aslo badly need miui on my mi a3
It is literally known as meme-ui the whole Android community gives out about it, it is a meme for how bad it is.
Your better off going with an aosp rom as your privacy and data will be safe, Android one just gives it all to Google aswel.
Read up about these things first don't just go blindly flashing stuff coz it's "cool".
Plus it's a lot heavier than an aosp rom which will eat ram and battery on the device and probably result in a decrease in performance.
What is the reasoning behind wanting miui so much? Just out of curiosity.
Is there any way to install gsi on mi a3? tried to install resurrection remix through fastboot in "A" slot (fastboot flash system system.img) but phone doesn't boot.

i am using miui from very first of my phone. and after buying mi a3 i just stuck into minimal feature of android one .. also i need to get back app locker, privacy locker, screen recoder with internal audio, real full screen gesture dark mode and many mode without using any 3rd party app
Why did you buy the A3 in the first place? CC9e is identical in specs but with MIUI, I'd buy this phone because of Android One like the most of us.

moreover, CC9e has FullHD+ 1080p screen, unlike A3.
3 yars since A1 was released, and people are still buying Android One devices to install miui there...

nope the cc9e is also 720p. the cc9 is indeed fhd (aka mi 9 lite)
yes, such a shame... and makes no sense, the android one support does add to the price the phones so why... is a big mistery for me too... not to mention variety, there's countkess more miui phones to choose from

What you are saying used to be true.
I hated Miui when I first tried it in 2017. Recent Global versions of Miui is fantastic, I prefer using the customized Xiaomi/EU rom.
AOSP has its merits, but the Xiaomi Meme thing is honestly outdated and frankly silly.
and after so many jokes and history classes, and explanations of the boy who works at bestbuy, is there any way to use MIUI in the A3?

...Second space
Record calls (without using any 3rd party app)
etc, etc, etc
What's so bad on using 3rd party apps to have those feature? I for one have zero interest in call recorder, screen recorder, app lock, second space or any of the MIUI apps and I'm glad that these, for me useless apps are not part of the system. That's why I always choose clean Android. If you know that you need such features, well, buy a phone with MIUI..? Even if you somehow manage to boot MIUI on A3, it won't support OTA updates and most probably some of the essential features won't work (e.g. FP sensor).

If Mi CC9e had a global MIUI (not English / Chinese only), there would be no such conversation. But since there are a lot of people who like MIUI more than Android Stock, there are a lot of people looking for MIUI for the Mi A3!

Xiaomi has 4 phones with Android One and at least 20 with MIUI. A3 is nothing special (except the Android One program), why on Earth would you choose it over any other phone with fully supported MIUI out of the box? Just to complain that you miss things which are deliberately not present?

A3 is nothing special? Tell me one smartphone with a screen less than 6 inches (for me very important) and a decent battery (over 4000 mAh). In addition it has a good / excellent camera.

I am not familiar with MIUI phones as I find zero interest in them. If there is no such phone, I guess you need to make a compromise somewhere.
Most recent phones have excellent camera with gcam mod.
Guys, MIUI has its benefits, but stock android is not that bad either. I just love stock android.
But it seems many people are regretting buying this phone. Maybe someone will port MIUI for A3 someday, meanwhile you can follow the video shared by @ozankardes, it looks promising. The video is not in English, but I guess you can pickup the important bits easily. Good luck!
I tried the MIUI ROM in the video. it work.
ROM belongs to MI CC9e. Only 2 languages. English & Chinese. You can use morelocale2.
-No Google apps.
-Auto brightness is not stable.
-Fingerprints don't work.
Everything works except what those.
I tried a few more A/B GSI roms (Flyme 8, MIUI 11). None of them worked. Maybe only will work GSI A roms I don't know. We need to do more trials.
Hi everyone! My father has bought a new phone so he will be giving his note 4 to me(Snapdragon). I don't like MIUI and especially when it's on a old phone. In that case AOSP ROMs are best.
Currently, i am using Le2 which is close to specs of redmi note 4 but the ROM development of this phone is bad. I am using lineage os 16.0 on my le 2 and it gives only 3-4 hrs SOT, huge network drops, performance is fine. Before it, I was on LeMax 2 and it was good but battery was not that good. Yeah, I am degrading on hardware but I am excited for redmi. Their ROMs are always good.
Redmi has good development support.
I am looking for a ROM that will be stable. Also should I flash android 10 ROM now or should I wait?
TLR; Which ROM should I flash that will give me best of this phone? Both battery wise and performance wise.
From my point of view, the best is the pixel experience. It has a very good performance, an excellent battery consumption and the rom is very clean, it has no blotware. Try it will not disappoint you.

