Black screen issue, i can't restart the phone - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi! I'd like some help.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S10e (SM-G970F).
The power button is faulty, I got it back from service yesterday, unfortunately it was not repaired because the device is rooted.
Before I handed it in for service, I was able to turn it on without the power button (download mode -> restart), but now the download mode is not available either.
And it doesn't indicate charging either, the display is completely black at all times.
Yesterday the computer recognized it as a drive, but it showed only one TWRP folder. Today, unfortunately, the computer does not even recognize it, nothing happens when the usb cable is connected.
Is it possible that the device has remained in some service mode?
Somehow I would have to reboot or get into download mode, I just don’t know how..
So now:
The display is completely dark.
It does not respond to buttons.
The power button is broken.
It does not indicate charging.
The download mode does not start. (volmune down + bixby button & connect usb data cable -> nothing happens.)
The computer does not indicate a usb connection.
The adb doesn't see either: error '(null)' not found.
What can I do?

To me it seems phone's boot-loader is broken: a working boot-loader would start Android's "init" process what automatically starts ADB on phone, if USB-debugging got enabled on phone, what in turn would make the phone accessable via USB.

Thanks for the reply.
However, I have new news about the device.
I realized that the device itself works, only the display is always dark.
I disassembled, unplugged the battery from the motherboard, and switched back to download mode and Odin recognized it.
I managed to update the software on it, the device restarted fine, only the display is completely dark.
The computer already recognizes it, I can give a command via adb, and I can hear the volume button when pressed.
The only problem is that there is no picture on the display.
I reconnected the display connector to the motherboard, but that wasn't the problem.
When the power is off, the display does not indicate that the charger is connected.
Does anyone have any idea what else I can do?

Tablet won't power on anymore.

I was using my tablet while finishing charging. I was about 95%. Suddenly it just went black and won't turn back on. Any ideas? I've tried holding the power button with no results. Is there a special reset or something?
Anyone else have this issue or things I can try to fix it?

Have you tried PC Companion? Download it for Windows then try to locate for emergency repair. It will show you instructions of how to put your tablet in flash mode.

I haven't tried that specifically, but would it not fail if the light didn't even go on when plugged in, and my pc doesn't even read it as connected?

Not really, for example in some samsung devices even if the device wont turn on the a JIG plug was able to put the phone on download mode, something very similar to flash mode on the xperia mobiles.
So i guess the last thing you can try is to put the tablet in flash mode, you can download a FTF file with the firmware compatible with your device, and download flashtool from: Click here to download and then put your tablet on flash mode. I guess you will need first the drivers Click here to see drivers and after you install the drivers, just open flash tool press the vol down key and connect the usb cable to the tablet, and if you see that flashtool or maybe windows recognizes your tablet you may have luck to restore it.
So if you get it into flash mode, then just flash the FTF and let's see what happens.
Let me know.
I will give it a test this evening or tomorrow - thanks! I will post back if it works.
PC Companion doesn't detect the tablet, nor does my PC at all in device manager. It doesn't respond like anything is plugged in, but it did before.
Flashtool comes up with nothing either - once again doesn't even acknowledge anything is plugged in.
Thanks for the suggestions, though.

I read your issue. Read my first post again - yours is simply a crash. Mine does not charge, has no power LED, and is completely unresponsive. No recovery button combination or anything works - yours turns on and responds to things.
so when you try vol up and power button do you not see the white led flash once then a couple seconds later three times? if it does it means your tablet can still be put into flash mode with some perseverance.
Edit: you could try sony mobiles flash tool called Emma which has its own way of entering flash mode (think you hold vol down and plug the usb cable in the computer) and see if that program can detect your tablet but you can use the instructions provided on their website if your unsure what to do.
same sitation
I have the same problem with my tablet. I watched stock photos in album and then display switched off. And that's the end.
Nothing happens when I try to power on, reboot or restore with Companion. Computer doesn' detect device. The same situation with Emma and flashtool.
I used my new-bought tablet only for 15 minutes)))
Mine ended up needing replacing due to a fried mainboard. Did you leave yours plugged in overnight?
Ok something strange happen to the tab I never had problem before I left the headphone plugged in a press the power button to close the screen (I always do that) when I try to use the tab there was nothing on screen double tab the screen nothing, hold the power button nothing put the tab in the cradle nothing the led was not turning on but the usb cable direct to the pc and than the charger nothing. I press the volume up and power button the tab led blink and was able to restart the tab. ??????????
Same thing just happened to me. Power button would not turn on the Z. LED would not turn on when charged. Did a hard reset and it came back on. Model: SGP312.

Pc companion will not work in thta situation cause it needs the device to be powered on...
In that case have you try the SUS http:/sonymobile.com/gb/tools/update-service/
Just follow the instructions and you will be fine
It will erase the entire internal memory though, sd is fine..

[Q] Help! Phone soft bricked.

