How did you softbricked ur device?
Please take a look on my guides and find the guide "clean install official stock miui rom & relock bootloader". Follow exactly the steps there. You will find everything you need in my collection.

I decided to try the OOS McLaren edition (which I thought would be GSI) and flashed 'em on my Poco. Needless to say, it was a violet (rn7) specific rom which popped errors in my TWRP while flashing it and of course it didn't proceed
The thing is though, that after that I couldn't flash any rom ...
The only thing that works is flashing the original stock rom either in MIUI 9 or 10 of Android 8.1 Oreo (I have flashed MIUI 11 and 12 through fastboot and though showing successful I still get fastboot upon reboot) Even getting ota updates from stock 8.1 rom (the 11.0.5 which is Android 9) leads to the update screen, all good, but once it reboots I'm greeted with the fastboot logo again.

I have the same problem as well. Only boots from Oreo 8.1
Would love it if you expand this guide. For now it doesn't work even after using MiFlash to Miui 12 (Official).

Yes. The full name of the recovery rom is "beryllium_global_images_V12.0.2.0.QEJMIXM_20200925.0000.00_10.0_global". Extracted from the .tgz file.
I use Miflash to flash the "fastboot" which is the 2.6gb file. The recovery file is also the same filename except its 2gb and I use the MiAssistant program to flash it.
Please explain to me if I did something wrong or it's not the way, at this point I just dont want my Poco to run Android 8.1 forever

This is exactly what I did. I flashed Miui12 and it boots to Fastboot. So it doesn't work.
If I flash Miui9 it boots up to Miui9.
Yes I have an unlocked bootloader. Yes I even tried TWRP recovery and flash Miui 12 and it STILL doesnt work.

At first my F1 was running Miui 12. I tried installing the Cyberpunk rom (One Plus) through twrp recovery cause I saw a Youtube video saying its for "all phones". It returned the Updating Error 7, pretty much the same story as the original poster here.
The only working rom for me right now is Miui 9/10 running Oreo 8.1. If I try flashing Miui 12 through the fastboot it will always show the rabbit fastboot logo. Even Miui 11 or any other rom.

Fastboot Mode Flashing Methode
Flashing process with fastboot mode is more easy instead using flash_image methode.
You just need fastboot and adb binary, you cen get here: View attachment 605489
But, this methode just available if you have the working system..
this is the step for flashing recovery, boot, system, etc. with fastboot:
go to command prompt and type:
Code:
[B]adb reboot bootloader[/B]
and your device will reboot to fastboot mode.
After that you can start to flashing what partition do you wan't to flash, example:
Flashing boot:
Code:
[B]fastboot flash boot boot.img[/B]
Flashing recovery:
Code:
[B]fastboot flash recovery recovery.img[/B]
Flashing system:
Code:
[B]fastboot flash system system.img[/B]
Make sure you type the right partition name and right *.img name..
Or you can use the flash_image methode in your device, you can get here:View attachment flash_image.zip
For the people that have problem with custom recovery, you can flash the original recovey with fastboot mode.
here the original recovery file:
View attachment FM6-recovery.7z
Happy Flashing...

Nope. Could not manage to flash it. I too think it is failing because we are not on stock recovery. First time i tried to flash it, it restarted to recovery and got stuck there. After that i tried running the flashing tool when the recovery was on, and after 70% or so, it gave me this error.
Is it possible to get a update.zip for the same? Thanks!

hey man. I am willing to test this ROM, but you are telling us to flash android 5.1.1 to our phone? I mean, the title is saying that It is Android 6.0.1?
I am willing to test this rom too. But we have bootloader for android 6 and we cannot flash back to bootloader 5.1.1. How can we flash this Rom exactly? Which bootloader exatly do you mean??

You need to flash the stock Android 5.1.1 Rom with Odin because you cant flash the cm 13 Rom over an Android M bootloader (kernel not seandroid enforcing)

Doesn't exactly make sense that it says Kernel not seandroid enforcing, when its a bootloader problem, and the fact that he is calling it a 6.0.1 ROM, when he asks us to DOWNgrade. I mean, what about all the 6.0.1 functions? Will we loose them? Like doze etc..
Woah, nice one, out of nowhere.
How did you get the camera partially working? Hopefully your hard work can help our progress with this device.

These steps make no sense. Why would you flash paranoid and later wipe the system to flash gapps.. ? When you wipe system the paranoid will be gone too.
Btw the install is taking ages..stuck at "patching system image unconditionally" for like an half hour..

Reason why you get the error is because you need the delete the .md5 extension from the name just to be .tar. Anyway dont risk it and flash the bootloader i post now.
1. Are you sure you have a 925F not 925I or something.
2.Try this bootloader: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347786560
I wonder if you can install the rom because for my its busy installing for 30+ min.

