What Happened to ExaGear/Eltechs?
Sadly, all of the ExaGear/Eltechs websites and apps appear to have been removed with only the announcement that "We're shutting down entirely on February 28th" as an explanation. If you already own any of the ExaGear apps you can still install them from your play stores my app and games library(3 lines upper left/app&games/library). You can no longer search for the apps in the store but It’s still possible to access the store page from a direct link if you own the game. It's uncertain if the ExaGear apps will disappear from the play store entirely so I’d recommend backing them up with the titanium backup app here.

[Guide+Video] How to Play PC Games on Android with DosBox Turbo
Note: If your device is unable to run ExaGear try Dosbox Turbo, it will run similar games.
What is ExaGear?
ExaGear is a complex emulation engine app that allows you to play many classic PC games on your Android device. It features one of the most powerful emulated systems on Android and is relatively easy to setup. Official games have controller sets specially adapted for gaming on your mobile device. In addition, many unofficially supported games are playable with the help of customs controllers and apps. The following guide will explain how to setup and play Games with ExaGear.
What Games can ExaGear Play?
Officially: Arcanum, Civilization 3, Disciples 2, Fallout 1, 2, Heroes of Might and Magic 3, Jagged Alliance 2, Might and Magic VI, VII, VIII, Panzer General 2
Unofficially: ExaGear supports this list here but the games require modification(detailed info below). Games like, Diablo 2 LOD, Red Alert 2 Yuri's Revenge, Stronghold Crusader HD, StarCraft Brood War, ect
Games are Not included! (Some Assembly Required)
Emulated PC Gaming System
CPU: 1Ghz Pentium 3 (Core # Varies)
GPU: 130MB Wine DirectDraw
HDD: Emulated to the size of your devices internal storage.
RAM: Emulated to the size of your devices RAM