So I rooted my phone 3 months ago. Using the external 64g card trick and everything went perfect.
Had SU installed, and titanium running.
January 1st my phone battery died while riding home on my motorcycle or was close. I had it on the charger when it died. The phone went into a reboot mode. It has the battery, with the circle in the middle and vibrating every few seconds.
I can get into the recover mode when plugged into the samsung wall charger. But I can only get into download mode on usb with computer.
Using odin 3 v3.09.
I loaded it up with the jflte_usa_vzw_16g.pit file in the pit section.
Then loaded up all_i545vruemk2_i545vzwemk2_1937946_rev06_user_low_ship_muti_cer.tar.md5 in the AP section
Thinking the above would be the most up to date. I'm traveling and need the phone and not worried about root anymore.
So it went through the md5 checking. Good
Then without changing any other settings I hit start.
13 minutes later, I get a reset above the id:com
I let it go with out touching the phone.
Then it gives me a pass without any errors.
So I unplugged my phone off the usb cable, pull the battery. Reinstall after 30 seconds. Nothing.
I plug into the usb and it goes back to battery icon and circle like nothing happened.
I can get into download on usb to computer
And recovery only on wall charger
I did try a factory reset and cache reset
Looked like it worked
But phone unchanged.
I then tried the kies firmware and initialization mode.
Loaded up my sch-i545 then my IMEI,
It conects, downloads, installs, finishes, no errors
Unplug and dead, plug in usb, battery icon and circle,
Plug to wall, recover mode,
So phone seems like its taken both updates without errors. But acts unchanged.
Would the vibration from my handle bar mount cause a sudden issue? I've been running this set up for months without issue.
I'm at a loss. I read is you can get it into download mode it should be able to get recovered.
Tried all I know and have read about.
So now with phone plugged into the samsung wall charger.
I went to download mode, selected re-start
Phone booted,
Samsung, unlocked padlock
Samsung blue purple splash screen. (Blue led light)
Verizon screen almost fully loaded (blue led light)
Then phone shuts off, goes back to battery icon with circle.

did you ever find a solution for this? This seems like the exact same problem I am having with my phone. Everything was working until it lost power. Now the power button will not turn device on. It will only turn on when connected to usb computer or wall charger and just shows an empty battery sign. It seems to reboot every 15 seconds from this. If I go into download mode and chose restart phone it gets to the white verizon loading screen and reboots. I can get to both download and recovery mode and flashed the stock full wipe and PIT file and this process succeeded but the phone is still doing the same thing.

My i545 is a similar phenomenon.
I am afraid to say, that as far as I know, with the Knox bootloader, it disallows any upgrading what so ever. I have heard of this bricking devices. The only way out of this is to see if you can reflash the most current ROM, but I am unsure if even that will work.

[Q] Phone will not tuen back on

In sum, earlier today I was using my phone with no problems-- calls, texts, using apps etc. I went to 'close my screen' when I was done using it and I realized the side power/lock screen button was not working and my screen was not responding when I wanted to lock it. I removed the battery hoping it would reset the phone and fix what was wrong but now my phone will not turn back on. I plugged the phone into the wall for at least 30 minutes as well as plugging it in the computer for quite some time. No response from the phone at all. (no charging icon, computer is not detecting the usb cable when plugged into computer, etc.)I also held the buttons down to try to power on as well.
I was wondering if there was a way to fix this problem, or somehow retrieve files (mainly pictures) from the phone,
Thank you for your help. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

I attempted to hold volume down, power and home buttons but the phone did not respond. The computer is also not recognizing it while plugged in via usb. The button does not seem to be 'stuck' as i can still hear a slight clicking sound when I press it.
Try removing the battery and hold power down for 30 seconds and then try installing the battery again.
Try that ^
maybe a jig might help

LG G5 Unresponsive

Ever since a few days ago, my LG G5 became very unresponsive. I can only turn off my phone by taking out the battery (which is probably not good) and when I turn on my phone, it only stays responsive for about 10 seconds before I cannot do anything; I can't turn off the phone using the power button (nor hold it down for a hard power off), I can't turn up or down the volume, I can't touch my screen anywhere. At first I thought this might be a hardware problem, and it might still be, but when I turn on the phone it stays perfectly responsive for 10 seconds. No problem turning on and off the phone, volume works and I can touch the screen. Then the phone freezes. The screen is still on and working as notifications are popping up and the wifi and service bars are still going up and down. All I am trying to do is turn on file transfer to send all my photos and videos to my computer. My phone is cracked pretty badly at the top and I do get a static line through my phone but giving the fact that it works for the 10 seconds, I wasn't sure if it had to do anything with the screen and power button becoming unresponsive.
P.S. I am getting a new phone but I would really like to get the photos and videos off this phone. If there is a way to turn on file transfer without using the screen then please let me know too.
EDIT: I think that there are some spots on the screen that are ghost touching as the pull down menu seems to shake and the phone occasionally turns off on its own (double tapping same spot)
Hi, if you have TWRP installed (or USB debugging already enabled) you can use the ADB PULL command to retrieve the photos from the phone. You can also simply use the MTP transfer by just connecting the phone to the PC with the cable.
If you have an OTG USB adapter you can connect a mouse to the phone and use it instead of the touchscreen to do what you want.
Then, when you have retrieved you photos, you may try to factory reset the phone by booting in stock recovery (if you don't have TWRP) or wiping system partition and reinstalling the ROM (if you have TWRP), to check if the unresponsiveness is caused by the broken touchscreen or maybe by some virus.

So I did figure out a way to connect my phone to my computer by using Vysor. Because Charging only was enabled, I couldn't transfer my files. So when using Vysor I turned on File Transfer which then got the phone to be able to transfer files. Fast forward to today I remembered that I also need to save my contacts so I tried using Vysor again but now because the phone is on File Transfer only I can't use it. Do you know of a way to switch back to original settings?

Maybe the contacts are saved in Google Contacts, try logging into the website and see what shows up.

Auto Power On when connected to USB Charger

Has anyone ever tried to set-up the Tab S6 to auto power on when connected to USB charger, without rooting device?
I'm thinking of adding this to my car. I can have the device power down with MacroDroid, but still need to figure how to turn it on when I don't have access to the Power Button.
I did find a video that someone was able to do this back in 2016
https://youtu.be/Zp9G6A6EFlA
But when I boot into recover mode, it can't get the fastboot reboot to detect my Samsung S10+. So I'm afraid it might happen with this too.
