Miui v12.2.1.0 RJBMIXM - Xiaomi Mi 10 Questions & Answers

Hi, my mi10 is currently running global v12.0.6 QJBMIXM stable. I have now started to get an OTA message saying v12.2.1.0 RJBMIXM is ready to d/load.
I have read on here some horror stories about the 12.2 version in general, so my question is: Have Xiaomi sorted the bugs in v12 yet ? or should I just keep clear of this 12.2 version altogether.
I also read on some other sites that Xiaomi are telling users not to d/load 12.2. because its so buggy. If this is the case then why are they still pushing it OTA

I returned to Android 10. The Android 11 version currently has many bugs and many software is not compatible. It is recommended to wait 1 month or 2 before updating.

Thanks,,, thats what I was thinking, I've heard a lot about Xiaomi's Android 11 & none of it good. Its just daft that they're pushing an OTA version with so many Known bugs in it.

As far as I know, there were two versions of 12.2.2 OTA updates - one that was quickly revoked and the second one which is suppose to be fixed. If you mention the problems and bugs, it would be nice to give some precise infor for other users to understand what actually is not working and to decide.
I am personally using a XEU ROM, and am getting ready to move to A11 build, after many users confirmed that it's running fine.

12/20/10 is not good.
The gestures don't work well. After exiting google maps, the gestures generally do not react. You have to put the phone to sleep and wake it up again.
The battery wears out faster.
Any problems with charging when the phone is turned off.
I do not recommend it, it's better to install earlier versions, but application cloning and OK Google do not work in them

Mate, you're talking about a weekly beta build. @markcoopz was asking about last stable build.

Did your 12.2.2.0 OTA say if it was a stable or a stable beta.
My 12.2.1.0 OTA says that its a "Limited release for pilot testers". Thats why I was asking if its worth the hassle. If I ignore this update, will I automatically get the next the next ver. or will the OTA system expect me to install this 1 ist.

I have same rom. No problems.

On android 11 both stock and miuimix version is there a decent twrp for it? I have the one chinese variant from littleturtle that works somewhat and none of the other variants of twrp even boot to twrp on 11 they all go back to fastboot. If you do fastboot boot command you get a black screen. The littleturtle build boots on reboot but not on fastboot boot... does not show data to even be able to mount, will flash both stock and miuimix roms and canary magisk but is quirky.

It says Miui12.2.2.0 Stsble

Have the global edition UMI R was solid as long as I did not try to root it,, TWRP (little turtle edition) was buggy and would flash but was limited on what it would do, had to use canary magisk and it was buggy, LR TWRP would loop if you flashed on R but would boot if you waited a while.. literally have a black screen and think its bricked then it comes up... So I downgraded to Q (used MiFlash) was able to flash working twrp (LR edition) and magisk (latest) then went to miuimix Q also with same TWRP and Magisk. Waiting for development on R as I the workarounds for R for the most part did not work on Miui global R. Would reboot phone sometimes ok others to fastboot. Even with Q some reboots go to fastboot and TWRP is still there and working but it will say no OS installed. Dirty flash over it and it comes back like nothing happened even current magisk persisted. Love the speed and phone until it does this. I did not see a great deal of better features with R over Q to justify continued effort until more development occurs. Still not risking Viper4Android on it, Wavelet does work though and offers some of what is in Viper4Android.

I have the global edition and I am on 12.6.0. Had an ota a few weeks ago and went to download but it comes up not found. Now when I check updates I don't get any new one. I assume they have pulled these updates?

