, as well as battery status. Both too small but at least.
I agree with you, watch is missing multitasking. Going to home screen, using it regularly and track activity in the background. However, I doubt that op can do that without source of the fw.

By recording touristic trips do you mean activating one of the sports activity? Like Walk? It is possible to enable such a solution, but how good that solution would be, depends on a more defined use case. I will put this on a lower priority list, will check the feasibility a bit later.

GoPro control app - have to know if a niche among the niche of Amazfit pace users exist, if there is enough demand - will develop.
Music control, dial - Yes, nice ideas.
Voice Recorder - This App apparently works, if it's missing something specific to our watch, let me know.

Apart from checking on time, do you feel that there is a real need for multitasking while the watch is tracking one of your sports activity? Or is it more like, nice to have thing? If the need of multitasking has some great application/use case, I would like to hear about it - as in, what else would you access while actively participating in a sport?

Well, as mentioned before to use other features of the watch, time, date, weather, notifications... Notification, for example, will show up during activity and then disappear. No way to check it again. Music player is also not available during some activities. No way to check steps as well.
Of course it's not deal breaker but other watches have that feature and would be nice to have normal watch skin with activity in the background. Especially during walking, sightseeing... Watch can track up to 35h, after all.

In my opinion, it would be nice to have an app that tells you when your watch loses the connection.
In fact, that was the reason why i bought my first smartwatch, a Sony 2. I was afraid to lose my phone . And it's a pity the actual amazfit doesn't give you this option.
Thanks in advance!!!
I'd say that Huami have purposely restricted background apps in order to maximise battery life.
As far as app requests go: for me it's a podcast app, that's active while running.
My guess is that the easiest way to do this would be that the podcasts would download into the music folder and we could just use the default music player to play them.
Remote camera control, useful for selfies
There are many 5k/10k trainer apps on android/iOS. Is it possible to port one or create some simple to run in background while running activity?
Right now Im using 5k Run-Couch to 5K Walk/Jog interval training. Something similar would be great, no need for some fancy design.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vandersw.fivekrun
In connection with headphones there could be some beep sound on each interval, no need for vibration.
An editor of watchfaces like those that exist for Android wear would be great, since the edition of watchfaces for this watch is complicated, and there's not much editing freedom...

Porting would essentially mean modifying another developer's work without a permission. So, whatever it is, have to be built from scratch.
Running an App simultaneously with the running activity on foreground may not work well, both the Apps would have to keep tracking your distance etc. So, am afraid that won't be a good idea for now.
But I plan to facilitate multitasking, so that may help in one or the other way.

Using Amazfit Pace as notification device, disable sports entirely?

Bought a new toy today. Was looking for a nice watch to replace pebble. Mainly I need good notification handling, long battery life and always-on screen.
Now this is a nice device, however it is heavily focused on fitness. Problem is, I don't care about that a tiny bit and this is really irritating.
So, is it possible to completely disable sports part and only use it as notification device?
Let's start about watch faces. Is there a face without symbols of foot and heart, but showing total notification count instead?
Good question .... indeed for me the same "notification" priority instead of "sports" ....
Have you seen "Watch Droid Assistant"? It does enhanced notifications and lets you read past notifications, so you may want that.
You can also turn off the widgets for sports stuff in the phone app.
Not sure about having a notification count on the watchface, but you can get loads of custom faces online (lots here https://sawfb.fabiobarbon.click/ ) so you can have one that's less sport focused if you like. Just plug the watch into a PC and drop the watchfaces into the WatchFaces folder.
I should mention that I also just got this watch today so I am still learning, but it seems good so far.
I'm looking for the exact same thing! I have a personal phone and a company phone. I bought this watch only for the company phone so that way I can quickly get alerts about calls, texts and emails. But, I don't want any of the sports/health/fit/whateveryoucallit features on the phone.
Anyone been able to accomplish this? I checked every setting I could find and disable it, but I was hoping there would be a hard switch for it.
There is no way nor need to disable the fitness features, simply make sure continuous heart rate isn't enabled, as well as "Activity reminders" in Settings, then if you don't start to record an activity it will oy register steps, what cannot be disabled and doesn't affect anything else.
The best experience for notifications on Pace/Stratos/Verge is AmazMod + SuperFit or GreatFit.
If you don't want or can't install Amazfit Watch app on your (Android) phone, then you can try WatchDroid, a freemium app that can send notifications to these watches after you install the companion service app on watch itself too.

