Well, this is puzzling. My V30+ is rooted using stock Oreo. Has been working just fine..until today, when I had GMail open trying to read some emails. They wouldn't fully open (spinning circle on screen), then I got an "Edge has stopped working, close app, report feedback". Huh..wasn't using it at the time. Tried a few more emails, same thing happened. Uninstalled Edge. I could open emails again. Decided to install Opera instead. And I rebooted the phone. Now I have had "android is restarting" loop for the last 15 minutes. Tried removing replacing the SIM card, no joy.
Booted to recovery wiped Dalvik & cache, restarted phone, same thing again. The GUI is not coming back on. I can pull down the Gmail icon at the top, read emails, even play YT video someone sent me, but no main screen, no access to anything.
And this is my work phone...
Gave up on trying to solve it. Tried dirty flashing, but cannot get back root (Magisk 18.1, same v I had before) Doing a clean flash now...and praying.
Weird ?
You shouldn't be having such issues
While you're at it, you could try magisk 20.4
That one should work fine
Do I need to uninstall 18.1 first? I know there used to be uninstall zips around matched to versions ...
I know this should have been easy peasy.
Ah, success! Found a 18.x uninstaller, ran that & then flashed 20.4. All bettah!
thanks

I recently purchased an Optimus T and rooted it with z4root and then installed Titanium Backup to delete some of the preinstalled apps, like the Pacman Demo.
As I was removing each app, (~5 at this point) the Home button suddenly stopped working, followed by total phone death. Even after factory reset, when I was trying to access the phone, eventually I was shown a "... setup.exe stopped responding..." (or something like that) message and my phone just stayed stuck on the booting screen (android) every time I restart (w/o entering factory reset).
Does anyone have any ideas, or know which apps can prevent the phone from booting properly? A list of safe apps to delete would be helpful too. I thought I was pretty cautious with removing only non essential apps, but it seem bricked. Thanks again!

About list off apps, I have to agree. Even it there is litle problem with dependencies, some minimum describe of these issue will be great!!
So, about your problem - I think, that you will have to download original ROM and do flashing with KDZ_FW_UPdater. (search on xda for more information).
But definitely, if it's possible I would try to install custom recovery throw adb shell (android SDK tools) and do backup of system for possibility to recovery or saving at least few data, and after try wipe and install one of custom ROM.
This happened to me after I tried deleting preinstalled apps on my Optimus One... Sent it in for repairs since it just stopped working. The tech guy said he did a "software update" and everything is good as new (except for the LGMITS error once in a while)
They didn't even bother trying to fix mine. They just told me to send it in and gave me a replacement.
So I finally figured out what I did wrong - basically when I was doing the deleting, I accidentally deleted the LG Home app, which effectively deactivated my (duh) home button and effectively stopped everything from functioning properly. For some reason I thought it was just a simple link from my phone directly to the LG website, as would happen with new PCs very often. Well... won't be doing THAT again.
However, my web2go button isn't working. I have to force quit every time I try to click on it. Can I just get rid of it or will it just give me more trouble later on?
At least you knew what went wrong with yours... I was just erasing CarHome and Layar and the LG App Adviser among other things i wont be using like Twitter and Latitude.
And they even gave you a new one x__x I had to wait 5 days before everything was good as new. After the first fix, USB debugging and mass storage stopped working so I sent it in for another "software update"...
Hi,
I have an lg c800 -- mytouch q by lg
I rooted it yesterday and removed all the bloat. I also installed several root only apps to optimize the phone.
It ran smoother than even right out of the box.
So, I figured it be a good idea to backup the rom, and maybe later try cyanogenmod... So I installed Rom Manager by clockworkmod
It said i needed to install clockwork recovery rom. I went in there but it said my device was unsupported (only like 12 were) so I backed out,
and stupidly hit TWRP listed under "Recovery Already Installed". (thinking that meant what options I had to SETUP a recovery/backup)
I hit backup rom. almost instantly the phone restarted. After the bios, but before android it went to a screen with a box, and an arrow pointing from the inside of the box to the little android man. Then went to the regular android boot screen.
It does this every reboot now. The SuperSU is still there, whenever Rom Manager (which I have to reinstall each reboot) asks for root access I get that dialog box, so it hasn't actually hard reset the phone I don't think. But all the user data, contacts, apps, wifi passwords, google id "(to access Play) get wiped out.
I understand what I did wrong. I think I understand what its doing (booting to the factory rom as it was, and I can't set it to stop doing it each reboot)
What I need help with is getting back, if possible, to what I had previously, among other things, I had a bunch of tasker profiles and notes that will be time consuming to replace.
Thank you for your help.
EDIT: SuperSU is now listed among the factory installed apps. This is unchanged each reboot.
Question: If I unroot the phone what that invalidate Rom Managers ability to run before android boots?
Hey
So this old i9000 phone came with some Horrible bloatware I wanted to get rid of.
I flashed a stock Rom with Odin, (I've done it many times before on a different i9000)and Wiped Data and Cache afterwards, And 3 different Roms give me this problem:
When the phone finally initializes, Everything keeps Stopping unexpectedly. I've tried to get to enabling ADB to maybe view the logcat but I can't even get to the settings.
I did notice in the recovery mod an error that said something about System/CSC/CEL/system not being accesible (And i'm surprised it's still there after 3 flashes, CEL being the CSC for the bloatware company)
What do I do?
Currently on Stock rom with stock recovery.
Edit:
Okay, I have managed to race through the crashes, Launch the Home app, and enable ADB... so we have that now... "ADB devices" Shows its connected.
Edit2:
They all crash with "java.lang.ClassNotFoundException:" Right now Home screen is working but anything i try to run crashes
Edit3: It's like the old Gmail account is HARD CODED to it, What the hell? 3 rom flashes and countless factory reset, The account is still there, I cannot get rid of it.
Hello guys,
So, i have rooted my Device (BQ M5) 1 Month ago and installed Xposed on it. Everything was fine until yesterday, where i was underway and streaming via Chrome a video. I didn't close Chrome and simply locked my phone. Several minutes later, when I tried to unlock my phone, i directly noticed heavy lag (response 2seconds - 2min - locks device). I thought a reboot might solve this issue, but i was wrong. I started to uninstall several previously installed apps and tweaks (where the newest App/Tweak was 8 days "young".
After a reboot, still heavy lagging. I opened TWRP and Cleared Dalvik and Cache, did a reboot in System, Recovery and Bootloader. I even flashed the device with a complete fresh OS. The problem still remains. After several re-flashings, some cache clear, factory resets and SuperSu unrootement i somehow managed to get it to work again. So I started from 0 again, and installed all previous apps, and root apps. Everything was fine for several hours (connected to Wi-Fi), so i was installing Xposed again, with 2 apps/tweaks: Flat Style bar, youtube adaway. Everything was still allright untill i left the house. I unlocked my device 50min later (for the first time when i left my house) and boom, the lagging was back. (Don't have internet outside my house).
As soon as i came back, i retried everything to remove the lag, however I did now several things in addition for over 3h and the lagging sill remains. I down and upgraded the OS, formatted the data, did every clear in TWRP and Bootloaded that i could find. I reset it via Settings and flashing. I installed SuperSu and de-installed it.
I don't know what else i could do, to solve this issue. The lag remains when using TWRP, Bootloader, using the Device, or when the Booting animation of android appears (slow animation or with a "fps of 0,05").
Please help me!
Device: BQ M5
Had Android 5.1.1. on it and Installed xposed sdk22 arm, and installed SuperSu via TWRP.
All files were downloaded from official posts here on xda, or from the brands website.
p.s. Even the littlest information which could help, please share!
p.p.s Here's a video that shows whats going wrong. After the reboot the booting animation continues like this around 1-3min. and then at the unlock screen, the "lag" still remains. What i noticed too, is that the charging animation in the top right is running flawlessly, however opening apps and all the rest is really slow!

