Hi,
I'd like to recover data from a Samsung Galaxy A51 .
The phone is locked and I don't have the pincode (forgotten), I've been able to turn it off (only with USB connected, otherwise asks pin) and put it in recovery mode, but from there couldn't reboot to bootloader/download mode... (the phone just restart normally).
I think USB debugging is disabled too...
I was looking into adb commands with clockworkmod installed to pull data out, but I can't find a way to flash it to the phone..
I'm fairly new to Android but I have experience with computers and procedures.
How can I achieve the data recovery?
Thank you very much for your help.

If you can't unlock the screen and if USB debugging was not enabled before the issue started, you will not be able to recover your data.

Have a new screen fitted. If kies cant do it and you cant flash nothing your options are limited.

You can't access your data while the phone is locked because android blocks mtp... If all you want to do is access your internal storage, you can try flashing TWRP in Odin and then accessing your internal storage using mtp in TWRP.
Try the following:
boot into download mode with home+volume down+power, after some time press volume up to confirm download mode activation
flash TWRP via ODIN (dropbox#com/s/3ir2eqsx8ewgj8m/twrp-2.8.7.3-i9300.tar?dl=1 Link for twrp-2.8.7.3-i9300.tar)
after you notice successful flash in odin: prevent auto-reboot by long pressing power-button
reboot to recovery mode | with home+volume up+power
connect s3 with usb, MTP connection should be enabled by itself
tricky part is at point 4./5.

I think the answer of your problem is to open your Google account.
I have a Verizon SCH-I435 gx4 mini and I forgot my pin. Android device manager can't help me put it into lost mode and over ride screen lock. The interesting part is when I boot into recovery and go to factory data restore as a last option it says it's in display mode (MTM). The phone boots into Odin mode just fine. On all my phone I always turn on USB debugging which I believe if you have a pc you need to enable to use Odin correct me if I'm wrong. So if there's a way to keep my files safe and use my phone again it would be appreciated.

Let's make Points
1-Odin Doesn't require any USB-Authentication such as Debugging Enabled
2-Only adb Requires Debugging
3-Great Thing you enabled it.
Now you can Apply two ways.
One you can boot into recovery and go into adb.Now on PC install adb and connect it to your phone(Go read a Tuto or watch a Video on how to do it)Now remove the locksettings.db file from /data partition(Use google to find the exact location)
Or you can pull the locksetting.db copy to your PC and crack the code using hashcat. But I recommend the first one.Next Time be cautious and if you don't know how to delete files using adb go read how to.

I've got a Samsung Galaxy Alpha, (SM-G850a) and I'm trying to get data off of it. There's a password, usb debugging is off. I've tried enabling the debugging through the adb console, but that hasn't worked as of yet. Is there a way to create an image, or entire copy of the phone with all of the data and get it imported to say an os box, or just get the data through the recovery mode? Thanks!

Update: Forgot to add that the phone is in MTP mode, and shows up in my file explorer on the pc, but because of the password (which I know but can't put in), I can't access any of the data through that.
So i forgot the PIN number on my old phone which was not rooted, had no recovery software (Cwm, Xrec, etc.) installed on it, and has usb debugging and auto-mount disabled. We don't know the google account associated with the phone. Basically all I have is the phone and a usb cable. Is there a way to get the user data out of it? Adb won't recognise the device btw. I do apologise if it's a stupid question. The phone automatically connected to the wifi, and I'm on Linux, if that helps. But I managed to get into recovery but adb only recognises the device in sideload mode. The files inside the phone is extremely important to me because it contain photo of my family member that were passed away.
Phone: Vivo V7 Plus
I wanted to try brute-force the PIN with program but unfortuntely the phone will cool down for 7000 second (3hours+)
A phone typically knows of 2 USB modes: ADB & MTP. If MTP mode was enabled and phone supports a USB-C connection then it should be possible to fetch the user-data you're interested in.

Hi, first of all thanks for your respond. In order to enable MTP i need to have the phone unlock right? how can i enable MTP if the phone is locked ?
All I know is that ADB is the door to any Android device and nothing than that.
Hello guys.
I have a unique problem here. I have a Redmi Note 10 with a broken black screen. I want to access the phone to be able to backup all my files and if possible to use it with my PC with Vysor or Cast. Because I am still not able to repair the screen right now. And I would also like to have backed up my files before it is repaired.
So I've tried many youtube tutorials to access the phone but it seems none of them can help me because not only can't I see anything on the screen but also I have a very complicated pattern so it is impossible to guess the pattern with a mouse. The screen itself is dead so it doesn't respond to touch.
But I want to believe that I can be able to access my phone because my phone is rooted with Magisk and I'm running a custom rom - Crdroid version 8.9 Android 12. I also have a PC. I am able to get into Crdroid recovery when I press volume up + power button. I am also able to enter into fastboot mode when I press volume down + power button.
I'm stating all this because I want to know if there is any way I can be able to backup my files or access the phone with my laptop. I saw that one can be able to access their phone if Developer Options are turned on. Mine were turned off before the screen broke. Is there any way I can be able to turn them on in my situation?
Please help.
try to boot twrp in fastboot.
fastboot boot twrp.img
i think mtp is activated automatically. problem is if it will ask for the unlock pattern on twrp
Okay

So if I boot into TWRP, the computer will be able to read my files automatically?
i think there is no hope in your state...
complicated screenlock + fully dead screen + developer options turned off
if you had USB Debugging enabled you could use this software to use the phone on the PC like in the picture because i have a phone in the same status like yours but USB Debugging was enabled.
with twrp you can save your internal storage files but it will ask for pattern and you won't be able to access those files without unlocking it.
so i guess the only way is trying to guess the pattern with a mouse... i know that will be really hard but is the only thing i can suggest.
otherwise just take your phone to a repair shop

Okay. I guess I'll just take it to the repair shop then since it's impossible to guess that pattern. Thank you for your reply.
