I have recently returned to my apartment with my brand new archos 70. I use WPA2-PSK encryption for my wifi network. at first everything was golden, I could browse the web and whatnot just fine. as of a few days ago, wifi has not been working correctly. my device connects to the network (pulls an ip address from the router) but when I try to browse web pages or open web based apps they hang up and act as if I have no connection. it works fine on other networks (to limit the problem to my network) I have tried doing a factory reset of the device, tried power cycling my router and modem with no luck. I have also changed encryption types to no avail. i have the latest firmware for the gen 8 series. also from time to time during this session of events, sometimes it will connect to the router, then disconnect and reconnect. I have no clue whats going on because I havent changed any router settings since I got back. the only other devices on my wifi network are two laptops. any help would be appreciated.
you mean you restored to the factory settings ran through the start up all over again and it still won't connect to your router? have you tried any other types of connections or routers?
I had this problem just the other night was this close to reformatting the whole thing. but I solve the problem by turning the device off, then holding the reset button while it rebooted to turn it off again, an reinitializing the drivers.
how do you reinitialize the drivers? I did a factory wipe. and it connects, it shows as having network connectivity (even my router lists it as a dhcp client and currently making use of the access point) but no internet functions work. ive connected to other networks fine.
This happened to me when I first got my A70. What I had to do to fix it (after getting incredibly pissed, reformatting twice, and almost returning the thing) was to set it up to use a static IP address on my home wifi network. Don't know if it'll solve your problem, but it works beautifully for me and I'm able to enjoy the device now.
Just remember to uncheck "use static IP address" when you get on other wifi networks.
well, I set up static addressing, gave it a private ip, set up the gateway and dns, and it still wont connect to anything.
If set as wireless N, set as N+G or G only, latest firmware may have trouble connecting to wireless N networks.
na, I dont have it set to n, I have it set to auto which I believe puts it to g with my archos. thing is, it used to work. now it suddenly has problems.
Im beginning to wonder if the archos tablets are just picky about wireless routers. I wouldnt think so...
Upgrade the firmware
Archos published a firmware upgrade to solve this problem (December 2010). The related bug in the release notes is...
Wi-Fi: fix Wi-Fi stuck after a while when using WPA2/AES encryption mode
The new firmware download link is in the Archos website.
you can download the firmware to your computer, copy it to the root directory of the tablet using the USB cable, and run the upgrade process in the tablet.
... or you can use another WiFi network (without WPA2/AES) and download the update in the same tablet
Note: I cannot send the links, however you can use the information to search the links in the internet.
Well, the title says pretty much all .. I earlier didn't have this problem.. Then since last night, I came back home and connected my Galaxy Ace to my home wifi, but this time, it wasn't transferring any data.. It would be connected, full signal, but no internet connection.. My browser, gmail, YouTube, PlayStore, nothing would load.. It'd keep saying Connection Error. Retry.
My wifi works properly on the computer and other devices, and my phone used to work perfectly too! Why's it suddenly giving this problem?!
Any solutions!?
SOLVED!
Okay so I figured it out on my own!!
I went to Wifi Settings>> Advanced>> and "Use Static IP"
I then provided my phone with an IP address, gave the DNS servers as mentioned by my Router, and gateway, is ofcourse, the IP adress of the router. NETMASK is Subnet mask ..
Once I filled in them correctly, and as per my router settings, my mobile is now transferring data and I can now access the internet!
Just thought I'd post a reply incase anyone else was facing this problem
No data through laptop hotspot.
I have a similar problem, but with using my laptop as an access point. My Samsung Galaxy Ace had no problem connecting to either my or my wife's laptop access points initially till about a week ago. I use an HP while my wife uses a DELL. We both run Windows 7. But, here's when things started to get strange.
1. The Ace even though connected through my laptop's AP Wi-fi cannot send or receive data after the first few seconds.
2. My wife's Dell XCD35 (ZTE Blade) has no problems.
3. The Ace has no problem connecting to an Android AP or my wife's laptop AP.
I reflash and unrooted my phone and basically brought it back to factory settings but no luck.
Tried using other services for using my laptop as an accesspoint - mhotspot, virtual router and connectify - still no luck.
tried static ip - no luck.
reinstalled the MS Virtual Wi-fi Miniport Adaptop driver - no luck.
Somehow, there is a security setting on the laptop that's preventing my phone from connecting to the internet. I think I maybe connected to the network, but access to the internet is restricted.
There are no other features like MAC address binding or anything like for laptop APs.
It's getting really frustrating now.
Any help would be appreciated.

