I'm running a custom rom with no gapps and with UnifiedNlp+GSM Location Service. Now I'm trying to install Gcam Services Provider (https://github.com/lukaspieper/Gcam-Services-Provider) to be able to run Gcam without instant crash. When trying to install the latter, I get "App not installed" and I'm guessing this is because both fake services use com.google.android.gms. Is there any solution to this without installing microG or other form of gapps?

Hi, I just transitioned to CyanogenMod 12.1 and I want to install the Google Play Store app but I'm not sure what are the advantages of flashing a minimal GApps package over simply sideloading the APK... or whether there even are any advantages at all. I know that the GApps package also includes some extra functionality, but what is that functionality and can I do without it?
Just the Play Store alone isn't enough. It's best to install a Gapps package because it will install the Google Services Framework, Play Store, and a couple more things needed to make it work. I find it best to flash an appropriate package and then just disable whatever you don't need after you boot. If you uninstall something important, it's more of a pain to install again vs just defreezing the app. You don't save any more usable space by deleting them anyway as they are stored in a different partition vs apps you load from the Play Store.
Hello,
I recently shifted to 8.1 ROMs and in each ROM that I tried, I have the same bug: Apps I download (not update) from Play Store take a long time to install. Download completes but installation is the problem. I use MagisK 15.2 with MagisK hide turned on for Play Store and Play Services. I used unofficial GApps of different providers. If I restore back to ViperOS Nougat build, the apps install instantly though. I tried clearing cache of both Store and services but didn't help me either. Please help me.
Edit: I noticed that upon reboot, those apps appear in my phone. I can't just reboot for every single app installation.
Edit 2: I do think the new play services is the culprit. Because when it installs, the apps I install after it take more time to install.
Hello,
I have a Ulefone 6E rooted with Magisk with HavocOS 2.9 custom rom installed
I'm trying to get rid of everything google (i don't have a google account)
HavocOS 2.9 has no google apps installed (no Gapps), nor Google mobile services or google play services.
Problem on this rom:
Without play services, GPS and many apps (transferwise, epayments...) that require play services don't work.
So i installed the nanodroid microG package NanoDroid-microG-22.4.20190811.zip
Thanks to microG, the GPS work in my GPS applications (API were installed) but i continue not beeong able to use my apps that rely on play services, i get this message:
Transferwise won't run without Play Services, wich are not supported by your device
So i'm guessing microG is not really using signature spoofing to fake the presence of play services to apps like Transferwise or Epayments ???
How can i make them work ?
I have enabled, in phone settings, spoof signature package app permission for microG services core, fakestore and signature spoofing checker (an app i installed to see if signature spoofing was working)
Note that the app signature spoofing checker tells me that signature spoofing is diseabled.
Also, in microG settings, in Self-check option, system grants signature spoofing permission is checked, but system spoofs signayure is unchecked (so it appears spoof signature is not really activated) (and i can't check this box)
I don't know what to do there....
Also note that Play services info app used to check if play services are correctly installed tells me Google Play services are invalid or incomplete (it told me the same thing when i installed the official google play services, that i tried before installing microG, downloaded from apkmirror com.google.android.gms_19.2.75_(100400-269183835)-19275037_minAPI28(arm64-v8a,armeabi-v7a)(nodpi)_apkmirror.com.apk)
So please tell me what to do to really make signature spoofing work and fake google play services (i didn't enable google device registration in microG settings because i want privacy, maybe that is the problem ? But if i enable google device registration there is no point in using microG for me)
Thanks in advance

google apps
you messed something up, most of the apps use google play service, you must have it.
I do not use google as well but it must be present into the device.
You have to re-flash the rom, after that before boot the phone up flash google apps.
After that, you can uninstall whatever you want except google play service, google framework and google play.
Google play can be disabled, no need to uninstall it. i use Aptoide as market much better than the google one.
all the rest will work, maps no need to log in.
You can not get rid definitely of google in android.
Out of interest, how does Havoc run on the phone? I've had mine for about 4 months now (rooted) but a bit sick of the buggy standard software. Do you recommend installing the custom OS?
Hello. I will begin with my root problem: I need to install newer (than stock 5.0.2) android on LG v490.
I installed the LineageOS (android 7.1.2), rooting with KingRoot -> using Flashify to boot into TWRP -> installed LineageOS.
During that whole process I was unable to boot to see bootloader (it was just normally booting) using adb. Now it also looks impossible.
Now I would like to install Google Play Store: downlaoded the package and the instructions says (because it's not just .apk file) to isntall this using TWRP. I cannot boot to TWRP. Last time (with stock ROM) i booted into TWRP using Flashify, but Flashify requires root from me. I am using Kingo Root, KingoRoot (and something else) both for Android and PC and every time it shows me "fail" or "Unable to root".
What can I do now in order to install Google Store?
@Morales1235
In order to install Google Play Store phone's Android must NOT got rooted.
You install it manually.
How-to:
Download from APKMIRROR these 4 APKs matching your phone's Android version:
Google Account Manager APK
Google Services Framework APK
Google Play Services APK
Google Play Store APK
Install the downloaded APKs in exact this order
Google Account Manager APK → Google Services Framework APK → Google Play Services APK → Google Play Store APK
to get the Google Play Store working correctly.
Finally re-boot
Thank you! Let's see, but...
How can I know which version of Google Play Services is proper for my android version? This is the only APK that has different numbering than android.
@edit
Ok, I downlaoded the latest version of Google Play Services for android 6.0+. After installation in given order constantly I get error that Google Services Framework stopped working. Wrong version or what?

Read here.
Buttons for clearing data and cache for Google Play Services are unavailable :/ Tried to just force stop Google Play Services and proceed with the others (as says in the link provided) but after reboot and running store I am still getting this error. No help in comments in provided article.
Anyone knows which version of "Google Play Services" (and then Google Play Store) should I choose for Lineage OS 7.1.2? I Suppose Play services keeps stopping because of wrong version.

You mix up Google Play Services and Google Services Framework: these are 2 different things!
Google Services Framework is used to update Google apps and apps from Google Play Store. This component provides core functionality like authentication to your Google services, synchronized contacts, access to all the latest user privacy settings, and higher quality, lower-powered location based services.
The required version of Google Services Framework depends on phone's model and Android version.

1. Acc manager: I found version 7.1.2
2. Services Framework: found version 7.1.2
3. Play Services: Numeration is different than android version! (eg. 20.26.14)
4. Play Store: Numeration is different than android version! (different numbers than above)
How should I determine which version of Services and Store I need to install?
@Morales1235
You still don't get it. :crying:

Hence the Google Services Framework ( GSF ) you installed is not compatible!
FYI: The Google Play Services ( GMS) contains the individual Google services and runs as a background service in the Android OS.
BTW: I no longer participate this thread. Have a nice day.
Is it possible to Autostart Google Play Services in the CN Rom Version ?
I installed the Google Play Store / Services / Framework manually , but i need to Manual Start them by either opening YouTube or the Playstore.
If i Close the playstore those Services also seem to Stop working (SmartWatch disconnects).
Could i somehow Install them as System Apps and would that fix my issue ?
If your device is rooted - yes. Just follow one of the numerous guides for the steps.
