Need help with partitions - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello for 2 days I was trying to use cm 13 (because I wanted to try it) but while doing that I might of messed up the partitions when changing and using different pits. For example when using mini OpenGapps it says no space for /system or something similar to that (I know that your not supposed to use bigger Gapps because it can slow down the phone down but I wanted to try) and for when using TWRP and pressing Repair or change File System it says invalid partiton selection and it is very hard to find a way to fix these issus but other things work it doesnt say anything about unable to mount partitions and the phone works when using LOS 17.1 so is there anyway to make it not show these error messages and not show error messages some times so if anyone has any fixes or suggestions please tell me. :crying:
(I am new to xda and flashing roms in general so if this makes no sense sorry.)
(I have the 16gb i1900 international!)
If anyone has a suggestion or something I can do or knows a way to fix this please tell me. Thank you for reading. :highfive:

Hyundai A7HD - Internal Storage damaged

My Tablet (Hyundai A7HD) with CM9 (unofficial) started behaving very strange.
It doesnt recognize my sd card, nor its own internal nand storage anymore. (Apps from Google Play can still be installed on its App partition tho)
I dont know what to do, since i cant even flash an update through CWM anymore without a functioning storage medium.
the sd card works fine on my pc and i cant format the internal storage through my tablet.
what else can i do to fix this?
I already made a post about this (more than a month ago) where someone advised me to use ADB. But that doesnt work, so i installed Connectbot, which works.
The person who told me to install it back then stopped replying, and even after posting in that thread to keep it alive, i recieved no more replies. So maybe with this new thread someone might be able to help me.
I am grateful for any help you can offer.
once ever met SD card unread, but some trouble like you seems if it couldnt solved by reboot ,it would be a serious matter that might not ONLY the system damage.maybe hardware damaged

Im not sure it actually is hardware, since the app-space should only be a partition of the NAND storage. If this partition works, i think the hardware should be fine.
does factory default work ?do it,May fix the software reason.if no effect, send it to factory and fix it:what:this might the last measure you can do.

Factory reset and normal firmware update dont work anymore because cm9 is installed.
Tablet is from china, so no warranty.
i find many people had Chinese device, honesty,i was a college student from China.and i wish i can help anyone who has problem about Chinese device ,app,....language translation....but seems i couldnt help you this time@_@the hardware should be in trouble

I still think its only a software issue, to be honest.
I think this might just be fixable.
I also think so,i searched your device in Chinese page but failed to find any useful info for your problem, sorry

Still, i thank you very much!
Maybe someone else has any idea how to make this work again!
i sure hope so...
EDIT: I finally managed to flash it back to stock!
Apparently my anti-virus program prevented Livesuit from flashing it!
Now everything works beautifully again!
Im so happy right now ; )

[Q] Link2sd not working properly

Hi people!
I´ll like to ask something that has been bothering me; here´s some context:
I have a very very low end android phone (motorola xt303) and it was working the best it could, i was using link2sd normally (with an issue that i will tell you in a moment)... then the power button failed, i took it to waranty and they change the motherboard, basically i have a "new" phone now (On the inside xD)
Here´s the thing when i got my phone back, i rooted it and installed link2sd right away , i formated the 2nd partition of the SD before all of that, but now when i´m trying to link the apps i have a problem: if i just pick Link application it would work but if i choose to also link dalvik caché and libraries it won´t work, it would tell me: "Fail Create_link.blablablablablalbla: I/O error" - Check attached image.
What i´m doing or what i did wrong? before waranty i could link both dalvik and the libraries.
-And the other issue i had before (and now) was that even if linked most of my apps (Had in the internal storage the basics and most used (no more than 40MB) it would took my memory and ended up without space again (i had a bunch of apps tho), but i´ve found on foroums people who have many apps and most of the internal space avaliable.
I will really appreciate any help,.
Pd: if there´s something that you don´t fully understand about my writing i´ll try to explain to you (English is not my native lang)
Pd2: Really googled and searched here before posting but couldn´t really find anything that helps with my problem
No clue?

