Camera rattles when not in use - Motorola Edge + (2020) Questions & Answers

Anyone else notice a rattle in the camera when the screen is off or when not using the camera app? It's noticeable when you gently shake the phone.
It goes away when you open the camera outside of macro mode. Just making sure I'm not the only one.

Yeah, me too, but that's normal, because cameras have optical stabilization,You can find help in the Settings, which will explain the device in detail

the only possible feature available is to turn on hdr..(not auto)and set exposure manually..this will give a clear pic even in low light..am perfect with this..and use google camera's hdr to take pics of notes or books,etc..it will be more prominent..and the camera is good outdoors...but indoor use is horrible..
and yes one more thing..if you have time and want to take macro shots..just place a magnifying glass infront of your camera lens and adjust the distance to get a clear shot..
thats all i have discovered till now..
[QRCODE]just hit thanks if i helped[/QRCODE]

OIS... it's the optical image stabilization feature to allow for less motion blur in low light photos and less shaky video. :good:

Is there a way to disable it? 1st time LG user..before this samsung s3
Um... not sure how to disable it... maybe I am not understanding the problem?
Generally OIS is thought of as a desirable feature...

The problem is that when i already focus to an object, but the lens is still moving. Is it normal?
The object is in non moving motion. But lens still moving..like a gyroscope not in balance..
In my camera test,it stated fail for my gyroscope test..any chance to calibrate it?
edit; already found how to calibrate it, but during system test found my laser detect test is fail...how to do?
The subject may not be moving but the camera is compensating for the phone being moved.
Are you using a tripod? Are you experiencing poor camera performance? Why are you looking at the lens while focusing?
I'm sorry, I don't know how to do those calibrations, but there may be certain external requirements to pass/calibrate them. I don't understand what problem you are experiencing or what you are trying to correct... I am guessing your using the hidden menu tests?

Camera pictures are way too grainy

A few months back I upgraded my phone from op2 to LG g5 H860.
So, I've been playing around with my phone and I noticed that my camera pictures are grainy. Seems like pictures taken on a 5mp (or lesser) camera.
I took pictures with my camera (all default settings and auto mode) without any zoom and after capturing I tried to zoom in into the picture, like 20% zoom to notice that they are very noisy. I'm not so good at photography, so I never bothered to check this kind of stuff with my other phones before.
I have taken pictures with both rear and front cameras and they both look very noisy. Like water color painted pictures. I'm not sure if I'm putting the right words here but I think you get what I am talking about. I am adding a sample attachment.
Can someone tell me if this is normal or am I missing something here or if there's some problem with my phone itself?
I am already frustrated that I can't unlock my bootloader and I hope this wouldn't add more to it.
Do you tried clear the lenses?

Yes I did. But that doesn't seem to be like a problem with dirty lenses?
Man, I had the same exact problem.. buy new lens.
Try manual mode and turn down the iso speed. Sometimes higher iso speeds produce heavy grain. See if that helps any.

I guess it's the only solution. Thanks.
I had this problem as well. I turned off HDR under settings and that fixed it.

I think aperature mode reduces some of the over face softening and blemish removal. But it's still not as sharp as some phones like the Pixel. I think some places in the world prefer softer and lighter faces, so it's incorporated into the camera software. I'm awaiting replacement right now, so I can't check to see if its available under the front camera. It helped with the back camera for me.
Just looked, sadly there is no aperture under front camera. Is there any other way to reduce it? It is a software thing right?
And I tried to use portrait mode with selfie cam but there is no bokeh effect do I have to do something else?
Reduce beauty effect to zero
I did does not help sadly

In the camera app.. There are 3 options to get what you wanted. Test them all. I find the selfie cam close to pixel phone as well
I will try thanks. But what about the bokeh effect? It does not apply to it when I shoot a picture in the portrait mode

I got this answer from other forum.
I am not sure you are talking about the fron or rear camera so i just assume you meant the fron one.
Go to portrait mode, there will be 3 buttons below, press the one on the bottom left and select the one after "None"; the round one.
Try taking photos after you adjust the settings above.

Hi! In view finder there is a option(looks like a box), you should enable it for bokeh mode.
If you use portrait mode, and really need the bokeh (which is far from perfect even on Pixel 3), then use Portrait mode, and just hold still when you take the shot. The phone will sharpen the photo if you hold the phone steady.
My selfies are sharper on the Mate 20 Pro than my Pixel 3 (Which I am going to sell as it's rubbish)
Also, remember the smart HDR can make the photo look overprocessed.
CHinese version is updated to 166 and reportedly to improve selfie. I'll wait if not I will sell it.

Selfie terribly bad

So im a bit confused. Maybe its just happening to my phone but i highly doubt it. So i open the selfie camera and i align up for a shot. Everything looks crisp and clear while alingning the photo. Once I take the photo and go to the gallery to view it. Oh my god it is really bad, like it was taken with a phone from 10 years ago. No dinamic range, no clarity, details lost, flatten everything. I have a beard, before actually pressing the camera button you can see every hair and everything looks good. After i press the button and take the picture it is all gone. Now before you say it, i have everything turned down (beauty mode, hdr, and any sort of filters) and i tried with them on as well. The camere is set on the 24mp setting and on photo mode not portrait. Please help, im going mad about this as i see the potential of a good photo with extremely bad result. Thanks
Same here same issue after update to 10 anyone can help or assist with a fix

For me at least it was like this since forever. The image processing is terrible even tho the cameras are really potent
i don't have this problem but the selfie are really horrible! my old Oneplus 3 with gcam really do a way better job
(also pic in low light are horrible....)
Same problem. I saw that Huawei phones even if you disable all the features they try to push it back on. Like
The camera settings even if you turn the beauty off it will do a some kind of beauty auto
The sound you can't turn the dolby off is always on
The brightness if you untick auto if you restart auto is coming back