How to Play Classic PC Games on Android with Exagear RPG/Strategies
1)A)Install the ExaGear RPG app from an apk here, the play Store app is no longer available here
or
2)B) Install ExaGear Strategies app from and apk here, the play Store app is no longer available here
Open the app from the device for the first time to unpack data and create the default Exagear folders in the internal storage. A basic set of instructions will be shown prompting you to transfer game data to the device. No Games are included with the app. ExaGear is offered as a free trial for 3days after a game is first started. Once the trial expires you can purchase a controller set or use short 10-minute gameplay sessions.
2)A)Select an Officially supported game from the "Officially supported Games and controller types:" list below and view the recommended controls for that game.
Or
2)B)Select an unofficially supported game from the Launched game list here. Playing unofficially supported games will require additional modifications and controller setup covered in the, "How to setup Unofficially supported Games, Mods and Controls:" guide below.
Freshly install the selected game on your PC with the latest patches
-I'd highly recommend GOG DRM free games here
-If you have older CD/DVD game versions they will work fine but may need may need NOCD games fixes here
-After fully installing and patching your games, locate the install folder(s)
-Tip: Right click on the games desktop shortcut and "Open file location"
Possible DVD\CD\GOG Default game data locations:
C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Games\ (Game or Company Name)
C:\Program Files\ (Game or Company Name)
C:\GOG Games\ (Game Name)
C:\Sierra\ (Game Name)
3) Plug your Android device into the PC with the USB cable and locate the "ExaGear" folder you created when running the app for the first time. The ExaGear RPG and ExaGear Strategies apps share the same "ExaGear" folder located in the root directory of your internal storage(Default location). If you wish to use an external SDcard for storage, create an "ExaGear" folder on the SDcard. Place your games folders into the "ExaGear" app folder in either location and your games be will automatically be detected by the app. Please stand by while the game data transfers to your Android device, this may take sometime....Wait for it. Once complete you may disconnect the USB cable. Alternately you could download the game data directly to the device and place it into an ExaGear folder with a file explorer program here or here.
4)Locate and start the Exagear RPG/Strategies app from your android device. Click "Show unsupported executables.." to show .exe files for games not officially supported. You will need to Select the .exe and controller type for the game you wish to launch, select trial or buy the controller set to launch it. You can edit the exe's default run config by selecting the three dots. Here you can change the default Resolution, Color Depth and Controller type. Once you've selected your defaults the game will load, please stand by..
Officially supported Games and controller types:
ExaGear RPG
Current controls are customized and adapted for:
• Arcanum (Argentum controls are recommended)
• Fallout 1, 2, (Ferrum controls are recommended)
Note: If you find the touchscreen mouse controls to be off hit the "Sync" button in the upper right.
Note: You can pinch and zoom the screen.
• Jagged Alliance 2 (Aluminium controls are recommended)
• Might and Magic VI, VII, VIII (Magnesium controls are recommended)
ExaGear Strategies
Current controls are customized and adapted for:
• Disciples 2 (Helium controls are recommended)
• Heroes of Might and Magic 3 (Helium controls are recommended)
• Panzer General 2 (Helium controls are recommended)
• Civilization 3 (Cuprum controls are recommended)
How to setup Unofficially supported Games, Mods and Controls:
Review theExagear RPG/Strategies list of Launched games here or here and choose a game you wish to play. The column titles are in Russian and contain useful information for setting up your games. See the picture below for reference and translation.
Spreadsheet column Translations:
B= Required App, C= App Version, D= The Game, E= Required exe rename or Controls, F= Resolution, G= Color Depth, H= Language Encoding, I= Notes/Comments
Column E if an exe, "Heroes3.exe","discipl2.exe" ect is listed here you will need to rename your games exe file to match.
-Alternately the recommended controller type maybe listed here, "Cuprum", "Ferrum", ect
-Locate the game data folder, make a copy of the exe file and rename it.
-Renaming unsupported exe names can make unsupported games launch with ExaGear RPG/Strategies. They will also show up in the supported game list.
Column F & G you can change the default Resolution and Color Depth from the run config menu. From the apps main menu click the 3dots by the exe name and set default values for your games. Lower Resolution and Color Depth is recommend for better performance.
Column H Language Encoding, the default is usually best but some games may require that you change it if listed.
Column I if you see a comment that says "dsound.dll 2.0.4", then download this dll file here or here and place it into your game folder. Using these older dsound.dll can fix game launching and sound issues. See the Troubleshooting section for more info.
How to Add custom controls
-Many games are playable but not yet officially supported by ExaGear.
-Setting up custom onscreen controls or using Bluetooth/OTG devices can help make games playable on your device.
-I recommend adding custom onscreen controls with the paid GameKeyboard + app here
-Follow the apps setup instructions
-Customize the onscreen controls
-Reduce the transparency to better see the game with the onscreen overlay.
-Enable Non-Blocking mode so that the onscreen controls won't block ExaGears touchscreen input.
-GameKeyboard + Screenshot with Arcanum Setup.
How to Patch and Mod Games for ExaGear RPG/Strategies:
Arcanum
-Launch the game from Exagear RPG
-Suggested settings: 800x600 16bbps
-Suggested Controls: Argentum
-Don't miss these Indexs of Arcanum Mods, Patches, & DLC here and here and here
-DLC(Modules), High res patch, Character Editors, Cheat Mode, HQ maps, HQ sounds
-Install the offical Patch 1.0.7.4 here then the Unofficial Arcanum Patch v091225 here
-Change DLC Modules from the settings menu before starting a new game
Diablo 2(LOD)
-Download and extract this dsound dll file here into the game folder
-Launch the game from Exagear RPG
-You may need to rename the Diablo2.exe to Fallout2.exe
-Suggested settings: 640x480 16bbps
-Suggested Controls: Ferrum or Aluminium controls
How to use Fallout Mods with ExaGear RPG
-I recommend using the GOG versions of fallout 1 and 2 but the CD and DVD versions should work fine. I don't believe the steam versions work.
-Locate your Fallout 1 or 2 game data folder in order to begin patching it. Get your copy of Fallout 1 or 2 setup with the latest patches and win9x compatibility by following the below instructions.
Note:The below setup instructions for Fallout 2 and the Restoration Project will get the game working on Android but may cause it not to run properly on your PC. To reverse this just go back to step 3 in the following setup instructions and overwrite the "Windows 95-98-ME" files with the newer "Windows XP-VISTA-7" files from Killaps Fallout 2 manual patch folder.
Note: Patching your game or installing the restoration project will require you to start a new game of Fallout.
Fallout 1 Fixt Mod
Download the Fallout Fixt patch 0.81alpha (July 5, 2015) FIXES ONLY from the main page here
Note: Launch Fallout Fixt from the FALLOUTW.exe file.
Note: The FULL CUSTOM install version of the patch caused some issues for me, stick with the fixes only patch for ExaGear RPG.
-Goal of Fallout Fixt: "To enhance, fix and improve the Fallout 1 experience. This includes fixing bugs, restoring features, modifying balance, adding features, and many fixes to text/dialog. In addition to that, all other available mods and patches are rolled into Fixt, meaning that Fallout Fixt is the only thing needed for "the est" Fallout 1 experience. As of the most recent version, this mod fixes roughly 150 bugs still present in the unofficial patches, and adds roughly 170 features. In addition, there are hundreds if not thousands of text&dialog fixes."
Fallout 1 NPC Mod(Optional)
-This patch allows you to edit your NPC follows weapons and inventory just like in Fallout 2
-Download and extract the "Data" folder here into your Fallout 1 game directory
Fallout 2
-If you wish to play Fallout 2 I recommend installing Killap’s unofficial Fallout 2 patch.
1) Download and Extract the Unofficial patch here then open the folder.
2) Open the extracted patch folder, copy the "data" folder and paste it into your Fallout 2 install directory. (yes to overwrite the files)
3) Open the "Windows 95-98-ME" folder and copy and paste these files into your Fallout 2 install directory. (yes to overwrite the files)
4) Open the “Batch_work’ folder and copy and paste these files into your Fallout 2 install directory. Run the "master_dat_fix_up.exe" file (A window will popup, wait for it..)
5) Next this is EXTREMELY important, in your Fallout 2 install directory delete a file called "patch000.dat"
6) Download and extract the Hi-Res Patch v3.06 and custom fallout configs here
-Copy and paste the contents of the "F2 Hi-Res 3.06 ExaGear Mouse fix" folder into your Fallout 2
-Copy and paste the fallout2.cfg file into your Fallout 2 folder and replace the file
-The config files increase the maximum volume level and corrects the game path for the sound data files
-The F2 Hi-Res 3.06 patch fixes the mouse input by adding ALT_MOUSE_INPUT=1 in the f2_res.ini
Fallout 2 Restoration Project Install Guide:
- To play Killaps Fallout 2 Restoration Project here do the following.
1) Download and extract my ExaGear modded Restoration patch here open the folder.
2) Open the "main" folder and copy and paste these files into your Fallout 2 install directory. (yes to overwrite the files)
3) Open the "Windows 95-98-ME-ExaGear" folder and copy and paste these files into your Fallout 2 install directory. (yes to overwrite the files)
4) Open the “Batch_work’ folder and copy and paste these files into your Fallout 2 install directory. Run the "master_dat_fix.exe" file (A window will popup, wait for it..)
5) Next this is EXTREMELY important, in your Fallout 2 install directory delete a file called "patch000.dat"
Note: This modded version of Killaps Restoration Project contains the Hi-Res Patch v3.06, ExaGear Mouse fix, custom Fallout2.cfg, and several fixed maps.
Fallout Tactics
-Show the hidden BOS game exe, it launches normally.
-Use the ‘Ferrum’ controls.
-Set the game to run at 800x600 16bbps before running the exe. from the main menu.
Red Alert 2 Yuri's Revenge
-Download and extract the dsound file here into the game folder
-Launch the game from ExaGear Strategies
-Start the Yuri.exe for Yuri's Revenge or the Ra2.exe for Red Alert 2
-Suggested settings: 800x600 16bbps
-Suggested Controls: Cuprum
Stronghold/Crusader HD
-Rename the stronghold.exe to Heroes3.exe
-Launch the game from ExaGear Strategies
-Suggested settings: 800x600 16bbps