Anyone helping building a new companion app to send data to the Stratos/Pace Watch?

Hi there,
i'm trying to build a companion app similar to watchdroid with wich i can send data to the watch and display them on a widget/springboard.
In my case i wan't to have my blood glucose level on my watch as i was used to with my android wear watch.
I have a simply app made with taske wich can read out a json from my nightscout site. This sadly work only via wifi.
Main problem is the bluetooth comunication. i've tried so many simply bluetooth apps and librarys via sideload. I can't even tell how many. Non of them worked out. Only some worked in watch to phone direction but not the other - desired - way. In almost every case, my phone could'nt even find the watch.
But since watch droid got it working, i know there is a way.
There is another way to get data to the watch: the notification system. Since i also could'nt get the notification listener to work on the watch, it is also not a starting point for me.
Last chance i see is automizing watchdroid and sending a file at a regulary scedule and reading this from the widget.
For the moment i just use Notify and fitness cause the Phone notification with my glucose level is persistent and the huami app ignores persistent notifications.
But get a new notification with my glucose level every 5 Minutes. On the phone the notification gets just updated, on the watch i get a new one. Over the day the notification stack gets fuller and fuller...
I'm not talking about geting this into a watchface, thats the next step after the next hundreds of steps.
Any help and tipps are welcome.
When a notification is dismissed on the phone, it should dismiss on the watch.
If you have the source to this app, you could make it dismiss it's notification and send a new one.

Yes, it's freestyle libre with ambrosia blucon nightrider for nfc readout and transmission every 5 min. The app i use is xdrip+.
The notification is persistent to keep the data collector service running, to show the value on the notificatiin icon even on the aod of samsungs.

ah yes anyway, the price of "ambrosia blucon nightrider" as we say at home "it stings the eyes". before you give me the answer I was wondering how you did to get back the FreeStyle scan, so I understand. on the other hand to use the nightscout, it is a little the course of the fighter ... a lot of account to create. damage that the app glimp or other does not regroup suddenly!
It's currently my intention to build a framework for both phone and watch to allow apps to get data from the internet at some point in the next few months. I'm stuck with work to do at the moment so don't have any time to put towards projects (especially not big ones like that) but in the future - probably
I'd ideally also like to get Android Wear (not Wear OS, it's an old version) working too, to allow at least some companion apps to function (Sleep as Android, Keep etc.). I've got the framework working fine (which does improve app compatibility, but no communication still severely limits what they can do), but the two way Bluetooth connection throws an error that I cannot find any documentation about, so it's on hold for now until I have sufficient time to investigate properly
This would be awesome to have a framework like this. In my case i would'nt even need real internet access, due to the web service is localy provided by the xdrip app. But this would open so many things and possible options to code. Let me know if i could help. I'm also short in time but willing to help.
Getting Android wear working on the pace/stratos would also be great. I tried out sideloading the micro apk for wear of xdrip+ and it worked out better than expected. No crashes from the app and even the integrated watchfaces were selectable. Of course there were no data shown and no low power watchface.

It might actually be possible to build a newer version of Android, source code exists for the CPU and MIPS sources exist all the way up to Oreo, but again that would take time I don't have (and space for that matter)

Hi, great news. Will this work on Amazfit BIP ?
Since the Bip does not rely on the AmazFit Watch app, i'd say no.
Can you show on the photo the indications of the xdrip on the watch? how it works.
Hi, i'm now trying to integrate quinnys library into xDrip, to make thinks easy and to allow 2 way communication.
Since xDrip is a really big and complex project + i'm a noop i'm having trouble with providing a switch in the menus and finding the right place to start the service from. Maybe someone can help me out again.

None of this will work with the Bip, it's too limited
Is there any way to implement the clockscreen or widget from Glimp instead of XDrip on the Stratosphere. I'm getting better use from Glimp and MiaoMiao.

Now i'm fine tuning the widget and maybe also the nightscout parts of amazmod. But i'm still learning.
