How do I clean install OOS without losing root? - OnePlus 7T Pro (Regular & McLaren) Q & A

Don't have TWRP and I don't own a PC.
All I'm after is a fresh install of the OS to start from as fresh as possible without the need of a computer and hopefully without bootloops.
What are my options? Will a standard factory reset from settings do the trick?
Thanks.

Ive done factory reset from Recovery. After that ive only needed to install magisk.apk and everything was woeking fine. You lose root only if you flash the rom again.

Stock OnePlus recovery? And it won't put me into a soft or hard bootloop? It'll boot back to OS and let me set everything up again without a PC?

bricked my phone

i just bricked my phone with script manager, done something wrong. What can i do to unbrick?1 question, can i wipe data/factory reset and phone will be fixed?
What did you mean bricked? Can you turn you phone one, whats happened after this, I think you have only a bootloop. If you can access recovery menu try wipe, if it doesn't help reflash you rom using ODIN.

Your phone is not bricked. You have a minor inconvenience. Wipe everything and flash new firmware.

Choose whatever rom you want and install as normal through recovery. Wipe data/cache/factory reset and install .zip file. Done.

Just to make sure, flash it with a full package. (Zip containing 4 files instead of one big one). It'll turn everything to stock including system format just in case you messed that up. Flash it via ODIN and make sure to follow instructions so you won't have another inconvenience.

A lesson always have nandroid backups

[Q] root then flashed STUCK IN BOOTUP: gummy, personal backup, CM12 +then kitkat -

I rooted for the first time over the weekend. Thought I had a problem with international unlock sim (and wasn't too happy about GPS and mobile data widget) - so it was a good excuse to root... I have a Sprint Note 3 with lollipop (5.0 that I got OTA)
Anyway did the root via CWM via these steps: http://galaxynote3root.com/galaxy-note-3-root/how-to-root-galaxy-note-3/ I was able to install titanium backup and backuped app and my personal stock sprint.
There after I flashed 1. gummy rom 2. restored my personal sprint rom backup 3. CM12 and 4. latest Kitkat Killer version.
On all these flashes I got hung on the bootup logo. I reflashed after waiting 10 minutes and the same thing happens (some say it would work on the second flash...but alas!)
From what I gather it's because I am going from 5.0 to 4.4 roms ? Is that true ? If so how can I downgrade to 4.4.4 ROMs ? OR is it easier I find a 5.0 rom I like and flash that. Interestingly though my personal backup restore didn't work either to 5.0
[Currently I don't have a phone and desperate to solve this.]
PS: I didn't wipe data or factory reset between the various flashes - could that be a problem or is THE problem ?
(It all started because I thought I lost international sim unlock that i got via SUU app...it seems I hadn't)
Got to factory reset!
If the same version of rom wiping cache might work.
I factory reset/wipe date via CWM and there after recovered my original data again via CWM.
And now its back to original Sprint bootup - BUT gets stuck at the Sprint logo ?
I try a hard reset via volume up, home button and power - and it just does a bootup - so cannot do a new factory reset ?
have I lost my phone ? should I try ODIN ? what are my options ? (and how did I screw up? )

Boot into recovery wipe every thing.
Flash your rom again.
&/or
Oden stock rom, try again.
Didn't follow instructions ; -)
1. when you say 'flash your rom' you mean my backup of sprint ? so do a restore of the original sprint that I backed up after root ?
2. where can I get a stable stock rom ? I assume I have to use stock 5.0 ? as it's not easy to downgrade to 4.4.4 as I got 5.0 OTA - right ?
PS: what instructions - i followed everything to a tee...
thank you @rbeavers

HTC One M8 - No OS, NO Recovery.

So i was rooted and tried to factory reset (big mistake) and that worked and all but i wanted to make sure all my files were erased. I used to twrp and used the advanced wipe, but i clicked the wrong one and now i have no os. Trying to dig myself out of the hole i flashed a new OS, then for some random reason it didn't flash and no i cant access my recovery. Any help would be appreciated.

Fastboot erase cache, then flash TWRP again via fastboot.

My LG G5 H850 is stuck on twrp when ever i power it on.

I did a factory reset on my phone and it just booted up in to twrp recovery mode and I cant get in out of it. Its stuck on it I even tried installing a custom rom to make sure i didnt delete everything somehow. Nothing is working I rooted my phone yestarday im still new to this stuff. Anyone have any ideas on how I can fix this?

I had this issue, too once. Can't recap what exactly fixed it, but I flashed TWRP again (think that didn't fix it) and then dirty flashed a ROM (in this case the same, which was already on the phone). If I remember correctly it worked after the later only. Might have also had to flash superSU. No data should be deleted if you just dirty flash (but do make a backup, should be no problem, since you are stuck in recovery anyway [emoji12]).
What ROM did you try to flash? You're rooted?

I also dont really care if I lose photos or anything I already got all of them saved on my pc before I even started rooting the damn thing. I do need to ask tho how do you dirty flash and Do i just flash twrp normally since im already in it or ??? As I said im rlly new to this
TWRP can be flashed just from inside TWRP itself. Dirty flash means not do a factory reset before flashing.
Sorry that I can't remember what fixed it, but you can get out of it, 'cause I did, too...
Just wipe cache and dalvik/art cache then install separately TWRP, ROM, GAPPS, SUPERSU again and reboot after each install step to see of you reboot to TWRP again. That's what I did.
I use latest AICP ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=69699770) but that shouldn't matter.
Hope it helps.

Wait you were trying to flash recovery for a pixel device on your g5?
What TWRP build did you flash when you said you downgraded? 3.0.2-1 or 3.0.2-0 ? What is the date on the TWRP build?

What he asked [emoji32]
It's happened to me too! Like three times lol. Just use UpperCut / LG UP to flash the latest nougat rom. That will fix the issue. You will need to re-root after that. There are instructions in this forum that tell how to do all of that. Good luck
Well and don't flash a ROM which is not for your device...