-Rename the Starcraft.exe to Heroes3.exe
-Launch the game from ExaGear Strategies
-Suggested settings: 640x480 16bbps
-Suggested Controls: Cuprum
Troubleshooting:
Fallout 1,2,Tactics and Ferrum Controls:
If you find the touchscreen mouse controls to be off hit the "Sync" button in the upper right corner.
Note: You can pinch and zoom the screen.
Error Logs:
A log file called x86-stderr.txt will be created @ the root directory of your internal memory or sd-card. Check this log for info when games fail to launch and share this error log with the developers along with the device name and version of Android used.
Sound Distortion and Crashing issues:
-If you experience sound distortion or frequent crashes while playing games like Fallout 2, then you may want to use the older Exagear Strategies 2.0.4 sound lib implementation. This will be slower to run but more stable overall(Recommended for HP TP). Newer versions of ExaGear use direct sound interfaces between wine and Android, which is more efficient but not currently as stable. Therefore changing the dsound.dll lib to version 2.0.4 can help to avoid crashes and fix sound distortion. You should backup or rename the original file, alternately you could reinstall the app to default the file.
Download the older 2.04 of dsound.dll.so here or here
Extract the zipped dsound.dll.so file then copy and paste it over the one on your device in the following location. Note: The location may vary depending on your device and Android version.
/storage/emulated/0/Android/data/com.eltechs.erpg/files/image/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/wine/dsound.dll.so
Black screen issue in the Den with Fallout 2 Restoration Project 2.3.3:
Move the files "DENBUS1.edg", "DENBUS2.edg" and "denbus1.map" from the "maps" folder to the "Data" folder.
Note: You won't be able to load a saved game from the blacked out Den after removing the files. You will need to re-enter the Den area or load a saved game.
Unsupported Games Crashing at Start:
-Many unsupported games will only run if you rename the games exe file to that of a supported game.
-Review the launched game list here and look at column E to figure out what which name the exe must be changed to.
-For example you must rename the stronghold.exe to Heroes3.exe before launching it with Exagear strategies.
Arcanum and HOMM3 Crashing:
Some games have been causing crashing/stability issues when located on a devices external SDcard. Arcanum and HOMM3 tend to cause this issues while other games like Fallout run fine from the external SDcard. If you're having issues playing or launching games try placing the game data into your devices internal storage.
Saving and Loading Games:
-If you experience issues loading saved games try creating a new game. If you still have problems try switching the location of your data from external SDcard storage to the devices internal storage or vice versa . Android 4.4..x Kitkat introduced a number of read write restrictions for apps files not located in the downloads folder. The app developer is working to sort out such issues but fixes could take time. Contact the developer here if you have purchased the app but can't play a game properly on your device @ [email protected] or from the links on Play store page here.
-Support for image files is still being worked on.

