Developpers options on, usb debugging actived but not usable the selection is greyed (mtp, ptp, charge, network share, ...)
Bootloader unlocked, sim unlocked, no twrp so I used fastboot to flash the gsi
Not google certified smartphone so I need a way to flash gapps somehow.

Usb debugging is under the developer settings. And this menu is greyed out when you open it while the device isn't connected to a pc. Your cable may be faulty, or it could be the drivers in your PC.
Hope that helped

Not the cable, it's tested with various cable and the regular original cable is near brand new and work well, I have had the motorola mobile drivers removed, repair, reinstalled a few times, the issue is something else and that's why I ask before pulling my hair off ...
@spikemcc
You have to enable "USB tethering" too.

Checked a little furter, seem a drivers issue or similar, I have the motorola drivers but maybe the device act like another, either pixel drivers or universal drivers might help ...
I seem motorola adb interface but an usb mtp device is still shown, probably the moto e6.

I am having the problem very similar to this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1317916&highlight=USB+does+-work
Though the poster has abandoned the question so I thought it wise to repost.
What I have seen:
When Plugging my device into any computer using any USB cable the result is the same.
If on - nothing happens; no notice on the PC and no charge on the phone. I have tried with debugging on/off, I have tried USB Mass storage mode no difference.
If off - It will turn on the phone and then the phone will show charging state though it will lose a charge and the PC will not say a device was plugged in. Also if phone is unplugged after it is on it will continue to say it is charging until a reboot.
If in Recovery Mode - Mounting any form of drive is not seen by the computer.
If in Download Mode - Device will say charging and drivers will attempt to install on the computer and I will see an unaccessible folder in "computer" that says "samsung i-9100"
I have just checked the web for updates and it says none found. To my limited understanding I am using a Stock ROM with an edited Kernel to give me root access.
I performed the update of the Kernel identically on both my and my fathers Identical phones and his has not had any problems. The only difference between the two is He is still on AT&T US; While I have moved to Hungary. But as I said the problem existed before that
If there is ANYTHING I can gather or forgot to submit that may offer some light to my problem please let me know.
Thank-You Very much for reading.
Regards,
Joshua Puckett
Fixed - I was using the cable that came with my Storm 2 BlackBerry; and tried after that a Cable I had bought at Radio Shack.
Once I tried the original Sammy cable it all worked;
Thanks to those who looked!
My Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 with android version 4.1.2 (baseband version I9300UBELL1, Build Number JZO54K.I9300UBEMA1) stoped connect via USB after jelly bean update... i think...
When i connect the phone via usb, its keeping connecting and disconneting...
tried unnistall kies, uninstall samsung drivers, installed drivers, then kies,.... usb debugging, factory reset, wipes, etc...
tried everything.... and the phone still the same problem.
anyone know why?
Could be a driver issue. Try plugging it into your PC, then select Camera (PTP) and Windows should redetect the device. If it still doesnt work, reboot into download mode and plug the phone into your PC in that state. Windows should detect the device and install certain drivers. After that reboot the phone like normal and try again. This is what I do whenever Windows tells me my USB device has malfunctioned.

Well, KK has a few bugs on this device and I thought about downgrading to JB using LG Flash Tool. At 80% the USB cable just broke and the device just turned off (the battery was at 100%) and I wasn't able to go into Download mode again.
But, when I connect my phone to my pc (through a new USB cable), i can see my phone in Device Manager:
So I suppose the motherboard is not dead.
What can I do to revive it?
Could a JIG or this (I'm asking about this one as I don't have any factory ROM backup, and it will be hard to get one) work?

Hi,
I just bought a new laptop with USB-C port, and when I plug in my Xperia 1 III, it only charges the phone, and won't detect it as a storage device.
I'm using USB-C cable that I got inside original box.
Is there anything I can do to solve this problem?
Phone doesn't offer me to choose transfer mode, when I plug it to a laptop's USB-C port.
Go to Disk Management and scan for new devices. Access directly from there.
Is the driver for that phone installed, check Hardware Management>USB hubs etc try to update driver or roll back if that fails.
If it doesn't show, use known good cable and inspect phone C port for damage or contamination. Can the phone see other OTG devices?
Try another port on the PC.
Reboot PC.
Play with USB options in phone Developer options. If already on, try turning Developer options off.
Check Event Viewer in Windows for error messages after attempting to connect.
Play with it... you'll find to issue eventually.

I tried everything, and also change USB connectivity in Developers options to File transfer.
Is original cable that comes in a box able for data transfer, or only for charging the device?
I found this in specifications of my laptop, does this means that my USB-C port is unable to recognize my phone?

I doubt that's it. The protocols are generally backward compatible.
Have you got a USB-2 hub lying around? Try going thru that and see if it works.
Hi guys,
I just bought a new data cable (USB-A to USB-C), and it works perfectly.
Thank you for all information you provided

Hi guys absolutely pulling my hair out with this phone. I just want to USB tether my internet and I'm getting "CDC NCM No driver found" in Windows, and when I check Device Manager it just says Other -> CDC NCM with an exclamation mark. Searching Google has been incredibly useless on this issue. I've never had issues with any other phone like this before. Anyone know how to solve this? Thanks.
What version of windows? Did you try more than one computer or the PDF instructions listed here? https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/an...m-devices-arenamp39t-assigned-usbncm-dri.html

I haven't tried it on my Windows 10 Home PC but the issue is getting it on Windows 7. I followed these instructions but I don't see USBNcm Host Device in the update drivers list for Windows 7 and I don't know how to get it to appear.
have you tried the google usb driver?
Get the Google USB Driver | Android Studio | Android Developers
The Google USB Driver is required to perform adb debugging on Windows with Google devices.

Install the drivers that nutzfreelance linked. Have to disable driver signature verification on Windows for it to work. Mine were slightly out of date and stopped working on one of the phone updates. You also have to select USB tethering in two places:
Settings -> Network -> Hotspot
Dropdown menu: change "charging via USB" to USB tethering
It's probably been this way since Android 11 maybe? Pretty sure on 10 you didn't have to do step 2. Could be wrong though, haven't needed to tether for a couple of years.