I got my hands on a Galaxy Grand 2 sm-g7105. Performed a factory reset from device and the system worked nicely enough. A particular third party app I wanted to use wouldn't load so I kept tweaking.
I rooted and set up a CWM recovery with Odin, then considered going with Resurrection Remix. I made a backup with CWM, wiped the device and set it up. It looked great but 'audioFX.apk' or something along those lines kept crashing every 30 seconds or so. It didn't cause me any problem besides the annoying crash notification, so i figured I could just remove the apk and be done with it. To my dismay, then the notification then piled up non-stop and the system become unusable.
I went and restored the backup on CWM. Then I'd get error notifications for this and that stopping working (basically the apps present on the backup that weren't on the stock rom), so I figured the backup was useless. Another mistake, I guess.
Performed another wipe, deleted the backup for space. Tried removing every piece of bloatware I could find before unrooting (I wanted to do that). Finally everything seemed to roll... except I deleted some important apk, SecDownloadManager I've come to believe, and at that point the Play Store couldn't update a thing, it got stuck on 'Downloading'.
So I did another wipe, just to find out that didn't restore the missing apks. Got my hands on a stock rom for my model (a different build than my origibal one, but to hell with it... right?). I got that working work Odin, but to my surprise that didn't seem to completely restore the apk mess, and I got a ton of crash apl notifications and even after logging on Google the play store didn't let me in to try and see if apps could update.
Finally, I found what is supposed to be the device's original rom. Odin'd it all the way. Everything seems to be where it belongs, but I cannot really check 'cause... NOW THE ****ING WI-FI WON'T TURN ON. It's not like it doesn't connect to my network, it just won't activate. I press the switch, or goes back off.
I tried rebooting, taking out the battery for some seconds, performing a factory reset from within the system, wiping from CWM, dialing *#0011# to access service mode and deactivating power-saving mode. Nothing works.
HELP, please.
I'd be happy if the WiFi just worked, but knowing why the hell a stock rom should give any headache or what I'm doing wrong for it to go so wrong might be a step towards the solution.
PS: I'm writing this as I recall, so the details might not be completely spot-on, but the broader problems were those.
