As I remember, in MIUI 8, in my Xiaomi Mi5, there was option to have VoLTE and VoWiFi, but in later MIUI9 the VoWiFi was removed.
My new provider supports VoLTE and VoWiFi so the question is; Does Poco F1 support VoWiFi ?
someone please check in wifi settings to see if wifi calling settings are present.

Thank you!!!
This is the same that I get in my Mi5, the voWIFI is also disabled in my phone. It's a MIUI thing! I had the expectation that this new phone would be able to have this feature.
Disappointed by Xiaomi
it can be enabled on Mix 2s so there must be a way to also enable it in F1

I dont have a Mix 2s so I dont have any more details about that.
But in anyway it has to be enabled from the carrier and then you have to configure the APN.
And Mi5 on MIUI 8.xxx had this option but not in MIUI9 any more (current 9.6.2.0 OAAMIFD, global stable)

Even I had the same , greyed out vowifi.
Edited my build.prop, added these lines
persist.dbg.ims_volte_enable=1
persist.dbg.volte_avail_ovr=1
persist.dbg.vt_avail_ovr=1
persist.dbg.wfc_avail_ovr=1
persist.radio.rat_on=combine
persist.radio.data_ltd_sys_ind=1
persist.radio.data_con_rprt=1
persist.radio.calls.on.ims=1
Now option of vowifi is on but can't find any settings to use it.
Also none of the Indian carriers use vowifi yet.
Edit : found settings for vowifi with Vodafone. Haven't tried yet as no access to WiFi now

I will when I get the Poco on hand. I don't have it yet.
Does this method requires unlock/root?

So I tried this, and it is obviously not for my phone. I have a Mix 2s, I do not claim to be a developer at all, but if you could possibly throw some information my way, I would love to try and get this enabled on my Mi Mix 2s and test.
Question however, are you on MIUI when you edit this? I was on custom AOSP ROM, not MIUI when I put these in. Wondering if that may be why, but again, not smart enough to figure out on my own, but smart enough to follow some directions.
VoWifi is working fine on Poco, at least with German Telekom, O2 and Vodaphone. Root is required. In the Screenshot you can see the VoWifi icon active. And the settings are there too. VoLTE is good also.
Edit: Does not work on MIUI Global for the mix 2s. I looked at the build.prop file for my device and it shows that VoLTE and WiFi are not supported in the OS, so editing the build.prop wouldn't work anyways to enable the radio. Was hoping to honestly just get the radios able to be toggled so I could try them out.

This edit in build.prop is working on Poco, looks like your are running MIUI, not custom ROM correct?
I have only tried this on AOSP, in hopes whatever was needed was pulled in from device tree. I will try to add this running MIUI build.prop and cross my fingers.

Yeah, the dialer code works on miui, but only for VoLTE. My goal is to get it to enable to enable WiFi calling, even just the radio. I tried the build.prop edit line by line while on miui, just ends up soft-bricking the device. Tried the *#*#vowifi#*#* method too. I think it works on the china models just fine, but not the global (mix 2s, not Poco). I checked everywhere in miui for settings even remotely related, and they were nowhere to be found. Pretty sure they straight up just designed the global version to not have this feature at all. Luckily mounting system, pushing the correct file and setting permission makes it a quick recovery. Unfortunately none of the radios enabled at all.
@sanjay0501
So yeah, it was my fault completely soft-bricking my device like 10 times because I forgot to fix permissions on the build.prop file after the edit (facepalm). The irony is, I remembered to fix every-time I pushed the working build.prop file after the restore.
@der_Kief
I'm going to try to get my radio fixed modifying the instructions for a US based carrier, now that the fog over my brain has cleared up a bit.
Making progress... I am at work without the original cable and cannot get my device to be recognized as a com port with the cable I am using. Hoping when I get home I can fix this ASAP, as I desperately need some WiFi calling.