I received 12.2.4 EEA this morning. Seems better than 12.2.1 but fonts don't work anymore

My phone is still on MIUI V12.2.2.0 RJBMIXM, i am facing so many issues in this version, system errors, miui crashs, application crashes, cant share anything between applications, and i have been waiting from beginning of December for a new version to be released, but no luck untill now, i wish if i can downgrade to MIUI 12 A10 based

What's the changelog?
Sent from my MI 8 using Tapatalk
Maybe it has ARB, so keep eyes opens (on xiaomi.eu the new roms based on android 9 are marked with “Anti Roll Back” )
Looks like its still android 8.1 by the filename.
I flashed this. This is also global beta, but the closed nightly one. I am unsure of the changelog (no permission)
I've read some comments saying the number at the end of the ROM file represents the Android version (It's still 8.x Oreo).
miui_MI8Global_8.9.4_5162352d78_8.1.zip
According to the mi forums there are just some bug fixes. Nothing new at all. The software developers of Xiaomi are seriously a joke. There's still no official stable even after three months after release of their allegedly flagship that got unveiled with MIUI 10. The Chinese and global version differs in features (Chinese shows WhatsApp notifications in the Always On screen for example), the cheap ass Mi8se got miui10 already, but the flagship doesn't, ok Google never worked in any Rom so far and not to forget the whole discussion about bootloader's or GPS. It's a ridiculous failure so far in my opinion

I need tonwait 720 hours to unlock. Is it ok to flash it via updatet or better to wait for the fastboot/unlocked bl?
just flash via updater like me. just make sure u have a global version mi 8.
Is it really based on Android 9.0?
It's not, how do you get that idea? Funny thing is, that the roms get worse with every update IMHO. The best working so far was actually 8.8.7. With 8.8.21 some of the gestures stopped working and the AOD flashed white before activating, additionally it became slow and laggy after some time without reboot. The AOD is fixed now, gestures still doesn't fully work, same goes for "ok Google". Why the Chinese version supported WhatsApp notifications in the AOD and the global doesn't is another oddity. I'm not impressed.

Will data be erased if I update from updater? I am still on latest global stable.

Global 8.9.6 is still Oreo. To be exact: 8.1.0 OPM 171019.026 Tapping 8.1.0 shows Oreo cookie. Hope that answers.

MIUI 11 release date set to 16.10.2019

According to Xiaomi India, MIUI 11 "might" get out of beta on 16.10.2019.
On a personnal note, I don't believe the Mi 9 will receive the update first since there are now several models already on MIUI 11.
Aside from the A series without MIUI (Android One), I won't ever touch a Mi phone in the near future.
The ROM building is a disaster, the Mi 9 is en route to being updated last, EEA ROM still having notifications problems...
Bleh.

Not ever again for me.
That's the same date what xiaomi is advertising since 2 days so it should be possible. And if you dont like the Stock Rom, switch to xiaomi.eu. All Bugs from Stock are not present there and if you dont follow the Installation Tips from most users you will never have any problems. Btw. Use lrteam twrp and not maronofrio. Even if its included in the xiaomi.eu Rom just Flash lrteam twrp after flashing the Rom and everything else you need. Its allways based on latest China beta (without bloadware and ads) All features are opend to every body even without a xiaomi Account. You allways get the latest Android Version, security Patch and miui Version that are existing. Sometimes you have to wait a week for a security Patch but thats nearly Pixel Niveau. For example Android 10 was there a few months ago (without Bugs) miui 11 is there for two weeks now (without Bugs) you get weekly Updates. And with magisk and/or xposed you can change the whole System as you want it even like Stock Android (except for the settings App). Xiaomi.eu is the allround Rom for everybody who likes to mod his System as Hard as you can(just if you want tofor sure) and stay up to Date with a Rock stable System. Just dont Listen to the dozend users Posting their bugs/problems on xiaomi.eu forum or here on xda, 99% of These problems are in Front of the Display and not behind it. If you need some instructions, Flash latest lrteam twrp (1001) Flash latest xiaomi.eu Rom (10.10.) Flash magisk (if you want to) and if you want allways working Backups (even over different Android Versions and different twrps) remove encryption (included in twrp "advanced" (rm force encrypt) ). After that just Flash lrteam twrp img again (just from within twrp) because xiaomi.eu Rom Installation will over write it. For updating the weekly you just habe to wipe "System (yes even if devs say you dont need to) dalvik and Cache" Flash Update, Flash magisk, rm force encrypt, Flash lrteam twrp img, reboot and you are happy forever. I am dirty flashing Updates for over 4 months now every week and never had a single Bug with this method. I know this Was maybe a little bit ot sorry for that.

