Can someone with more knowledge explain this to me...
Not that I care a lot about the front camera but on Pocophone website the front camera is advertised as 20 mp but when I use Gcam or any hardware info app, the front camera has only 5mp, why?
It's actually a 20mp sensor . either hardware info app or gcam are getting information of IR camera which is 5mp or other thing could be that as it does pixel binning (4 pixels into 1 for better low light photography) thus 20mp into 5mp

Gcam is limited to 5mp by Google.
It's because of pixel binning..
4pixel = 1 pixel
20mp=5mp

No its just limitation of camera2api
Try to use gcam and after stock camera app (take a front camera picture) you will see the difference..
If u have a doubt try other camera apps
What is the main point in camera is quality
N u r getting that . So that's it bro
N appreciate that guy who have ported this app
For his hard work
So bro don't see other things when you are getting best quality ...

I am not complaining about the Gcam port, actually that is great to have, my question comes because I have an app called Devcheck that shows info about the hardware and there too the front camera shows only 5mp.
Can Anyone suggest an hardware app that detect the front camera as a 20mp?
You can confirm the specs cameras with device info HW app.

Great thanks
Could someone with the device confirm what type of camera support this device has through the app "Camera2 API probe" or similar.
Hopefully it works well since I saw someone has the Gcam working.
Thanks & Kind Regards,
Josh

Attached is your answer....however would like to tell you one thing that gcam is better on those devices where OEM can't provide a good cam app which is not the case with OPPO, camera app on this device is already great. I don't think so gcam will do any wonders.
Thanks @mohitgalaxy3 . Wondered if the Camera2 API exposed the other 2 cameras too (wide angle and Tele) since people keep saying about the lack of video capability on the other lenses but maybe could have been possible. Looks like it's only the primary lens.

I hope that Oppo enable video capabilities for other two sensors.
Oppo is working on the software part and I know dark mode is coming soon for Color OS.
Do we have realme camera port ? since gcam is not doesn't support all sensor provided it would be great if someone can provide realme camera port

That's true about the lenses.
Unfortunately I couldn't find a Gcam port with working 64MP mode though...
Does somebody know whether that exists already?
Urnyx05 gcam
I have been using Urnyx05 gcam for past couple of weeks and it's good , support all 4 lenses good for general uses https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/cfiles/gcm1/GCam_7.3.018_Urnyx05-v2.1.apk

You won't find working 64mp on any Gcam port. You can get all lenses working and I believe a max of 48mp. That will still get you good photos. Higher megapixels doesn't always mean better pictures. I think you'd be satisfied.

I'm using Urnyx05's GCam port for some months now and am really satisfied. Still I would like to use the full resolution of the sensor to have more detail and be able to zoom in closer. Also using all the Quad Bayer features of the sensor would come in very handy. Otherwise it's just a waste of potential.

Unfortunately to use 64mp you would need to be running stock. I feel you tho, I run AOSP ROMs without Gapps, so I'm limited to just the main sensor at 16mp.

I cannot get the 4K video working at all,
it crushes & shuts down.
have you tried that?
I reported at:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=83781077&postcount=2600
when change video res to 4K, it crashes and app shuts down
Dear Friends & Developers,
I installed it.
It works great except when I change the video res to 4K, app shuts down, whereas it works in full hd .
I was wondering if it can be fixed.
because I enjoy other functions of the program and I appreciate very much for the hard work.
I hope you fix it so that I could use your program rather than the phones default cam which takes 4K videos without any problem
all the best

Not going to happen. Only way to use stock camera is with stock firmware. If you want all working lenses on a custom rom then you will need Urnyx05 gcam.
Well, it is not what the OP asked for, but there are two free and open source Apps that can help with the Camera:
1. Open Camera - go into settings and enable Camera API V2. the quality of the pictures and videos are good.
2. FDcam - it allows you to use all the cameras, except for the depth camera. They all work.
Unfortunately, none of them get get more than 16Mpixels out of the main camera.
Discuss about the S21 GCam Ports here whenever they're out
Is that the Google Camera? Being a Pixel owner the last few years I would love it if the camera app worked on the S21.

Yeah there are already google camera ports for the S20 and they will probably make it compatible or make a good config with the S21

Congrats! it's a great phone
also GCam might not get ported to the exynos version (or it will but will take more time than the snapdragon version) i'm not sure though
Was able to try out Gcam on a Snapdragon store demo model today. Works similar to S20/Note 20 series in that front camera still doesn't work and Zoran's package fix enables the telephoto cameras to work. Pictures of all 4 rear cameras attached using Wichaya's gcam, might not look the best since I quickly used my S20 Ultra's profile without having time to tweak it.
Is there much benefit to GCam here? Samsung's app looks good from what I've seen.
On my Oneplus 6 it was useful, as the Oneplus app lacks panorama and Googles image processing is better.

It depends on whether or not you like Samsung's image processing. I personally still don't though will admit they have improved over time. The biggest issue is still under lower light, where they have aggressive sharpening and noise reduction. Fine details are often a problem indoors, like hair or fur. The main camera's sensor is pretty large so that helps, but the ultra wide and telephoto sensors aren't so it's more noticeable.
For those curious, I used Wichaya's Samsung Gcam here (3rd one): https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/f/changelog1501/
I've not used gcam before - you can still just switch between the apps can't you? If so, it'd be good to have both and compare
how do we get the 2 zoom lenses to work with the above gcam ?

Got my Snapdragon S21 Ultra and here are my findings so far. It seems Gcam will freeze up more often in low light (you can unfreeze it by switching cameras, but it will freeze again after a few seconds). Telephoto camera and ultra wide are more likely to freeze because they have a smaller sensor thus less light. I've updated my XML for Wichaya's gcam that should work a little bit better.
*UPDATE* seems like setting stream configs helps stability and reduces/gets rid of freezing. Attached is updated XML.

ZGCAM 7.4 https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/f/changelog1340a/
Alright guys, just an update on my findings. It would appear that ZGcam is actually the best Gcam build for the S21 series right now on both Exynos and Snapdragon models. For some reason I can't seem to fully disable focus tracking so autofocus in lower light can be a hit or miss. There are also differences between the models though based on what Samsung has chosen to support and what they disable.
Snapdragon S21 series: Supports all rear cameras (for the S21 Ultra, that includes both the 3x and 10x telephoto). No gcam support video on the telephotos at the moment. Front facing cameras also do not work because Samsung disabled front camera RAW for S10/S20/S21 snap series with the exception for the S10 Lite and S20 FE.
Exynos S21 series: I don't own this but based on reports, the front camera will work! However, the telephoto cameras won't, so Exynos S21 series only support the main and ultra wide cameras. Since I don't have the Exynos model, try the XML for the Exynos S20 here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/working-gcam-and-config-for-s20-exynos.4203625/

I just posted on reddit since it's easier to do captions there. I only posted the telephoto cameras since they have a smaller sensor and benefit the most from gcam in my opinion.
https://www.reddit.com/r/samsung/comments/lb89no
Any chance of the Exynos model getting a gcam port that works with the telephot lenses?
According to TechNick's review video, Xperia 1 III has no option to record 60fps in full 4K resolution of 3840×2160 (16:9), but only cropped 3840×1644 (21:9), even in Cinema Pro. Is this true? If so, would there be any workaround to record 3840×2160 @ 60fps? I pray someone makes a mod to unlock this functionality.

There's a free and open-source solution if the camera hardware supports 4k60 - OpenCamera. Works great with recent Sony phones because there isn't too much proprietary stuff in camera hardware.
