Hello. I have been testing lots of applications from the PlayStore to record calls on this device without success

In the indian version they have the record call, maybe the only way is changing the rom

I still cannot record calls on my Realme 7. I was able to switch to global region after unlocking the phone, but recording calls is still not working. Does anyone have a working solution?

On my Realme 7 5G - EU Version I was able to unblock call recording, folow this thread

Thank you very much. But I am a bit, well quite, useless when it comes to such things. So, if I may, I have to ask some rather silly questions. Like, where do I download and extract the zip file mentioned in the thread? On my phone or on my laptop? Do I have to connect the phone to the laptop first? Do the two devices have to be connected during the procedure? I probably sound like an absolute idiot, but it is what it is. Nevertheless, thanks again for answering. I really need the call recording option.

Not to my knowledge, it seems that FunTouch (the fork Vivo has developed of Android) is particularly complicated to root for some reasons. The handset comes with options to "unlock boot loader" but I am not sure regarding the steps from there. From my searches is Baidu and on Chinese BBS-boards such as YDSS (can't link because my account is new) there is still no luck regarding rooting or flashing custom roms for Vivo x20/x20plus. :crying:

Bought one ... very annoying but it doesnt allow you to change stock launcher. It always defaults back to the stock launcher.

[UPDATE] So it turns out you can change the stock launcher for the X20 Plus UD; you need to complete a second step which can be found in settings|security|replace the system launcher. However, in my version you have to first sign up with VIVO Cloud which requires a chinese phone number (it sends you a verification sms).
Loving the phone now!!

This is my first Oppo Device and i have just received the Indian variant which i suppose is the global variant for this device.
The device is gorgeous in terms of look and feel and i am yet to explore the software which i suppose is the sad part of this device.
None the less, any quick tips & tricks will be highly appreciated :fingers-crossed: I will try and compile it all in this thread.
Greeted with an OTA at start, so hope Oppo keeps improving the user experience

These are some of the useful settings and apps that i installed:
1. Nova Launcher Prime Version:
No need to uninstall the stock launcher, just install Nova > Restore your previous backup and done, The Launcher also works with the built in gestures and no need of a separate app to be installed for the gestures.
2. AccuBattery
As ColourOS does not show battery stats and SOT, i will use this app to monitor my usage.
3. Andromeda & Substratum
I use to heavily theme my devices when it comes to devices like OnePlus but as there is no way to root for now, i use Andromeda & Sunstratum for theaming some of the apps. My setup is usually blacked out and it looks awesome on the amoled screen. The theme i can recommend is Swift Black for a blackout experience.
PS: Avoid Android System and System UI Overlays as the theme is not Oppo compatible but you can blackout the apps.

Indeed this comes with playstore and play services pre installed just like usual Android phones, screen attached.

Sadly it also has 5 app auto run limit, so no escape from that for now unless we have root, I don't see a workaround.

Well Flipkart does not deliver outside India but you can create a virtual PPO box address and get the device delivered in the US http://www.ppobox.com
I remember i got my OnePlus One this way in early 2014 when the device was not launched in India.

You can't possible brick your phone while flashing.It's a myth.And only Nexus devices are known to do so.Chinese devices are tangible and won't do anything to oppose PC's authority.So,Follow the tutorial.I have been flashing firmwares modifying ROMs building kernels for 5 years and only a Nexus 5 was Permanently "Bricked" which was later solved.

It is possible to brick your Z5 if you don't know how to recover IMEI, persist etc. It happened to me and many others on here. I was able to recover my phone thanks to the help of others and the various threads.
The Z5 is much easier to brick than many others I have played with e.g. Oneplus etc. I think the main problem is there is no proper recover software. Qfil doesn't seem to flash everything, it certainly doesn't flash the persist partition.

Never Used a Chinese Device so I don't have a lot of experience with them.But all of my Other devices went well with flashing.I was flashing at least 8-9 Times per day while testing my nethunteros ROM.

Please please Podge , help me please you have experience with this phone so please give me steps to install the stock rom , my phone is new , when i turn it on it show me a message( the bootloader is unlocked and software integrety cannot be guaranteed....)

In this donwload there is the stock rom and guide for flashing it, the translator have called it rooting but it is flashing, if that is the guide which is unclear please ask for clarification, and ill get you on stock rom.

dont do... within a couple of days you will be promped with an ota update in notifications just press install on that. the ota updates is working but the app for checking them manually does not.

i have flashed the ZUI 3.9.200ST and the i have updated it manually to the ZUI 4.0.390ST (downoaded from the Russian site) every thing is working now
Led notification work. there is a problem , for exemple when i receive a message from Messenger , the phone sometimes notify me and sometimes din't

Do you still have the FM radio in your apps? Is there a chance for me to get it back? I really miss it!

Wow, that's really exciting! Why does it work in Russia but not in the EU?
I always thought, EU and Russian Model are the same hardware.
I tried to set region to Russia and reinstall the update A.06 -> still no radio app

Most FM Radio apps need phone to bee rooted and without b/l unlocking they want work.

Radio seems to work in other countries, so I will try to change the region (and SIM cards) before installing the next updates.
My mail to eu-support is still unanswered.
I am changed a couple of a regions with phone rebootting and nothing changed... On my pitty, i have only one SIM which i can't change.

We would like to inform you that in the last update we have removed the radio fm while fixing some bugs however we have escalated this concern to our Headquaters who are alreading working upon it. We assure you that we will get back to you with the best possible solution in the upcoming updates. Meanwhile we suggest you to download a third part apk from Google Play Store
I have no idea what that means...

they don't wanna unlock BL and then they can't provide links to download theire fm radion apps. just say go to play store and find a way
there is a lack and there is differences between rm and mi
mi try to give theie custome a bench of apps and solution so they keep away from others roms but rm pushing us forward to get custom roms
Off topic. Just got this phone. So you can't use fm radio unless you use headphones?

I have CPH1919 and this does not support my device.
Prerequisite is that you are on c.29 COS7

I already linked for the download, so users can try for themselves.
I also posted cautionary advice as it is potentially problematic, as detailed in the website.
Maybe it does work for you and that's great. Maybe it is country dependent. I don't know.
It does not work for me. I'm in the UK and using c.30 version grabbed from Oppo India - maybe that has something to do with it? I don't know.
So there is a hope for this device.. ! Cant wait to flash custom rom and unleashed limitless

It will need someone to make a compatible TWRP. I believe there is one for the Chinese model, but the global device has a very different partition structure.
It will then need Magisk to root the device.
Once those things are in place, it will then need a developer to look at the internal make-up of the firmware.
I'm not sure if anyone has come forward as seeing this as a viable device. Only time will tell and that's IF this device can be unlocked.

Doubt it. It may require relocking, manual flashing, unlocking again until a Dev comes along to automate the process.
As for TWRP...not been made for the device as nobody seems willing to take it on. That may change now though.
CPH1919 (global - or Indian as it should really now be known!) owners will need to stay alert that PCCM00 (Chinese) has TWRP but it will not work with CPH1919. The firmware for PCCM00 is very different, so a lot of care needs to be taken when attempting to download and flash files.
I am hopeful something good will come of this.
All that needs doing is someone decrypting the CPH1919 firmware and analysing the contents to be able to make recoveries, custom ROMs, etc. Not even sure if Oppo have released their repos on GitHub. Really unsure how Oppo operate in general to be honest. All a bit too secretive for my liking