With Global Stable 10.2.2.0 or with the latest Global Dev Roms there is VoLTE and VoWiFi support at least with Greece's Cosmote carrier. Using:
dial *#*#86583#*#* (for volte - should state "disabled" in the message)
dial *#*#869434#*#* (for vowifi- should state "disabled" in the message)
dial *#*#4636#*#* for information
Also in the APN settings you should also add the string ",ims" so that the string "default,supl" to become "default,supl,ims". Like:
Hello,
I have a V30+ sold as a US998 running on T-Mobile US. Is it possible to get VoLTE working on the custom ROMs for this phone? VoLTE works with the stock ROM but I don't want stock. On my other phones, AOSP and other non-stock ROMs are able to do VoLTE with no problems.
Is part of the problem that all the custom ROMs are based on the H930? Do I need for someone to build a US998 based custom ROM for it to work?
This is the only thing preventing me from using this phone as my daily driver. I love the hardware and form-factor but need clear voice calls.
Thanks in advance,
Carl

Thanks for your reply. I looked at that thread but my phone does not seem to have the /dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/OP parttion that's needed to follow the instructions in that thread. Maybe different versions of the phone are flashed with different partitions and the US998 doesn't have that?

Stock ROM has VoLTE, yes, but the /OP partition on for example the H930, decides which features are allowed on which carrier... aka it disables/enables some settings depending on the sim card inserted.
For VoLTE: LG modiefied the modem in a way that the IMS services cant talk to it. They may start, you may have the settings to enable it, but they wont work.
Other manufacturers (Xiaomi, Oneplus...) use standard Qualcomm implementation for this, which is to a big part open source, thats why it works there.

Thanks for the response.
So there must be a different partition or method on the US998 that enables VoLTE? Can we use that method in the same way that H930 owners can use the /OP method?
Or would it be possible to use some LG recovery tool to completely reflash and repartition my US998 so that essentially it becomes an H930 thereby allowing me to use the /OP method and enable VoLTE?
It's kind of frustrating because this phone with a custom ROM would be nearly ideal for me but because of this issue it gathers dust. (And don't get me started on the V35 I bought to "upgrade" it!)

From what ive been told all the open market variants should have a /OP partition... but appearantly not (anymore)... The H933 has one though, i think
I dont think you can convert a US998 to a H930 though... and using its /OP partition would be pointless, because it only has carriers from Europe in it.

So I guess question is: if some (all?) US998s don't have an /OP partition then how does VoLTE work on the stock ROM on these phones? Any idea where I would start if I want to figure it and see if it's something that can be duplicated on a custom ROM?
Guess I'll reinistall stock and do some exploring...

For the V30 series, stock-based ROMs like AIS and AIX support VoLTE. But LOS based custom roms do not support VoLTE.
For me, I run rooted stock Oreo US998 20h firmware with magisk and Xposed mods.
If I had T-Mobile , I would have VoLTE on US998 20h. But because I use AT&T, I would need to install AT&T Oreo firmware -- which we have here in the forum -- to get VoLTE. I prefer Open Market firmware and don't need VoLTE whatsoever.
VoLTE is not something that can be magically implemented via software. It's something that also depends upon the carrier side. T-Mobile is more eager to get customers then AT&T. I don't know what carrier do you use. For Verizon a lot of people are running VS996 rooted stock firmware.
As to what other devices have VoLTE with LOS custom roms, I don't know.
As for us, we have a thread maintained by a very helpful person who lists all the bugs in
* V30 LOS 17 based ROMs (Android 10)
* older V30 LOS 16 based ROMs.
So for the items you see that list, there's no need to go installing every ROM to check it out. They will all have those same bugs.

A.I.X. is stock Pie custom ROM, developed and maintained by ROM Dev Aeronliru, a.k.a. AeronLee. It's stock Pie on steroids with lots of customization. Found in the Telegram thread.
There are also debloated T-mobile H932 and Verizon VS996 stock Pie ROMs. What variant do you have, which debloated stock ROM are you looking for?
* [ROM][VS996] Verizon LG V30 Pie 30c Debloated ROM
This one is mostly for Verizon users, although technically other compatible North American variants can flash to it.
* [STOCK] [H932] [30d] [Pie] T-Mobile LG V30 Stock Collection
This one is ONLY for T-mobile H932. See post #2 of that thread for the debloating trick.