Set your Internet to "Allow other computers to share this Internet connection". Other ideas would be to check/disable your firewall
Wifi connected but not working
My Galaxy ace plus connects fine to wifi network but cannot browse internet or play store. I am using a free public wifi so i dont know about the static ip address. And this problem was from the starting whn i just bought it. So is there any other solution for this problem or not?
I tried everything... I restarted the modem- no luck. I filled in the blank from the advance wifi setting- no luck
I'm on STF-L09 8.0.0.364 and everyday I use mobile hotspot with no problems. Few days ago I tried to use Device List feature to allow only Allowed Devices to connect on my hotspot. After trying this, my PC and iPad couldn't connect anymore to my hotspot. The network appears by default but iPad shows "wrong password" and PC shows "Can't connect to this network". I went back to last configuration but with no success. I have already tried to change network name, password and authentication type but none of the attempts worked. Does anyone have an idea of what to do or know a way to get the mobile hotspot settings back to the original?
Same here.
For no reason wifi hotspot stopped working.
I tried to reset network parameters, to switch between wifi 5GHz and 2.4 GHZ (as found elsewhere), no result.
I installed last update (STF-L09 8.0.0.368), but hotspot still not working, can't connect any device to it.
Any clue ?
Dear User,
again go to hotspot>> device list>>select allow devices to "connect as all devices". Then disable and re-enable hotspot and again try to connect, try to reconfigure wifi in ur ipad, laptop and all. its working tried as u said with my device
I did that once, didn't work. I did it 2 or 3 times more, then it finally worked !
Hotspot is really instable : after some minutes of use, I had to do this again .
But thanks for your help.
It seems like enabling and disabling the Device List turns the Hotspot working back. But every time I want to use Hotspot, I need to do it again. The functionality really is unstable.
After almost one year of happy usage of my Xiaomi Mi Box S I have encountered a very weird problem recently after a power failure because of a blown fuse.
A couple of days ago one of my fuses blew and after I had reset the fuse box and turned on my tv and Xiaomi Mi Box S I noticed that my Mi Box couldn't find my Wi-Fi network anymore. As far as I know it wasn't updating anything during the power failure. What I've noticed so far is that:
- the Mi Box S can still find and connect to other wifi networks
- All my other devices can still find and connect to my own wifi network without any problems
- If I create a hotspot via my laptop which is connected to the wifi the Mi Box S cannot find or connect with this network
The things I have tried so far to fix it:
- Reboot the Xiaomi Mi Box S
- Reboot the router (Sitecom WLR-3100)
- Factory reset the Xiaomi Mi Box S
- Changed the name of wifi network
- Changed the password of wifi network
- Changed the IP address of the wifi network
- Factory reset the router
none of these things have helped. Does anyone have suggestions how I could restore this problem? All help is very much appreciated.

The same as my problem. I don't have any solution for this, just replace the router.
I guest some configuration of Wireless driver had been broken during the suddenly lost power. Maybe re-flashing the android firmware could resolve it.

I realize this thread is a few months old but I thought I would chime in with an experience I had with the Mi BOX not showing any wifi networks. What fixed my issue was turning off a usb bluetooth adapter that I had plugged in to my PC (which was only a few feet away). I read somewhere that bluetooth could affect Wifi connections so I switched the adapter off and my Mi BOX immediately started to display all of the nearby networks again.

