I have d802 running slimkat 4.4.
I want to buy a new device and to use some custom rom,
I know that the S7 is not good for that due too its looked boot loader.
So what is the alternative (except for Nexus devices ). I like LG because they make the screen to use a lot of the actual phone size, the camera and CPU & RAM.....
Any suggestions?
For me the best is Xiaomi Redmi Note 7.
Hi,
I want to buy a phone and I am little confused with the two phones. One Plus 3 and Moto Z Play
One Plus 3 - OS updates? Aren't great with updates?
One Plus 3 - Battery life? Not that great?
One Plus 3 - Warranty Issues in India?
One Plus 3 - All the rest good config. etc for the price.
Moto Z Play - OS updates? Stock OS so I should get it quickly.
Moto Z play - Good Battery life
Moto Z Play - No issues with Warranty etc.
Moto Z Play - SD 625 processor with 3GB RAM.
Question is what should I buy? if I get faster updates on One Plus 3 I will just go for it?
Can anyone help me with this little confused on what to buy?
Thanks!

I think you go for one plus 3. It have great features.
If you concerned about the one plus 3 above point then go for Moto z play.
Os updates -
If you stick to stock os updates and faster os updates then go for Moto z play.
If you want custom roms support then one plus devices have good support than Moto.
Battery Life -
There is no much difference in battery life in these two devices. One plus 3 support quick charge that can charge your android faster than Moto.
Warranty-
I don't know. It may have warranty issues in one plus one devices.
Motorola not having any issue in warranty.
If you want good configuration then one plus 3 is great choice.

Lol are you kidding! Moto z play has the best battery around by a margin period. If OnePlus 3 is around 4 to 5 hours sot then
10 to 12 hours is z play.
It's basically your usage and priority. If battery usage is your priority and you are a mediocre user with no super heavy games then z play is better.
Else OnePlus 3 hands down if you are a heavy user and best specs to value ratio.
Update is tricky. Moto will surely ensure you get Android n and o. Decent updates. OnePlus has a bad reputation with updates. Look at 1+2 or 1+x. But it's improving with 1+3. But only future will tell you how it goes. 1+3 has already got the Nougat update while z play should this month.
Anyways both phones are very good you won't go wrong with either.
There's a thread for device suggestions:

I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 mini LTE. I purchased it online from outside the US. Based on the installed software and advertising, I think it was intended for the Italian market. Not a problem. The price was right, and I wanted to run CM anyway, as I had with previous phones.
Right now I have CM 13 (Android Marshmallow 6.0.1) installed. It works just fine. I’m not a power user (I haven’t even bothered to enable root access) and I don’t need to be cutting edge. However, I am wondering about upgrading the OS to Android 9.0. I've heard that 9.0 may offer improved battery life, better security, and more efficient apps … or maybe not?
So, here are the options I’m considering. Flash AOSP 9.0, Lineage OS 16, AOKP 9.0 ... or do nothing.
Recommendations anyone?

Once u upgrade to 9.0 you won't be able to do much, in my ópinion believe it or not it running marshmallow is better cause xposed is avaliable the majority of xposed modules would be compatible such as amplify which is where the majority of battery savings will come from add that with icebox and greenify that's the battery saving right there, proper function of viber as viber is having difficulty with newer operating systems...

Yeah yeah. I know that we've seen the news about Poco and other 845 SoC based phone from Mi Series. Since the rollout of Android 11 on Pixel devices few days ago, there are many new features on Android 11 that I would like to add on Poco but since that Xiaomi promised us to get two major os updates (which are Android P and Android Q) it will most likely will stop on Android Q. But I have high hopes for Poco getting Android 11, MIUI based or not.
What are your thoughts about this?
Xiaomi has already cleared that poco f1 isn't getting android 11. It's not on their roadmap. We'll get miui 12 and maybe even 13 looking at the past experience. MIUI version are major upgrades for Xiaomi phones. Android versions like 9.0, 10.0 are practically just numbers to show off and that hardly adds any features on xiaomi phones.
I created petition on change.org for android 11.

You're on xda forums not miui. The one thing you should be worried about is device sources and community developer support not miui.

Yes I'm fully aware of that. But even though if I posted this on MIUI Forums, I still get the same answers from both Forums.
I highly doubt that someone can use blobs from MIUI 12 Android 10 to start from scratch to build a port to Android 11.
I forgot what device that was, I've experienced this coming back from 2018 when they used blobs from Android M to port and build Android N and that was stable enough they officially launched an official build.
Maybe my intuition was wrong or not, maybe someone from the Poco dev or even from the Poco community might wanna build and port Android 11 and might be one of the biggest breakthroughs of all time. Of course if it is stable enough to be a daily driver. I know that it is hard because of lack of blobs coming from Xiaomi's MIUI but maybe, someone will do it.

Yeah, Android 9 and 10 is kinda bummer because of lack of feature other than setting apps permissions which is great for me.
Android 11 has tons of new features like their improved privacy app features, the new smart device control quick settings which I really need because I have smart devices at home, improved notification and more.
I know these things can be treated on 3rd party apps but who wants to add more apps on their phone and maybe eat the battery on the background.

This is highly unlikely. Check piunikaweb they already mentioned there that a moderator from MIUI forums clarified that we'll get miui12, but unlikely to get Android 11. If you really want 11. Then wait for custom ROMS, but it may not be full MIUI Android 11 ports, rather from Pixel ports (one has already been released)

Yeah. Hopefully. Even if it is a port, or a custom ROM, I would still install that on my device.

You misunderstand me. Even if they give android 11, the actual features don't arrive with the update. You will have to wait couple of years more to see native features of android 11 to implement into their MIUI ecosystem.
For example, custom DNS was introduced with Android 7.0 or 8.0 but it really came to xiaomi devices with MIUI 11 in 2020 year only.
On Xiaomi devices going from android 10 or 11 is as unsubstantial like changing security patch from august to september. Most of the people won't notice anything different.
We will 100% get Android 11 as a custom rom. As a matter of fact, it already is a thing. (Search xda) We won't get it officially as all non-pixel devices get only 2 android upgrades.
As far as XDA is there with active dev's updates offically from miui isn't a big deal for me ! Although our dev's are far more better than offical miui cause custom Rom are becoming far more Stabler than stock and in features . :fingers-crossed:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/poco-f1/development/rom-reloadedos-t4162237 11 is out for poco f1. Like i said, who needs xiaomis miui updates when you have xda. Long live the aftermarket software scene.