In a similar situation here and thinking ahead to when ATT shuts down 3g (yeh, 2/22, assuming the phone survives this long
For V30 to have VoLTE on ATT, doesn't it need to 1) have ATT firmware, and also 2) be originally ATT version?
When you mentioned that for you just putting ATT firmware will get you VoLTE, is it because your V30 was originally ATT version?
Since mine is from USCellular, I always thought that putting ATT firmware on it would not get me VoLTE.
Thanks.
Hello. I am coming from a Galaxy Note 9, and I had VoLTE on that.
I currently have an EU version of the 7T Pro, and VoLTE doesn't work.
How can I tell if my device supports it? And is there a way to force it?
I checked my service provider's FDD-LTE bands, and my 7T Pro covers all of them.
Your device would have to be compatible with your carrier.
I have dual sim, so 2 carriers. Only 1 is supported for VoLTE. Not much you can do about it except ask your carrier.

I recall that with the OP devices I had before the 7 Pro VOLTE also didn't automatically work, even with the Magisk mod as this only activates it in the OS settings, but not in the carrier config on your phone.
There was a very helpful thread on a german android forum that outlined the steps to switch this config using a Qualcom tool, but that was for an OP6T and I'm not sure whether the basic procedure is still valid for the OP7T

Thanks a lot for your help, I would be very happy if I got VoLTE working, but this guide from this german forum didn't bring me any closer it seems, I can't even find the "VoLTE switch", "VoWiFi switch" and "VT switch" from step 1... I will be trying to do some research on it if there won't be some easy solution.. Strange thing is T-Mobile VoLTE works, but O2 doesn't, seems like a carrier issue, will try Vodafone some time soon.
I can find the Option under settings/WiFi+internet/Sim+Network/Sim1/VoLTE
Btw. I have O2, it's workig great.
Hello, Hello,
I have tried to to enable Volte and Vowifi with the magisk manager but I have failed to make the VoLTE and VoWifi to work with this way.I have tried a new simple way to enable them.You can download the attached file that is a Logkit that I have grabbed that from an article about activating this services for the OnePlus 7 Pro. I have tested that and I have enabled VoLTE(Greece-Cosmote) with success as you can see in the pictures.Its very simple and you will have to do these steps:
1)Download the attached Logkit
2)Install the Logkit
3)In the dialer type *#800#
4)Go to Oneplus Logkit and -> Function Switch
5)Enable VoLTE switch but don't reboot and enable VoWifi switch and then reboot.
After that you can enable from the sim card to have Volte and Vowifi , you can reboot and profit.
This solution has worked for me and I think that this is a good way to enable these services without magisk.

Hi,
I used this module: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/finally-one-module-unlock-5g-volte-vowifi.4240547/

Now, I tried it on the Pixel 6 and my ims got successfully registered.
(Ofc using this module is not enough, the carrier should enable volte and vowifi for you)
I can't say about 5G as I don't have 5G plan.
Good luck
So does VoLTE and WiFi calling actually work or it just says "registered"?
Could you please share screenshots of a call in progress?
Thank you!
Is it actually working? Don't want to root for nothing and volte is something I'm missing very much
Anyway to go this without root? My oneplus can do it without root

If I root my Pixel 6 and instal this module, can I "lock" my bootloader to get OTA updates on my device afterwards?
No you cannot. Root needs an unlocked bootloader. It's a must.
And can I get OTA updates with unlocked bootloader?
Depends on the handsets. Pixel 6 ota requires some steps to apply. Direct ota install will wipe out the data.
Does WiFi Calling works for you outside of your home country? For me for some weird reason it works only in home country (checked with iPhone - not the carrier's issue).
I was able to force WiFi Calling to connect by performing the following:
switching airplane mode on
disabling magisk volte module
rebooting
enabling module
rebooting
After these steps I was able to get VoWiFi, up until the moment I disable airplane mode.
If your carrier does have a band or support for 5G/VoLTE enabling, it will do nothing good for you

most phones have these options, not just oneplus.
its a google specific problem.
they don't allow these options in unsupported countries, ie every country which pixel isn't officially sold
This module isn’t working now. It works with earlier A12 version. Now IMS is not getting registered
I read on a forum post that technically its possible to make LG G5 VoLTE compatible? How would someone go about this?
It's not unless you are on stock or use a stock based rom. The drivers needed for VOLTE are locked down by LG and cell Carriers

You need root, and european cust files.
Make a clean install and put the open com files in the cust folder/partition which can be found in root. Make a few adjustments, got to the hidden menü and find the ux lte settings and turn the first 6 switches to on.
For deeper information you can ask here but all of this i formation can be found in this forum.