Any update on this ?
Having same issue with my new mi box 4, out of the box it can't see my home network, however all other networks show up and work fine. Even the hotspot created off of home network is not shown. I'm out of my wits right now.
I had exactly the same problem. Mi box started to see my wifi after I turned TKIP off option in router's wifi setup.
You need to change the channel of the router, try channel 6, it will be ok.
Envoyé de mon SM-G960F en utilisant Tapatalk
It's ok guys with the channel 6 ?
It's working if you change the router to channel 6. Mine was on channel 13 and after i switched it imediatly the MiBox saw the network. Thanks anarckia!
mi box wifi issues
I'm facing the same issues, everytime after power cut, mi box is not able to connect to wifi automatically, I have to restart the mi box everytime, and then to forgot network to connect again.
Change channel to 6
It's working if you change the router to channel 6. Mine was on channel 13 and after i switched it imediatly the MiBox saw the network. Thanks
I tried by changing the channel to 6 and I'm facing the same problem.
Mibox S recognizes my Wi-Fi (both 2.4 and 5.5 Ghz) but no internet access.
My laptop, tablet 3 phones and Amazon Alexa are connected to the 5Ghz without any problem (stable Wi-Fi 98Mb download)
If I create a hotspot from my phone (it uses the LTE 4G network) mibox can connect and have internet access
The most oddly thing is.... NETFLIX works even with the message ``no internet access´´ (no I don't have any download episode or movie from Netflix )
With this diagnosis I can conclude that, my router is ok (phones laptop tablet etc.. Works flawless) the Mibox S Wi-Fi antenna is ok (detects all the Wi-Fi network) the problem I imagine is some firmware configuration from the mibox (this start to happen after a power failure)
Any ideas?
thanks
I have the same problem with my Mibox S
I wake up from morning and my Mibox show notifications that No internet,
I try to connect to my home wifi, but nothing appear on the list, all of my laptop and phone can connect to that wifi normally
I also tried to reset mibox twice, reset my wifi router but nothing work.
Then i create a hospot from my 4G LTE and the mibox can connect to that hospot.
I've just returned it to the retailer, hope they will find out what is happening with my device
I don't know why or how, but my mi box wifi suddenly not working after a power failure. but my router wifi channel is always set to automatic.
changing my wifi channel to 6 fixed my issue.
Before I read this thread, I was thinking to borrow a "usb to gigabit ethernet" from my friend to check if will work on cabled network.
But now it works. thanks
just in case channel 6 didn't solve the problem, set date and time to manually set (note that your date and time was reset to old date), this will solve the problem. but on every power set you will have to set again
changing the channel to 6 worked for me.
Check your date and time, try manual setup. It work for me. After connect to wifi change your set date and time to auto
Hi Friends,
I was using a Mi TV box with no issue for the last 1 year but once I did a system reset on my Singtel wi-fi router, Mi TV box is not able to connect to the internet.
Took below steps:
1. Tried factory reset on the Mi TV box but no luck
2. All other appliances (Macbook, IBM laptop, Android phone, Iphone) able to connect to wifi router. Issue is only with Mi TV box.
3. I tried setting static ip instead of DHCP but no luck
4. Tried to connect on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz channel but no luck.
5. Tried disabling the 5GHz channel on the router and checked with different channels of 2.4GHz but still same issue.
6. Based on this forum discussion, tried channel 6 (2.437GHz), did not work.. in fact tried all channels 1 by 1, nothing worked
7. Tried 'Date and Time' manual and Automation but no luck.
8. Mi tv box able to connect to my android phone hotspot.
9. Called Singtel team and asked them to do firmware upgrade on the router but no change ( not sure if it really happened or not)
Guys, any suggestion would be very very helpful.

I am setting date time to manual and then back to automatic and it does the trick until we have a fix.
Hi,
Both myself and my wife's phones worked fine with our previous ISP. We have moved to a place that our old ISP does not provide service to, so had to go with another ISP. All of our devices work fine when connected to WIFI except my wife's android phone (Sony Xperia X Compact, latest stock rom) and my old Android phone (Moto G 4G running Lineage OS 14.1).
When either of us try to connect either of these 2 devices to our WIFI, they connect for a couple of seconds, then disconnect. They go through the following steps and then constantly loop
obtaining IP address
connected no internet
connected
saved
disconnecting
Rinse, lather, repeat, they both keep doing this constantly. Both these devices work fine on other networks and worked with my old ISP, so the devices themselves are physically fine, and all the other devices in my home connect to the new ISP's router fine as well.
Ive done the following to try to resolve the issue
Forget network and join again
Renamed device names
Temporarily disabled wireless encryption on router
Made sure Mac filter on router is off
Assigned static IP address to both devices
Cleared cache on google play services
Connected a 2nd router to main router as an access point using a different SSID
Used WIFI analyzer to see what WIFI channel was being used the least in my neighborhood and changed the channel on the router accordingly
Turned airplane mode on and off
Turned device off for 30 seconds then back on
Reset network settings
None of these steps have worked, the only thing I haven't done is factory reset both devices which my wife isn't prepared to do with her device but I might do with mine. Are there any other steps that might resolve this before I pull my hair out ?.
Thanks in advance.
@J0hnick
1. A Factory Reset doesn't take effects on Android's system settings
2. Android by default always tries to connect to near-by Wi-Fi networks you've connected before. Hence you've to remove saved networks ( i.e. Forget network ), then add new new network ( i.e. Add network & Save)
Have you tried restarting the router?