How to install and play games with ExaGear Windows Emulator
1)Install the ExaGear Windows Emulator on your Android device, the app is no longer available from the playstore here
2) Place game installers\files into your device download folder located in your internal memory. SDcards are not supported unless you set them as internal storage from settings\storage. GOG games are recommended and have been tested with the app.
3)Start the app and select the menu tab in the upper left-hand corner.
Select “Install new” and choose the desired game from the list, this selects the proper default settings and controls.
Next you will need to direct the app to the GOG installer or setup.exe for the selected game.
Once the exe is chosen the emulated virtual desktop will start up and the game data will be installed into a manageable container.
Once this process is complete the app will exit.
Or
Select “Other app (not from the list)” to install or launch unofficially supported games. You can directly run game exes from fully installed games with this option.
4) Before launching your fully installed games we will need to create a shortcut to the games exe.
The exe shortcut will appear in the apps desktop menu.
Start up the app again, find the menu tab in the upper left-hand corner then select "Manage Containers".
The Containers menu will create a new entry for each game or windows app you install.
Click on the three dots in the upper right-hand corner and select "Run Explorer"
The virtual desktop will launch and you'll need to direct the file explorer to the games exe file, click the select create link.
Exit the app by clicking the x in the upper right.
5) Launch the app you will see the new shortcut in the main desktop menu, click it to start the game. Instructions for making shortcuts may pop up click "Dont Show Again".

Hello Roland,
First of all thank you for starting this thread. I have already tried to install both ExaGear Strategies and Exagear RPG on the touchpad using two different CM11 data media builds (kernel 3.0 and 3.4) and I keep getting the same error message "The virtual memory is not 3G/1G split".
Do you have any idea if any of the older builds like 10.1 (non DM) could run the ExaGear mobile software? For the moment I don't see a solution to how it could run on our beloved touchpad.
Thanks,
Andrei
Hope to see HP TP support soon

You're welcome, Exagear RPG has great potential and I can't wait to see support for Arcanum and Diablo I asked the developer about this problem in another thread about QEMU and he said that it would be fixed eventually... There was a recent update but unfortunately it didn't address these issues. I haven't had a chance to test any of the non data media roms, if you give it a shot please let me know if it works:highfive:

Nice its finally out in the wild I've been waiting for this to become available, I've been following along in the forums since this was just being talked about. I'm going to give it some testing and possibly make a video, are you the developer by any chance? I was wondering if this will also run Kilaps fallout 2 restoration project, I love that mod:fingers-crossed:
Testing Fallout 1 and 2 Vanilla: Performance and load times are very good on my Note 2. Videos are choppy and the controls are a little difficult with a bit of a learning curve. Asking $7.99 for just the Ferrum controls to play just two games seems rather steep and could be a deal breaker when the app is past the Nov, 9th demo period. For kicks I tried to install the app on my HP Touchpad but unfortunately I got an error message, "The virtual memory is not 3G/1G split", so HP TP users may have issues with this app and data media builds.

