i've switched from CognitionS2 to the gingerMOD
all data and cache partition has wiped before i flash the ROM
after the phone rebooted the storage is working properly
and when i restore my apps through MyBackup Root
when it the restore progress reach about 70% i've got FC from the app
and i tried to restore the app again, it couldn't get data from the selected restore file
so i reboot my device and got the "USB Storage damaged" warning in my notification bar
in recovery mode, i can flash any zip files. so that the internal storage is not REALLY damaged
any way to solve this problem?

Hi,
after flashing a custom ROM which did not work as expected, I got "E: unable to mount ..." errors.
After investigating I formated the preload and mounted preload manually in the recovery.
Somehow my SCARD now shows additional "/0" in the path to the data, leading to data being unable to be found.
e.g. to the download folder is now located in SDCARD/0/0/0/DOWNLOAD.
I assume this happened when mounting the preload or other folders maually?!
How can I get this back?
I do not tink this is realted to any ROM or device, but I am on OMNIRom 4.4.4, CWM 5.5., GTAB 7510 Wifi
Thanks

"Preload" seems to be A system partition, secondary for preloaded system apps, so you really should not be mounting that to SDCARD (internal storage) unless it's unused by the roms and you know what your doing/want that partition for personal use.
If the rom gave you that error(unable to mount..) right after installing it then I would not recommend the ROM.
Can you access SDcard eg. use the files?
sdcard should normally be seen as:
/sdcard
or:
/storage/emulated/0(or legacy)
you can mount the partitions correctly but you have to find the right partition layout for your gtab.
Hi all,
After setting up Lineage OS 14.1 on my Galaxy S4 (I9505), I noticed that the camera app asked me to insert an SD card to continue, thinking this was strange, I decided to have a look at my storage status, it appears that my device shows up with 0 B free in the storage browser, and upon plugging it into a PC for MTP, I'm shown the device and internal "shared" storage with nothing in it. I've done some googling for what could be a possible issue, to no avail so far.
I've tried using the terminal in TWRP to create a directory on /sdcard/ and set up userinit.sh for that directory.
I would hate to have to reflash the device yet again as it's taken me ages to get this setup, and I don't want to have to buy an external SD card just for this phone (although something tells me that wont mount properly?)
Your assistance is much appreciated.
More details:
I notice when trying to tick the System partition in the Mount section of TWRP, I get a console message saying that the storage device could not be found.
I bit the bullet and tried re-installing the ROM from scratch. I made sure to do a clean installation, by wiping Internal Storage, System, Data, Cache and Dalvik Cache, ensuring system, data and cache were mounted. Installation went through without any errors as far as I could see.
The problem seems to be solved upon looking at the camera app. I will install and restore all my Google data and confirm this. Indeed it works. Please mark as solved!
I took out my sdcard and did format data on the internal storage and now i can't mount my sdcard in twrp. Didn't think about the fact that removing the encryption on the internal storage would make it unable to recognize the encryption on the sdcard afterwards. Is there any way to fix this? Or did I just screw myself?
When I reinstalled the rom and tried to boot it still asks me for my password which still works even though I can't boot because it says that the data is corrupted. But the encryption key should still be stored somewhere apparently. There must be a way to use it to decrypt the sdcard.

Hi, Orangefox can't wipe data, it gives me this error: unable to mount storage. I think the problem is that the data partition is somehow encrypted, but i haven't encrypted it so now I can't decrypt it because I don't have the password. I've already tried with the unlock password but it fails. I know the easy solution would be to format all data including internal storage but I would like to avoid that possibility. Do you know what can I do?
(The CrDroid rom I was installing before this problem occurred is in bootloop, so I can't access it).
Have you tried other recovery? TWRP, PE, Miui.
TWRP tells me the same thing: Unable to mount storage
I think the only solution is to format data. Is there a way to recover the files? I have no backup.
Data return is possible. Formatting must not be done and you must load the ROM from which the data came. That is, the last working ROM. After running it, then back up the data and only then try a new ROM where the data will be formatted.

How do i load the rom? I can't install it with TWRP, it says:
Devices on super may not mount until rebooting
recovery.
To flash additional zips, please reboot recovery to
switch to the updated slot.
I've tried also with OrangeFox, same error
OK, the problem was relative to the A/B slots: by switching to the other slot I managed to install and access to the rom. Now I can recover the files, so I can format data without problems. Thank you!