A very clear write-up. I appreciate your time and efforts. I am using MIUI 11 (lastest version released last friday) and it is working very fuild smooth and also no bloatwares. I have customised to my taste and works better. I like xiaomi mi 9 for the simplicity in modding ourselves.
Are they releasing Global and EEA ROM in the same time or EEA ROM will came a little bit later after Global ROM?
Is anybody know this?!

Sorry, but that's just not correct.
You are right in the fact that some, or most, of the bugs in the stock ROM are not on Xiaomi.eu ROM, but it's a trade-off, you trade some bugs for other bugs and for some other stupid ideas from the developers.
Xiaomi.eu developers hard mod the ROM themselves, a lot of stupid choices going on there. For instance, the developers thought it is a good idea to remove the Message notification option from the settings, because they think SMS messages are just like any other notification, and their advice, if you want to have a different sound for SMS notification, is to go to App Info and modify from there. Of course, that DOES NOT WORK, the sound gets reset to default notification sound every single time, but they don't fix that or restore the freaking option in settings. And the list can go on and on.
Also, the stock apps are a mess, because they are not really the Global ones, but not Chinese versions either, they are also modded by the developers of Xiaomi.eu, so they work like crap or not at all in some cases. Forget about updating them, there is no way to do that unless you install the APK directly and then, in most cases, they works even worse.
Basically, xiaomi.eu is a pain to live with, it might be nice for those who just use the phone to look fancy and to take a few pictures, but if you actually USE the phone, it's crap.
That being said, the Stock ROM is no joy either, it gets updated once every 3-6 months and basically, like 10% of the features and fixes from the defunct Global Beta make it to the Global Stable. So yeah...for short, Xiaomi can make great phones, but they make crap ROM and there are no decent options of a good ROM, in my opinion.

Miui 11 v11.0.7.0.qjcmixm

I hope someone finds this helpful.
I have been waiting for MIUI 12 and seeing family members Redmi phones receiving newer versions of MIUI 11, I decided to go looking.
MIUI 11 V11.0.7.0.QJCMIXM Update at 2020-08-28 13:58:11 is now available. :good:
Changelog:
Other
Optimization: Increased system stability
Optimization: Reduced system lag
Download link for both OTA and Recovery are available here.
https://mirom.ezbox.idv.tw/en/phone/lancelot/
I followed this guide to upgrade to this latest update of MIUI 11 using the OTA file.
https://c.mi.com/thread-1890305-1-0.html
My Redmi 9 is now on - V11.0.7.0.QJCMIXM which is much smoother and noticeably better, i am looking forward to MIUI 12 when it is available.
Just an FYI...
This also appears to have fixed the icons disappearing on the bottom of my home screen from time to time, which apparently only occurs when you have an app draw setup.
I haven't seen it occur in over 24hrs, where it used to happen regularly before I did the update.
Tnks a lot...i also update my redmi 9...it work great ..root also work...
so should I download and use the recovery one or the ota version ?

Use the OTA and you can upgrade from V11.0.4.0.QJCMIXM to V11.0.7.0.QJCMIXM without needing to reset anything or lose any data.
It is just like receiving the update via Wifi..
For some reason, I did not receive the OTA via Wifi as my phone kept saying "No updates available"... Yet here it is.

It's a good version from xiaomi for redmi 9 it's more stable and felt like a real "stable build" .
I'm not existing for miui 12, just felling that it will be buggy

Most Stable official Rom?

I recently bought Mi note 10 lite and its on miui 11 right now. Since I won't be able to roll back the firmware I wanted to ask which one should I use to update. Should I update to lates official rom from ota? Is there any complaints about the updates?