Roland, thanks for your feedback!
Yes, I'm a developer. We are planning to enhance Fallout mods support. About bug, there may be two reasons:
1. Kernel on device compiled with 2g user space. Usually it' rare case, but we plan to support such kind of kernels in future.
2. You install/copy Exagear RPG data files (image) on sd-card without exec permission. We'll fix that in future releases too.

If this works, you are going to become my personal hero, mate.
f2 restoration project is an ultimate experience, it's for me, gamer since 1984(Or-well, hheh) something unbelieveable - to have such game in my hands.
I am mobile emulation fanatic since 2001.
I remember vividly launching f1 on wm03 machine, 312 mhz xscale cpu without gfx chip, OC'ed to 624mhz, at 3 am...man, it took 45 seconds for ONE hex movement... Atari xl, ST, Amy worked fine, pc is ..***** to emulate even today.
(sorry i am drunk now...nostalgia weekend time, that is).
I better shut up now..g'night to all emumaniacs...
p.s. lemmings with dosbox and machine with usbhost+mouse is...great.
I cannot understand why NONE of good classics are remade for android. Honestly.

Hey man thanks. you're going to love this app:highfive: I'm an old school gamer myself and have been playing versions of the RP since its early days. Its really matured nicely and adds huge replay value to an already Epic Adventure.
I've got to mention that the RP makes the F2 load much more slowly than the regular version. The faster your device the better. I would also highly recommend trying Fallout 1 with the fixit patch. It has all the patches included plus the Fallout 1 restoration project.
I should have a video out next weekend for ExaGear its a great app... Please stand by....
Have a great weekend testing out Fallout on Android, Cheers

-Goal of Fallout Fixt: "To enhance, fix and improve the Fallout 1 experience. This includes fixing bugs, restoring features, modifying balance, adding features, and many fixes to text/dialog. In addition to that, all other available mods and patches are rolled into Fixt, meaning that Fallout Fixt is the only thing needed for "the best" Fallout 1 experience. As of the most recent version, this mod fixes roughly 150 bugs still present in the unofficial patches, and adds roughly 170 features. In addition, there are hundreds if not thousands of text&dialog fixes."
F1 has its own restoration project too??
DAMN! Actually i am running dos version of f1 with magic dosbox, so i am not sure, if files are adequate for this version, hm.
Need to check exagear, idd. Only issue with exagear - it is tricky to run without gapps(i have eradicated EVERYTHING in my roms).
Btw - did you hear about THIS new dosbox?
http://magicbox.imejl.sk/
It is FABULOUS version because of interesting, erm, gui maker - you can build your own gui per game, add buttons, keys, etc.
Speed is also decent. Win95 runs..like windows should.
Shame, that free version can have one profile only(and it is only downside of free ver.).
Ahh, btw - exagear could be nice with registry editor - my dream is to launch any close combat - i assume it could be possible, but game needs registry that i am unable to add to exagear's insides..
p.s. lol, i have that binoculars from OP picture - 12x40, russian - i bought it c.a. 1986, great image quality, it's heavy as hell, though, hheh.
upd: hmm, f1 with exagear has 0.5 fps ingame...sigh...so MUCH slower, than dos version in dosbox..

I've heard of magic box but haven't had a chance to test it, been busy testing ExaGear and making the thread. I'll have to give it a go when I get a chance custom button configs for each game sounds great!
ExaGear RPG just got a big update that fixed several things an added official support for arcanum. I test out Fallout 1 again with the recent changes, let me know if its faster than before.
You can remove unwanted apps from gapps packages and flash them, i've done it before. I also don't want all the apps but got have the play store for installing apps You could even just install the play store apk and not bother with gapps.

Civilization 3 on exagear strategies
Hello there,
I've been trying to get civilization 3 going on exagear strategies. I can get a version of it going, but the save games will always end up being corrupted after around 10-20 min of play and you can't load them. This essentially makes it unplayable as you cannot load your saved games.
Has anyone tried out civ3 and been successful?

Roland, thanks for throwing this thread up here. Was waiting to see if anyone had gotten Diablo II to run on this thing yet. Looks like someone did, unforuntely even after renaming it to Fallout2.exe i still get an error that there is no disk inserted. Let us know if you get it working roland!
Edit: So far i've tried 2 different downloads of Diablo 2. I can't get either of them to run with exagear. Just pops an error that the CD isn't inserted. Odd, since one of the copies i downloaded straight from Blizzard, and doesn't require a CD. Lol
Edit 2: so after hours of searching i finally sound the dsound.dll file from Exagear 2.0.4
Throw it into the Diablo II folder and bam im playing DIablo II at full speed on my Shield tablet
HOORAY!!
