How to Install YouTube on an HMS Phone
YouTube is the most dominant source for videos on the internet. The YouTube Android app relies heavily on GMS to function properly. Since many of the new Huawei phones have made the switch the HMS, the YouTube app has been left behind for many users. In this thread, we are going to go over the best way to get YouTube working on HMS Huawei phones.
If you open if the Huawei AppGallery, you'll notice that YouTube is completely missing. This is the largest and most popular app that you won't find on the AppGallery. Since there's aren't a whole lot of great alternatives for YouTube, it's important to users that they're able to access this app, no matter when phone they're using.
Using Quick Apps to Access YouTube
In order to use YouTube on your Huawei HMS device, we will be using the Quick Apps feature. This is a pretty simple process and will only take a moment to setup.
Step 1. Open the Quick App Center. You might not find this on your device right away. If so, go to your AppGallery and search "Quick App Center". You will be able to open and set up your Quick Apps from there.

Step 2. In the search bar at the top, type in "YouTube". This will find the YouTube quick app which you can now select.
Step 3. Add the YouTube quick app to your homescreen. You will have the option to do this as you exit the quick app. A prompt will display asking you if you want to add YouTube to your homescreen. Select yes.
Now you can easily access YouTube with all of the features you'd find in the official app.
Very interesting and useful.
Very interesting. Thanks.

So this post is to ask developers out there, to make a third party client for instagram, there are hundreds of clients for twitter and Facebook, why hasn't anyone made an instagram one? (There are like 3 in the play store but all of em are very bad).
These companies have trillions of dollars and can't make decent apps, I love Instagram, but the android Iinstagram client is HIDEOUS, its all clunky and slow, it does not follow android design guidelines at all, its just a blown up version of the OLD version from iOs 6, bottom line, it sucks.
Here is a mockup of a nice and slick instagram client someone made like a year ago or so, this is what we need, please devs step up and give us a nice instagram client, I'd be happy to pay for it!

Would be nice to have an APK sideloading feature integrated into app.
Apollo Wear Inspector is not installing to my Huawei Watch. Latest versions of all software on phone (Sony Z5 Compact) and watch.
I am not sure which sub-forum to post this question in Android Dev and Hacking, so I posted it here. If there is a better place to post this, please let me know.
So, I got this idea to develop an accessibility feature for Android. Sometimes people may forget what an app does on their phone. They may want to have a helpful hint displayed and/or spoken out to them when they tap an icon in their phone's launcher. For example, as in the image below, if you tap on Google Maps app, a helpful suggestion would appear as a toast saying that "Google Maps provides world maps and turn-by-turn navigation". Additionally, the user may configure to hear the hint as well. The details about how to activate the hint can be figured out but the basic idea is that the user would interact with an app icon on their homescreen or the app drawer in the launcher (either by long-pressing, tapping or some other way) and hear or see a hint about the app's action, which may be retrieved from the Google Play Store.

Now, I am fairly new to Android development and since this is quite a different thing than a standard app, I was not sure how to go about developing it.
So, specifically, what I want to know is:
How to identify when a user clicks on the icon of an app on the homescreen or app launcher?
How to make use of this event to then pull appropriate information and present it to the user?
Do I need to develop a custom launcher app to be able to identify user presses etc.? Or can I somehow retrieve this information from whatever launcher a user uses and give the hint?

My GPS Location Switcher is a new and free android app that allows to fake your location and makes you look as if you are in another place (city or country).
the app doesn't need the GPS to be turned on, just your network connection would do the job. My GPS Location Switcher will change your current location, and makes any third party apps that uses or needs your gps position (like social media apps) believe you are in a different place.
you can use the app to have fun with their friends making them believe you are in another place. and what's great is that the app doesn't need root access, just download and enjoy playing games on your friens and family.
the app is very useful when used with GEO-location-based apps such as:
- social media apps: twitter,facebook,whatsapp...
- dating app.
- travelling apps.
- navigation apps.
- chat apps.

Nice app work good and do what we expect of it, despite a simple and concise interface, a little lack of option to activation or desactivation rapid thanks to a pop-up that can be discreet.
Hoping that soon the application can be ad-free.

really good sir