If it can be reversed, at least I did it from Android 11 (miui 12.1.1), I was in global miui 12.0.3 and also tried miui eu, however I ended up going back to the factory ROM.
The best ROM for the mi note 10 Lite is miui 11.0.8 in performance and battery.

This can be concluded as 'Do not update.'
The main concern now is about the old security patch, which may risk the data in the device from hacking. An alternative attempt to fix security problems is to install trusty ( I mean famous and good rated) antimalware app(s), which may take a little bit of storage and use a little bit of battery.
AOSP or debloated roms can be also nice battery-wise and speed-wise, but there are stability concerns, bugs and can also affect security.

The issue of security is relative in the devices because it will depend on the type of use you give it, personally I still do not think there is a stable and secure ROM better than Miui 11.0.8 (at the moment).
As I discussed earlier, I have tested all the official ROMs on this device and none will be better in fluidity and battery management than the factory ROM.
We'll see what happens to miui 12.5, but for now I'm staying where I am.

You are absolutely right, it is better to wait a few months while we see how the official and custom ROMs evolve because at the moment there is nothing stable.

You are absolutely right, it is better to wait a few months while we see how the official and custom ROMs evolve because at the moment there is nothing stable.

It may be worth mentioning that it is rumored that MIUI 12.5 is fluid but battery is still kind of, bad. The MIUI 12.5 is still in alpha state (China devloper version) though, hope that the battery drain is fixed in the final stable build.
We might need to wait for MIUI 13 and probably battery life will get better...

Unfortunately, because of warranty concerns, I don't want to unlock BL. This breaks the warranty. Hence I dont have chance roll back.
Right now my rom is 11.0.4 and I found a problem where I am not able to use slow motion recording. Camera just stops responding.

Hello friend ..
I found the performance and battery problems in the global versions 12.0.3 and 12.1.1, in the same way in the custom ROM of miui.eu 12.0.3.
I understand that Xiaomi does not remove the warranty for unlocking the bootloader, but still, I think you can try updating to the version of miui 11.0.8 because it runs very smoothly for me and is the best.
Regards.

Por supuesto

Download the Zip and move it to the downloaded_rom folder.
Then go to settings, About the Phone, then update system and on the miui 11 logo, touch several times to activate the advanced installation options.
Go to the 3 points on the top right and select package to update. Select the package saved in the downloaded_rom folder.
The download link is from miui 11.0.8 global, if you need the miui EEA tell me.

Although Xiaomi does ot care about BL, distributor in my country does. So in my case I wont unlock until warranty time is over.

Question Can't update to stable beta V13.0.4.0.SKIEUXM

Hi, anybody with EEA version can't update to stable beta V13.0.4.0.SKIEUXM? It says can't verify package. Downloaded from MIUI updater official as always.
Managed to! Update to 12.5.7 first!
Great update as for now, smoother but even before this update 12.5 was smooth.
Love the sidebar. Unfortunately dark mode for individual apps disappeared probably due to glitches. Hopefully it will be back.
the update isn't yet uploaded to the fastboot rom files page. it might be a bug that that made it appear to the phones because it mustn't be ready yet. search for mi 11 lite 5g latest eea on this page https://c.mi.com/oc/miuidownload/detail?guide=2
it will download 12.5.7.0

Managed to brick my device this morning by stupidly trying to flash thru TWRP the EEA 13.04 rom, when I realised too late I was on the global version of 12.5.7. Tried Mi Flash, QPST and QFIL methods, all with no joy - kept on failing. Pretty sure it ended up in EDL mode but nothing would work. Gutted to be paying a local fixit shop monery for first time in 15 yrs of tinkering, rooting, magisk ing etc!! On connection/disconnection to PC there was the usual noises so I know it is not dead as such. Somewhat frustrating. I have found this phone to not reliable like TWRP and when it is repaired I will stick to just Magisk for my rooting and not V 24 as I was never able to get GPay to ;play nicely with that either!
Best of luck all. Any tips/suggestions as ever gratefully received. Thanks to all Devs
