Was trying to figure out why I dont have the option to bluetooth tether to my car radio. Is this a Tmobile version of the phone thing?
Is there a way around it? Is it because its tmobile locked? or? any help would be appreciated, hopefully I am not f'd and have to deal with it
There is no problem tethering bluetooth with a PC...must be your radio capability.
Well I just don't even have the option on my phone. Settings > Network and Internet > Tethering.
Only 3 options I have is mobile hotspot and usb tethering and Help.
I go through the same menus on a friends g8x and they have Bluetooth tether option.
Wondering why I Dont?
I have the T-Mobile variant and confirm that bluetooth tethering is not available. It looks like TMobile removed it from most of their LG products. The LG G8X from my understanding is not officially carried by TMobile.
Good news though, you might have some luck with 3rd party apps like PDAnet or some other apps on play store for bluetooth tethering. I'll see if I can test it for you.
So the V60 won't connect to a vehicle? I haven't tried it, but I'm surprised I haven't heard more people complaining about that

I had absolutely no issue connecting mine to my car's infotainment system just pairing through the bluetooth settings. I normally use Android Auto, though, as my car's infotainment system has a well known delay through bluetooth (gen 3 Mazda3). Bluetooth tethering, though, should be for sharing the phone's internet connection. I also only see USB or wifi for tethering on my phone.

anyone got bluetooth tethering to work?
I have an Atrix on Cyanogen Mod 7 which allows my laptop to bluetooth tether to it, so I know it can do it. However when I pair my Sony Tablet to it, I don't get any options to do anything, let alone tether.
e.g. when I pair to headphones I get option to use as audio etc. but with my phone, i can only pair, I can't do anything else and no options / uses are presented.
what are you trying to do with your phone/tablet via bluetooth? Seems like it would be easier over wifi. If you're trying to tether via bluetooth that won't work, and beside bluetooth data transfers are super slow.
the advantage is that I don't have to manually toggle wifi hotspot on and off on my phone. I can just leave bluetooth on (on my phone, I also use BT headset so I leave it on anyway) and connect at will.
Does anyone know how many simultaneous bluetooth connections the S5 is capable of?
For example, I was initially worried that getting a Jawbone UP24 would not work alongside my Pebble watch, but it turned out to work fine. On top of that, I use my Jawbone Era headset constantly. So far everything works at the same time.
However, I was considering something called the Lockitron that has an option to unlock the door automatically via a bluetooth 4 connection.
If I got this in addition to my Pebble watch and Jawbone UP24, would this also work?
Thanks in advance to any help!!
I'm curious about being able to force my phone to use it's LTE data connection rather than a wifi network that it's connected to.
Here's why:
In my car, I have a head unit with a chromecast input through the hdmi port in the back. I put the chromecast there specifically to cast my phone's screen onto the head unit. Chromecast's screencasting works PERFECTLY for this purpose and I'm super happy with the performance
The problem comes in when I get to the fact that the chromecast can't cast my screen without an active internet connection. The dongle needs to download the casting app each time it starts, apparently.
My plan is to purchase a freedompop hotspot and go for the free 500mb a month plan, as the casting software for the chromecast is very small. The LTE connection on my phone is not an option because i'm not able to root, as well as whatever complications would arise from being the device broadcasting a network that it has to connect to.
What I'm trying to avoid is allowing my phone to consume data over the wifi network that it will have to connect to on order to cast its screen to the chromecast and my head unit.
I'm open to other creative solutions if you have any ideas. Miracast was an option, but after attempting to use a roku stick for that purpose, i've found that miracast and the Alpha aren't really good friends yet. If anybody knows of a miracast dongle that works well with the alpha, please share!
I previously owned a G3 where I connect my bluetooth headset and mobile TV tuner, and these worked flawlessly with no setting changes. Now I just bought the V10 and connected these devices to it. For some reason my bluetooth headset's remote "next/previous" function does not work (though music streaming and remote volume are fine) while my mobile TV tuner cannot be detected by the phone (through the mobile TV tuner app from its manufacturer).
Now since these are perfectly working on my G3, I wonder why it does not in V10. Any of you guys experienced having these problems with your peripheral devices? Maybe some settings need to be changed or it is a firmware problem that LG needs to update.
By the way, my V10 is the international variant, still in Lollipop. I have reached LG and still waiting for they reply, but I just want to check with you guys if any of you have this problem. TIA.
So ever since my pixel XL updated to 7.1.2 I have been having nothing but problems keeping Bluetooth tethering active. I can't say that tethering via BT ever worked well on my pixel out of the box, but there were a variety of apps like BTAutoTethering did a good job of ensuring BT tethering was switched on whenever a specific device was connected. However, all these apps seem to be broken in 7.1.2.
This is really causing an issue for me because the device I need to tether is a medical device. Without these apps to help me using just stock android Bluetooth tethering just turns off after 10 to 60 minutes.
