Hello
I'm developing a new app that enables the extra settings provided by the knox API.
You can run the app without root privileges.
Right now you can:
-View iptables rules
- Grant and revoke permissions to apps
- disable protected apps
- disable specific components of an app (activity, services, listeners, providers)
Planned features include:
- Edit firewall rules
- real user interface
- list all the changes currently enabled
If an App refuses to be disabled you can achieve the same result by disabling its main activity component
I did my best to provide a visual appealing interface
search for "it.ygopro.extendedsettings" on the google market.

Good work.
App Works on my n910c.
Thanks.
I added the planned features on the main post.
If the app works, please share your specs (android version, launcher, knox status, phone model).
Matteo
EDIT:
Sorry.
I had to disable the app. The developer license doesn't allow so many activations. I have to wait for a developer license

Say I wanted to have the most secure Sony Xperia Z Ultra possible (without "too much" sacrifice of useability).
In the context of this thread I define security as broadly anything barring network anonymity ie. hiding your device public IP address.
So I want security from network attackers (eg. drive-by download, WiFi attacks), physical device attackers (eg. customs searching devices for IP violations ... no really, that's about to become a thing apparently, GF and/or mistresses) .
How would you do it?
Could you please use sections of
Code:
firmware
phone settings
app settings
behavior
because I want to curate the best answers from users in this post for the good of the forum.
My thoughts so far are:
Firmware:
Root is disabled
Bootloader should be locked.
^^ These I'm not sure about - see if we don't have root then we don't have iptable firewall and hosts level server blocking.
One recovery should be used
Honestly I'm not sure which ROM is more secure than another but I'm assuming the latest and greatest is more secure so that would be MM atm. No idea if Sony is more secure than another flavour of ZU Android.
Phone settings:
Developer options off
Sideload apps off
Do not connect to unknown WiFi
NFC Off by default
Bluetooth Off by default
PIN unlock required
Auto-lock ON
App settings: (this includes apps you should have/not have and their settings)
I figure every additional app that I don't use is a needless attack surface so start with no apps at all - uninstall everything. Only install what you use ... for which you need root unless the ROM is premade like this.
Firewall app (Netguard no-root Firewall, DroidWall if we have root)
Adblock (if we have root)
AV - honestly most mobile AV seems pathetic at being secure and not acting like malware (notifications, popup windows etc) but Avast at least seems to not hog resources.
-Auto update every app
User behaviour:
NEVER:
-install apps from anywhere other than Google Play. Or possibly FDroid
-let another person use your device
I'd like to hear your suggestions, critique and everything else, cheers!
So you're not gonna install from other than google play, then what ad blocker are you going to use? Where is adblocker connecting to?
You're talking about still having a lot of apps connecting through servers that you don't control.

Well if you are worried about connecting to servers that you dont control - isnt that all servers?
At which point you may as well remove all WIFI and Mobile Data capabilities and just stick to 2G

Exactly my point.
The op is a long winded question that leaves you with more questions.
Probably why there's been such a landslide of security tips here
hi, I have a huawei gr5, the cellular one becomes overheated very much and there ends the battery very rapidly, before I have the galaxy j7, which was much better in these senses, the battery lasted enough more, I want to find an app similar to the smart manager of samsung, someone can help me, manager exists an app similar to the this of samsung to use it in my huawei gr5?
try this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.james.SmartUninstaller i don't know if this is what you are looking for.
ok ay my mistake i didn't understand what you was asking for... i believe that smart manager is part of Cheetah Mobile all samsung devices with android 6 and up have it. A3 2016 for example have this so check this app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zee.techno.apps.smart.manager.memory.ram.cleaner
Cleans Ram with unwanted files and data.
Keep your data safe and Storage optimization.
The app helps to save energy efficiently like the best battery saver 2016.
The app secures private data and also provide the app locker functionality.
Simple and friendly user interface
thats is similar, but it does not work well, does not optimize the applications

My opinion
The optimize, that apps offer on play store, is "scam" for the system.
What i mean is that they do a clear from apps that are in ram and stop the services for a while
If you have ever use clean master it has a function called hibarnate apps. what this thing do is to disable the apps so they stop running until you use them again
but this process takes a lot bc it opens one by one the apps from the app manager and click the force stop. ofcourse you see only a nice picture and the apps that it kills.
i know how it does that bc i has stuck on my phone and the "nice picture and the apps that it kills" close and reveal the app that was killing in the app manager.
Anyway if you what something like that and you don't want to wait that much , you have to root your device and then apps that offer this funcion will do the job instant. not 1 min + ..
Again thats my opinion
If anyone else who knows more please share with as your knowledge
Does anyone use modded apps, e.g. Instander & Aeroinsta, that try to block ads? I've been using they in my mobile devices (Samsung J7 & Xiaomi Mi Pad) and they work as intended. But they don't seem to work in the A52s. The ads are still there. I wonder if anyone knows if the A52s has a way of bypassing checks for these ads, or if I need to disable anything.
SOLVED: It's a problem with Android 11.