Sola - keyboard process being killed

I tried to resolve this problem in general help discusion but no luck.
Here's the problem:
I have xperia sola white - really unhappy with very slow laggy stock rom .54, so I flashed ultimate rom v11.
First time I did it, I had no problem but keyboard which is after few minute after restart started to keep disappearing... I found out, that I'm not the only one having this problem, tried to solve with locking it in memory, change OOM after restart to -17,.... nothing so far helped.
Now I tried second shot, fresh ftf stock .54 and everything carefully flash again, guess how it end up. At first I was really happy, because it looked like problem solved, but today I'm chating on fb and that piece of... started to do it again.
Maybe it started to do this problem after I changed QWERTY to QWERTZ and downloaded czech vocabulary. Dunno, today I'm gonna experiment with it.
Maybe the problem isn't in ROM, maybe the problem is keyboard it self. Is there any way (maybe in terminal,...) how to figure out, why the process crashed?
Or please is there anyone who experienced similar problem and solved it? When I was listing xda, I found out, there are many of us dealing with this
Did you try to replace the keyboard to stock?
Actually it¨s what I¨m trying to do right now, but there is another problem (as allways), root explorer won't let me mount as R/W in system folder. Trying to bypass it somehow.... with something ... I let you know, thx for (any) respond

Won't let you mount RW why? Does it has root privilages?
I don't know, this phone is killing me :/
Yes, app aks for permission root, I give it access and still it shows that I'm in R/o mode
->
This is interesting, I can't even mount /system/ in cwm, wtf?
edit:
Tried different kernel, now it let me in

Anything else that needs root works?
This custom kernel or stock?
I was using Phantom kernel, different kernel did the work... So now I deleted old kb and replaced it by stock kb from ics and guess what happend . I guess I need JB keyboard. Looking for it right now
So honami kb deleted, installed stock kb and google kb. If the problem was the keyboard, you probably won't hear from me anymore
Thank you for help
note:
please don't lock this topic, I have this feeling that this is not the end
I'm on stock kb and google kb... Problem remains, any idea?
I'll try to dump some log later, maybe someone would be wise from it.

How to get access to root filesystem (or fix permissions)?

I'm trying to copy some files to the root of my Ultra 6833 filesystem but I keep getting a "no space" error. I searched a bit and found out that this may be caused by either permissions needing to be fixed or a device specific restriction that has to be removed.
Well I can't find "fix permissions" option in CWM recovery or ROM Manager anymore. Can someone please point me in the right direction to fix this thanks.
Edit: Sorry brainfart happened - I can use fix permissions in ROM Manager (not Toolbox) - but that hasn't fixed the issue.
I'm using PAC 12-13-13 firmware if that makes a difference.
Edit: Sorry fixed it ... forgot you had to mount the partition. Maybe I should go back to bed?

Lols... Brainfarts aside, I personally love to see people's processes written like this, makes me giggle. Well done for sorting it and this is a good guide for others should they face the same issue.
Sent from my C6833 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

I flashed a Custom ROM and now my SD card appears mounted as Phone Storage.

Hello, I'm new to XDA and would appreciate some help for an issue I'm having with my phone, I have a Blu Studio 5.0S in which I flashed a custom ROM based on MIUI v5 with Jelly Bean, my phone had a stock Jelly Bean ROM, I don't know if I'm doing the flashing steps right because I am wiping Data, Cache and Dalvik Cache only, even tho, I wiped System too once and the issue persists.
My phone has 4GB storage in 2 partitions, one for the system and the second one is used as SD when there's no SD in, but if I do put an SD in, that second partiton stops working as SD (If I had Apps installed in it, they won't work), and is mounted as "USB Storage/Internal SD", now, that's the normal way it is supposed to work, but when I flashed the custom ROM, MIUI keeps detecting my SD as Phone Storage (The second partition that is useless for installing apps in it) and detects the second partition as Phone Storage, What I want is to keep the MIUI based ROM but having my storage in the right order, otherwise I have a 32GB SD useless and a phone running out of space for my apps. I did not find any help in the threads and I'd really appreciate if someone can help me to solve this problem, sorry if my english is not that clear and thanks in advance.
You won't find much MIUI help here. Not many people really use it and the only ones that work on it are porters.

To be honest Where ever you got the rom from. As the MIUI developers sont deal with bug reports that come from non Xiaomi devices, it is closed source so cant really do a whole lot other wise.

That's what I did, posting the question in the thread from where I got the ROM, just afraid none's gonna reply since the one guy who was dealing with this stuff doesn't own such devide now and stopped testing stuff, I just thought if the problem has something to do with the kind of partitions in one and other system someone would guide me to look for a way to solve my problem by myself.
Thanks a lot Mr. Zelendel, a hug from Colombia!
So... I just found out that this ROM had an App (In mandarin chinese) to switch the Internal Storage and External Storage (SDCard0- SDCard1), and that's one of the first Apps I was uninstalling every time I flashed, I have no idea if this is an App made by Xiaomi or the porter of this

did something about it, but now I can say this ROM is perfect and works very smoothly on my device.
