Is it possible to have custom recovery without magisk? I flashed stock kernel, my phone is bootlooping, if i flash magisk, phone is starting. Any idea to work without magisk?

I have the stock ROM MM, rooted, with TWRP recovery.
Is there an app that can flash the stock recovery and then flash back TWRP recovery? I'd like to be able to install OTA updates without a PC.

The problem would be after the OTA is installed you will not have root and all the apps that can flash recovery require root
at some point you need fastboot
You can keep the TWRP in eRecovery and Stock Recovery in main recovery partition, so you'll have dual recoveries.
Just as the title said. I want to switch from supersu to magisk. Do i need to full unroot my device without flashing the stock boot.img?
AFAIK, magisk doesnt change the boot.img so i guess you have to full unroot via SuperSu then boot to twrp and flash Magisk
that is how i do it :good:
Wellp, i have been trying to install TWRP, magisk and maybe a custom kernel but i just get it bricked.
I followed the instructions (Typhus guide) to install twrp but when i try to boot into system it will keep rebooting into TWRP no matter what i do, in fact tried installing a custom rom and it will still rebooting in twrp until eventually it will go into fastboot and thats it, i reinstalled the system via fastboot and now evertythings fine, this device is a little confusing but i will appreciate your help in advance.
I have used one plus and mi till now and rooting or flash twrp is smooth there.
using ODIn and magisk patch flashing is uncharted territory for me. There are threads which are confusing for me. I just want root my device. Flashing patched firmware through magisk seems difficult to me with a fear of getting bricked.
And the TWRP thread of flashing twrp is not explicit if after flash twrp i can just flash magisk.zip. Any one out here who can explain it to me like 5.
I just want a root. I have bootloader unlocked on my SM-T865, 4G INDIA model
TWRP method is the easiest imo. You just use Odin to Flash TWRP, then use TWRP to flash the custom Kernel, encryption disabler and Magisk. There's no need to patch anything.

Lets say I have a rooted device with Magisk installed and a custom kernel like ElementalX with stock ROM
What is the process of taking a OTA update without loosing data
Correct me if I am wrong or if there is a faster way
I install the boot I backed up before installing ElementalX
Uninstall Magisk, download OTA, install Magisk to "inactive slot"
Boot up
Install new version of ElementalX
Are there any other steps or things I need to know before I do that?