Thanks for suggestions. Can you please tell me Which one? Pie or android 10? And if you don't mind can you please do a short review of how your experience was. I checked android 10 thread of PE I found out there are features missing like nav bar and gesture bar.

If you want the most stable one then go with pie
If you want a beta one and Android 10 features like gestures then go with 10 - the back gesture doesn't work in all Android Roms till now -
And another thing is , don't go with pixel experience..
Try resurrection remix , it's got the same ui as stock Android and pixel experience and all it's features plus a whooooooooole lot of customization options available , you can tinker around the settings for an hour every day for a month and you wouldn't be done
tldr/ try resurrection remix it's the best
Hey!
Which Custom ROM for Mi note 10 lite (Toco) has the fastest or Stock-like fingerprint recognition and also has face-unlock?
I'm currently on the latest version of DotOs but the fingerprint recognition is really slow and fails most of the time and it also doesnt have unlock so kindly recommend me a ROM which has better fingerprint recognition and also has face unlock.
Thank you very much for your time, have a great day!
Dot os and evaluation x

Did you clean flash?
I clean flashed and didn't have problems like you. After every fingerprint scan i restarted device and added new fingerprint. It recognizes faster than miui like now.
Don't forget to enable night light FOD. You can enable it on settings/customization/FOD Settings

interested in buying the Redmi Note 10. but, then heard bout the issues with the phone with regards to the touch, display etc....
not very sure if I should still be buying this phone, so looking for some input from you guys here who already own it & are here for the ROM's.
will mostly switch to Custom ROM if I buy it.
1) are these issues related to the software or hardware when it comes to the default factory ROM shipped with the phone?
2) are any/all of the issues resolved after installing the available Custom ROM's?
3) is there anything else I should know about or consider before buying this phone?
any input from you guys will be highly appreciated & help decide my phone purchase, ty
I have the redmi note 10, 4 - 128 version running stock MIUI, 12.0.7 , and don't see any problem related to hardware, sometimes the software don't feel smooth but I think is optimization issue. I read about the screen problem in Pro version due to high refresh rate, but is a software issue too...

I think yes, of course it depends of how much money you want spend, in my case the RN 10, is the better option compared with the Samsung and others available in my country.. the screen and dual speaker are the main features for me...
I have NT10 and it have a great hardware and also miui version doen't have any problems with it.
Minor issues on the RN10 such as 10-second AOD timeout but nothing you cannot live with.

The custom roms have a major deal breaking bug with video recording. Even with Gcam the video recording doesn't record sound. Quick restart fixes it but after awhile it goes to same state. Don't know how long will it take for the developers to fix this major bug .
If you don't record much videos, maybe it won't bother you.
Other bugs in custom roms are minor and varying with each rom. But, there aren't anything serious like mentioned above.
If you don't like MIUI then custom rom is the way to go. And, custom rom solves almost all of the shortcomings and annoyances of MIUI. I don't like MIUI so much that even with video bug, I am using Pixel Plus Experience ROM.

There's a Magisk module "MIUI AOD Fix for Mi 10 Lite 5G (monet) (xiaomi.eu) v1.1 by SantiagoG242".
It bypasses this stupid limitation (hope they fix it soon)
I'm planning to buy the Redmi Note 10 (6gb RAM), but i saw that Xiaomi replaced the Gaussian Blur effect on the control center with a gray background on their phones with 4gb ram, so i want to know if the 6 gb version of the Redmi Note 10 has the blur effect.
If not, do you guys think they will add it in a future update (maybe on MIUI 12.5) ?
It's not a reason to not buy device ! anyway, it's software thing which I believe it can be fixed anytime. MIUI 12.5 will fix a lot of miui 12. and will improve the animations and a lot of common issues
this is already done in xiaomi.eu firmware
