Lwps don't have any meaningful impact on battery so far. I've been using my favorite gif lwp on the duo though it's not perfect over both screens. Still seeing around 6 hours sot.
Doesn't mean some poorly behaved wallpapers won't drain battery, but nothing here would be duo specific.

Anyone got other LW suggestions?
live circuit board is a pay for live wallpaper and not that great

Does anyone have the apks for the stock vibrant "water" live paper, that's the one with the falling leaves and the "grass" lwp. I have searched and found zips that don't have those, and a stock lwps apk that has all the stock ones but force closes when I choose any of the stock papers it contains.
Is your phone Loki? Use Odin. You'll be Thor!
Im not sure if you folks all know this, but there's a couple versions of the circuit Live Wallpaper on the android market.
And guess what??? They are free!

I'm wondering if there are any qHD live wallpapers out there? It seems that all of them -and most "regular" wallpapers are WVGA....
So if we're stretching out WVGA wallpapers to fill a qHD screen, what's the point of having a qHD screen?
last *bump*
so nothing? Will I have to use WVGA live wallpapers on the qHD screen?
What I do is cut out the part I like or miniaturize a wallpaper that I like. Or use iPhone 4 wallpaper which is very similar in size only 100 pixel bigger.. Just an Idea..

All the Live wallpapers on the market are either not compatible with the Atrix (resolution? Tegra 2?) or are just stretched out WVGA wallpapers, making the point of owning a qHD screen a bit less meaningful...
Give it time... relatively new feature on phones so it should only be a matter of time till we see more qHD apps, wallpapers, etc.

That's the thing. With a locked bootloader, devs are shying away from it. There's very little reason to develop for it and not the Nexus S, whose apps will run on the vast majority of Androids in people's hands...
Some hope...
Finally, here's a live wallpaper which *MIGHT* be qHd... give it a try, and see whether your qHD wallpapers still have the same detail, or were converted to WVGA and stretched...

Not really sure you made a point related to the thread in that post. qHD is just the screen resolution. So a qHD live wallpaper would just be like any other live wallpaper, but in the qHD resolution. The atrix is not the only phone that is going to be running qHD. The bootloader isn't really giving us issues running apps or live wallpapers, as far as I know. We just can't run custom roms... and as long as we can't run custom roms, it doesn't matter whether those are in qHD or not.
So my point still stands... there will probably be some qHD live wallpapers produced, but the phones that can actually use them are just starting to come out. Give it time and we'll probably see a few pop up. Same with apps. The bootloader is not preventing either of those from being made and used on our phones.

Not to negate what you are trying to say but qHD also improves resolution for videos, web browsing, viewing photos, gameplay, etc. I would assume the issue will resolve itself as soon as more phones implement higher resolutions.
Is there a live wallpaper or other you'd like to see in qHD? I've been toying with making a live wallpaper, if you have an idea I can try it out

Oh well it would be nice to have ANY decent qHD water live wallpaper.... like Samsung's gorgeous "Oceans" livewallpaper showing a colorful seabed with coral reefs and an uber-realistic water physics effect...
...since it doesn't run on the Atrix..
Also, has anyone tried LG's Optimus 2x Live wallpapers (WVGA)?

Only the fireworks one works. I've tried all of them lol. All the rest are too small.
Another disappointment. Why can't they be like Samsung, and release live wallpapers that show off the power of the new chip in the phone?

Hello,
this is my first time posting on XDA, I hope you can help me out.
I bought a Samsung Galaxy S II last week and set about personalising it using Photile Live Wallpaper, Widget Locker, various other widgets and apps.
I would not have expected to experience any lag or stuttering at this stage, no matter how much I throw at this phone given the incredible specs.
Despite this, I am experiencing slight, almost imperceptible (but absolutely unnacceptable!) lag when flicking between homescreens. I find it hard to believe that this can be the hardware struggling. Can anyone think of any other reason? Perhaps TouchWiz struggling to keep up with the ammount of widgets/live wallpaper customisation?
Obviously I cannot bare to show my iPhone loving friends my brand new android with this happening!!
Is anyone else experiencing any issues similar to this?

I am quite sure the Photile Live wallpaper is causing it. Try removing the wallpaper and see if it lags.
I did yes. I only really had the clock, wether and news, and some shortcuts on one screen and the agenda on the next and it would lag (not badly) between the 2.

Hi, and thankyou for your quick reply.
I have removed photile and put a normal gallery picture as the wallpaper. I am still experiencing the lag. Again, we aren't talking anything major but I would not expect to see any sort of stuttering with this hardware. Opening and closing apps, marketplace, web browsing etc are all exceptionally fast.
It seems such a shame for such an amazing piece of kit to let itself down like this!
Is it just me having this problem?
I used a friend's Desire HD yesterday using photile and several widgets and it was perfectly smoothe. Same on another friend's Desire S.
Do I have a faulty phone? Or is Samsung software really that bad?
I have experienced this aswell.
Since its only a split milliseconds delay ive just ignored it.
Doesnt look good though when your showing off to your mates "the fastest phone on the market" and then it stutters when you flick between homescreens!
Theres no problems with flicking through the apps so my guess would be the widgets loading time.
i see this same stutter/delay ont he Infuse, as well as on the original galaxy s. it just seems to be a part of the touch input algorithm samsung uses in their touchwiz launcher.
if you use HTC phone, that stutter is not present. or replace the launcher and maybe the stutter goes away.

Thanks for the video! Although there weren't any verbal speech in this video but this video is nicely directed into simple sections and also included a section for switching apps from the recent apps menu :good:, Moving on to the smoothness, this is exactly what I'm talking about, switching between apps from the recent apps menu just stutters and I just can't bare the sight of it and it seems like the only workaround is to disable hw overlays, has anyone got any idea if this is still present on custom Roms like hb 1.3 per say?
Offtopic: I want that live wallpaper! Where can I get it?

There are less jarring bugs. For instance, I haven't experienced reboots (fingers crossed) or any screen tearing or screen glitches at high brightness (which I used to before, again fingers crossed)...

The lag or I should say FPS on Transformer Prime is horrible in general (I believe it got worse with JB).
For example, I have tested playing Wild Blood on 3 different device.
HP Touchpad, Asus Transformer Prime, Galaxy S3 (friends phone)
In terms of FPS & speed of the game....
Galaxy S3 > HP Touchpad (using CM9 overlocked to 1.5ghz) > and the very laggy Asus Transformer Prime performance mode.
Edit: Same with Chaos Ring (RPG from Square Enix)... same result. Transformer Prime just falls extremely short when it comes to graphic heavy games.
I have 2 questions
1. Is there any way to increase color staturation via tools or upcoming updates from sony. (ie display colab was ported to xperia z)
2. Will this tablet recieve the 4.2.2 update or is cm10 needed.
Thanks and i apologize if the questions are too noobish.

1. Not yet. My guess is that we will probably see it in a 4.2.2 update. No one actually knows yet.
2. Sony have said it will be coming soon. No date has been given though. I'm really hoping it improves performance or I'll have no choice but to go for another ROM.

Really nothing major, but it does stutter with the recent apps draw and similar little things. It also doesn't play animations very well in some spots. It is pretty snappy for the most part though, just not quite Nexus 4 snappy.

Nope, I'm on nova launcher. It's very fast and fluid on the home screen. The choppy animations are pretty random in odd areas, but still frequent enough to make me notice them. Small apps is very choppy for example.
For 1) - I am using the App "Screen Adjuster" for that.
Screen adjuster doesnt have an option for saturation or gamma. Hope sony releases their app.