I am 100% positive I have a 925F. Used tons of ROMs, flashed kernels and generally changing stuff on my phone. After flashing the bootloader, should I boot into the recovery and install the ROM?
Not working
I have tried flashing this rom for like 5 times. Every time it get stuck on this:
"patching system image unconditionally"
What I did was:
- Install Lollipop
- Root
- TWRP Recovery
- Flash Rom
I will request you to please provide more detailed steps.
Well, I think that the developer should add support for the 6.0.1 bootloader...
---------- Post added at 07:28 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:25 PM ----------
Also didnt work either. In the corner of the download side its written SW REV. CHECK FAIL. DEVICE: 3, BINARY: 2
Yes guys you can just flash bootloader 5.1.1 only. This allows aosp flash, it won't downgrade to 5.1.1, the flash will UPGRADE to 6.0.1 later.
For those who have some problem while flashing try perform a full wipe (system/cache/dalvik) and if still persist try change/update your recovery.
Right, I forgot: fingerprint not working because really no sources for that.
SIM 1 works stand alone but SIM 2 doesn't. SIM 2 is not detected at all. Also, If both are inserted simultaneously, none of the SIM Cards is detected.
I tried rolling back to MIUI 7, MIUI 8, CM 13.0 Official, RR Official, AICP Official and CM 14.0 by @TheStrix. However, in testing in MIUI 8 both SIMs are detected but network doesn't come. Could it be a hardware problem or software?
It's a Software issue...

I flashed CM14 and tried rolling back to MIUI 8. This issue occurred then. I tried the fastboot ROM as well as the Recovery flashable, nothing seems to be working on the device.
Any suggested solution?

Can you mention the name of files to be flashed?
And, also the procedure to flash.
Should it be like fastboot flash firmware adspo.bin or something? Please state the fastboot commands and file names to flash.

Any alternate solution? :/
You flashed through EDL? try that
Hello ppl,
I have unlocked the bootloader of my RN3 snapdragon version officially and i flashed the offical twrp on my phone.
Then i did a complete backup of the rom and then installed CM 14.1 (Santosh's build)
When i installed the rom,it relocked the bootloader and the fastboot mode now shows cyanogen logo instead of the mi logo.
The TWRP is working fine and i tried out both CM13 as well as 14.1.
i was on the miui 8(5.1) build and i tried to restore the EFS file to enable VOLTE on CM14.1 but no VOLTE is working as it was V5.1
I now have to revert back to MIUI8(6.0).How do i proceed?.
*I will flash the global MIUI8 developer rom using the TWRP?
*Restore the backup that i had done earlier with with official TWRP?
*Boot into eld mode(Cyanogen fastboot mode) and then use MiFlash and flash global developer MIUI version.
Please Help me with this.Need to get the VOLTE working fast and get back to MIUI.
First of all let me tell you that volte is broken and fluctuating in miui8 MM builds. Even though there are fixes but then you have to compromise fp scanner. So in my opinion flash xiaomi.eu rom 6.8.11 based on 5.1.1. But as per experience I have seen volte working in santhosh build. Just dont flash any firmware. And to revert back to miui8 LP just wipe partitions and remeber dat official MM roms are encrypted. Dont go there. Happy flash.

Didnt you unlock bootloader? If not then unlock it using mi flash tool, and check out roms from xiaomi.eu site not from miui.com, official site produce ****ty roms. They mess up data partition with encryption. Check out 6.8.11 based on 5.1 where VoLte works fine.

I have locked bootloader. Is it fine if i just flash the zip file using twrp
MiUnlock is not detecting the phone to unlock the bootloader.
Sorry for too many questions.Litte bit new to RN3 .It was easy to flash and do stuff with my old OnePlus One.
::And ill download the stable or weekly
I think you might lose IMEI/EFS if you downgrade from CM 14.1 to lolipop MIUI? Someone more knowledgeable can confirm.

download weekly, miunlock is not detecting? Hmm then may be it is due to windows drivers. If you are using x64 bit OS then you should tweak driver signature enforcement in windows. which twrp u are using? Use a twrp where you can backup efs, modem and other important partitions. alka, zcx are best twrps.

if you use edl then it doesnt matter whether its unlocked or locked. But edl mode needs to wipe everything all data in int storage.
Whats the update? Did it went well? I mean through edl mode using MiFlash.
Hey,
I also have a question. If I officially unlock my bootloader and some how it gets locked again then can I unlock it again officially?
I flash MIUI 8 mm from cm 14.1 , via two booted but mi account verification error . Not go beyond that . What to do ?
So I have this problem going on for few days and seems like a software issue because service center guys were saying the same.
I have unlocked the bootloader officially installed Twrp and want to reset the rom.
I am using Snapdragon version redmi note 3 32 gb

How to do that without getting any fastboot option or any screen.
The device is not recognized by my pc
You must put your device in EDL mode check this guide for doing it without fastboot xiaomitips.com/guide/how-to-put-redmi-note-3-into-edl-mode/
Thank you guys, I have successfully flashed fastboot ROM
Now is there any special requirement to flash other roms like China developer from global stable or custom roms from global stable.
Which Rom do you suggest for normal usage/no gaming/browsing
You can install China rom but you might need to flash twrp again after full wipe, at least that's what happens to me every time I want to flash China dev rom.
I would suggest Nitrogen Os for everyday use (for first install you might need to format data in twrp to flash nitrogen) , Viper Os has slightly better camera quality than nitrogen and a little less battery backup but an amazing rom overall. Lineage Os is very stable with good features but you need to flash firmware first, there is a guide in rom thread for that. Resurrection Remix is the most customizable of all but use with agni or infected kernel for better battery backup.
For me top roms are
-> Nitrogen Os
-> Lineage Os
-> Viper Os
->Aosp Extended
->Pure Nexus with infected kernel
->Cosmic Os
