[Q] MMS APK

I tried to download and install the MMS apk so that I can have the uncompressed messages. However it is not letting me install the apk. I have tried posting to the official Q&A thread but it is not letting me ask or make a post on the thread. Is there an official walk thru or instructions for the zip??
?
nothing?

First, I will address etiquette, then I will address your question.
Etiquette:
According to the Forum Rules:
16. Bumping Threads (posting simply to force a thread to the top of the thread queue)
Do not "bump" a thread more than once per 24 hours.

I understand that you want to know your answer ASAP, but bumping threads so quickly doesn't really help anyone. It typically breeds sarcastic comments and doesn't make people like me more likely to answer your question. I have a giant post over here that addresses general etiquette and how to ask questions that are more-likely to be answered.. I'd recommend reading it
Also, it'd be helpful to know where you got your MMS Apk from. I'm assuming you're talking about Freeza's thread, but I cannot be certain, as you only mentioned a Q&A thread, but didn't link it.
Uncompressed MMS Apk:
The MMS apk is a system app. Unfortunately, you cannot install this APK just by clicking on it. The .zip file that is in Freeza's Thread can be flashed in a custom recovery (like TWRP). You can also manually install the SecMms.apk, but it takes a root access and a root file explorer. I personally use ES File Explorer, but there are a ton of root explorers out there. Next, you want to copy the SecMms.apk from the zip folder and paste it in your phone under "\system\app\". This is where system apks go. I just looked in my phone and it's located at "/system/priv-app/" so you may want to look in there. basically, just find your existing SecMms.apk and replace it. Then, I'd reboot my phone into recovery and fix permissions and you should be golden.
Hopefully this works for you.
ok
Ok so i useds twrp to flash the file and it said successful. is there a way to tell if it works? some type of test?
thanks for the help and the previous reply. Sorry about my etiquette.

Well, the easiest way to check is to send a picture message (make sure the picture file is ~2-3MB) to someone and then check the message details. Here's the message details from a picture I got from a friend a while ago. Notice how the size is quite small. He sent it from a phone without the mod.

no go
Ok here are the steps i performed.....
1. flashed zip using twrp
2. took apk from zip copied to /system/app (in twrp using file manager) verfied that it was the same file
3. fixed permissions in twrp
4. wiped devlik cache.
5. rebooted.
When i goto to try to send one of my images..a 4meg file it automatically compresses and re sizes the pic. Just wanted to make sure I didnt miss a step.
I used the zip named galaxy-note-fre3-mmsmod.zip
I am pretty sure those are all the right steps. The rom i am using is the Fre3-2.13
thanks for all the help.

CyanogenMod 12.1 ROM and TWRP for LG G3 Stylus (D690- D693n)

--Hi every one!--Finally the most wanted (!) tutorial all over the internet is published!!!-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*** Its result of hours and hours of struggle with my (poor) G3 Stylus, so if you want copy it anywhere, in any form please don't forget to mention me ***]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*** Good news for persians, if you can't understand this, i wrote this tutorial in persian at THIS address. Enjoy! ***
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*** The usual warning: I tested everything i say here on my own phone (G3 D690) and everything went good. but i'm not Responsible for anything that happen to your devices ***
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
it's not an official rom, so it have some bugs and i'm not the developer of it so i couldn't sovle all problems
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
All Links Changed and Tested and working properly!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So let's get down to business!
_______________________________________________________________________________________
1 - Root your phone
there are a lot of ways to root, but in my opinion it's better than the others
- Download KingRoot from MOD EDIT: REMOVED pay-per-click link anywhere
- Install and connect to inernet ( in some cases you'll need a VPN )
- simply press " Try Root " and wait
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
- Finished
_______________________________________________________________________________________
2 - Install TWRP Custom Recovery
- First Download these files " Pay per click link removed " - " Pay per click link removed " - " Pay per click link removed "
Installing Busy Box
- Install the apk file and grant root
- after progress bar filled hit the install.
- Finished
Custom Recovery
- extract TWRP zip file to your internal stroage
- Open TerMinal and write these command ( available in txt file in the zip)
Like this:
su [all letters lowercase]
[grant the root]
dd if=/storage/sdcard0/uboot.img of=/dev/uboot count=1024
dd if=/storage/sdcard0/recovery.img of=/dev/recovery count=32768
[you must not make a mistake here, after sending commands you must see message just like the picture below, any mistakes at here can cause HARD BRICK, so be careful]
if your phone is not like this
1. check the command again
or 2. put the files (twrp zip) in the externad sd card and replace " sdcard0" with " external_SD'
- if you see everything like the screenshot, you are finnished
- Now type this in terMinal
su
reboot recovery
now your phone will reboot to recovery
_______________________________________________________________________________________
3 - Installing ROM
- First Download the ROM from MOD EDIT: REMOVED - Pay per click sites not allowed .
- soon to continued

Still the same behavior. I also noticed that after rebooting, touch screen was not functional. I have to restart by holding power key then everything is back to normal.
