[ROOT] T510 Unrooted after installing Smali module in Magisk. Suggestions? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I recently rooted my Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2019) running Android 10 without TWRP using only Magisk, Magisk Manager and Odin. A root checker confirmed I had root access and I had SuperSU. I then tried to install a Smali module in Magisk Manager which installed without issue. I rebooted the tablet just to be sure everything was installed correctly and now my tablet is no longer rooted. So I have 3 questions :
1. How can I reboot to recover without having TWRP? My tablet doesn't have ramdisk so it has to be booted in recovery for Magisk to work correctly.
2. Can I flash TWRP now without it causing problems or deleting data on the tablet? If so can it be done with Odin by flashing the TWRP AP?
3. How can I regain root access? Would flashing the Magisk patched AP with stock BL and CSC work?

Magisk additional setup error

I tried to root my umidigi a1 pro by patching the boot.img . The installation fine and after flashing the boot.img using fastboot i rebooted and opened magisk manager. When i opened magisk manager it said magisk was not installed but after i refreshed it said magisk was installed and that i need to install a additional setup. When i try to download the additional setup it says setup failed. I used a root checker which also says my phone is not rooted. What can i do about this?

Root without custom recovery?

Hello,
i'm trying to root a Sharp B10 (SH-A01) with Magisk.
It would be nice if i could do this without unlocking because i want to keep the stock rom anyway.
First problem is that i can't find a custom recovery (TWRP, CWM) for this device from where i could install Magisk.
Then i found out that Magisk gives the possibility to root a device through the Magisk Manager App by patching the boot.img.
But the second problem is that i can't find the boot.img either. I spotted the boot partition on the device and tried to pull with adb but i would need an already rooted device to give the needed permissions.
Is there anything else I could do to get this thing rooted besides compiling my own TWRP for the device?
thanks a lot,
paul

Neither Magisk nor TWRP is needed to root Android: Chainfire's SuperSu does the job. You flash its ZIP via stock recovery "adb sideload"

Hi,
thanks for your answer.
I already managed to root this device. I got the boot.img with Wwr_MTK & SP flash tool (windows tools...), patched it with the magisk app and than flashed the patched boot.img
1. Unlock your bootloader enter in download mode Vol+ + Vol- + USB conected to pc (Keep in mind that by doing this you will lose your files, it is advisable to make a backup of your photos, music, etc.)
2. Once you start your cell phone install magisk manager, Choosing the boot.img file of your rom into the app (Tip: Only!!! If your model is SM-A015M Android 11 I leave you my own modified boot.img to flash:
File on MEGA
mega.nz
Otherwise, you can download the firmware (3.79 gb) and extract the boot.img from the firmware of your model SM-A015 M / F ... Android 10, Android 11... etc. And No need for pc
https://samfrew.com/model/SM-A015M/
3. The image will begin to flash
4. When it restarts you will have Root on the cell phone!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Extra: If you need the custom recovery I give you the link with my TWRP which is installed through the Odin program on a PC (this step does not delete your files)
File on MEGA
mega.nz
Keep in mind that to install TWRP you must deactivate the DM-VERITY & FORCEENCRYPT DISABLER I leave it in a link:
Zackptg5 - Android
zackptg5.com
This is a module that can be installed via magisk, which is necessary to decrypt the system ... so once TWRP is installed, it is advisable to uninstall it via Magisk to avoid R / W errors

Having encrypted device and root, is it possible with Android Galaxy A8 (SM-A530F)?

So I have rooted my Android Galaxy A8 (SM-A530F) Android version 9. To do this I used TWRP to install RMM_Bypass_v3_corsicanu.zip, no-verity-opt-encrypt.zip-6.0 and Magisk-v19.3.zip. Everything works fine, but I cannot encrypt the device! I have also tried the fast encryption option with no luck.
I tried a couple of suggestions from the following forum post https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-8/how-to/guide-how-to-root-device-encryption-t3742493?nocache=1 namely where it says:
- Flash the stock book.img back in Odin and apply no-verity-opt-encrypt in TWRP. Use 7-Zip to create a tar only containing the stock BOOT.IMG and flash it in Odin using the AP slot.
- Flash back a TWRP backup taken of the boot partition before installing a root ROM, but after flashing no-verity-opt-encrypt.
After following the two options listed above the phone just un-roots!
I have also tried to shuffle the order in which the three zip files(mentioned earlier) are installed via TWRP with no success.
Does anyone know of any other solutions to having both encryption with root? Are there other better ways to root the phone that might enable encryption?
Grateful for any help, thanks.

Question about installing TWRP

I have an already rooted galaxy a105m with magisk installed, however twrp didn't exist for the a10 when I rooted and installed magisk so I still have the stock recovery. How do I go about installing twrp? Preferably I'd like to not have to wipe my phone but If I have to it's ok.
Edit: Welp I'm dumb, all I had to do was dl the twrp img off of the main root guide, download the twrp official app from playstore, and flash.

Hiii I wanted to ask if the twrp official apk worked on your Samsung a10s...As am speaking I have it installed for some time now but it didn't work,it just on loading mode forever.
If you're already rooted you can download the TWRP img I used here (literally copied from the root guide) and flash via the twrp app (or whatever flashing app you want, that's just the one I used). However, if you're not already rooted I definitely suggest you follow the whole guide so you don't make any mistakes/mess anything up here.

flash magisk in custom recovery
Hello FraSharp,
on smartphone (Samsung J600FN stock version Android10),
I install the Magisk.apk, after I download the boot.img (extracted on PC from the stockROM.zip)
launch magisk on this downloaded boot.img, then magisk returm a bootPatch.img
on PC
I pull the bootPatch.img
then flash this bootPatch.img on smartphone
At reboot, error with a corrupt message and going to a factory reset.
So, how do you install your Magisk?
