twrp issue - Xiaomi Mi A3 Questions & Answers

hi
I have a problem installing twrp,
i performed the unlocking of the bootloader, i perform the write of the stock boot, when i go to write from fastboot to switch to the other slot
the `` --active '' command remains gray, is not white and does not execute it.
i use powershell.

use fastboot set_active a to set active slot first, then flash TWRP
P/s: you should use cmd instead of powershell

[Help] can't install custom recovery on Lenovo Vibe C at all!

Hello
A newbie here ...
My new phone "Lenovo Vibe C (A2020)" does not allow me to install any kind of custom recovery on it, I tried the following methods ...
1- SP Flash Tool: doesn't detect my phone at all, even after installing all drivers (Qualcomm, MTK, Etc ,,, ).
2- Adb and fastboot: whenever I try to flash a recovery, it only shows (waiting for a device) command, even after being detected by "adb devices" command, and showing device ID.
3- flashing apps: I used flashify and thrasher, at the beginning they both show a successful flashing process, up until rebooting to recovery, then only shows "Lenovo" logo for a second right before turning the phone off.
that's what i did, any help would be appreciated.
Note: the phone isn't even indexed in the site's database ... I wonder why!
You should unlock the bootloader first after rooting your device
Hello there. I do hope that you can still boot your device normally. If you can, please do make a backup of your rom.
(a) Download and install the latest driver for your device
(b) Download the latest adb and fastboot tool (I recommend Minimal ADB and Fastboot)
(c) Download the custom recovery image. Save/copy it on the root directory of your ADB and Fastboot folder.
(d) In your device, go to settings > developer > enable oem unlocking and usb debugging (which is I guess you already did).
(e) Now open your terminal/cmd: adb reboot bootloader (this will boot your device in fastboot)
(f) In terminal/cmd: fastboot oem unlock (or fastboot oem unlock-go)
(g) Now flash the custom recovery: fastboot flash recovery "recovery.img"
***I suggest you try first if the custom recovery image works: fastboot boot recovery.img
(h) Reboot into recovery and check if it works.

But how about a person WITHOUT PC? Including me.

My phone is breck (bootloop but can access fastboot)

So I tried to change the ROM of my phone because the vendor's one had malware but it was worse, my phone is stuck at boot screen and can't do anything with it.
First I tried to install a ROM with TWRP, it installed but it was just a black screen, you could only see the battery status.
Then I tried to install the global ROM that is on the official xiaomi site but it didn't work and it locked my phone.
Now I can't use TWRP, please help me. I am desperate.
Miflash isn't detecting the phone, but the PC does cause it listed under Android Phone->Android ADB Interface on device manager.

Once you rebooted it into download mode, use this:

My PC is no longer detecting the phone, only detects Qualcomm 9008
Ok, it is working till the miflash step it says "receiving hello packet" in red
You will need to flash a ROM using fastboot.
First install fastboot on your pc: http://www.theandroidsoul.com/how-to...t-setup-75174/
Second Download a flashable Rom: http://en.miui.com/a-234.html (make sure to choose the right one)
Unzip the rom and navigate to the 'images' folder
Put the phone into Fastboot mode (volume down and power button together until fastboot appears)
Connect the phone to pc with USB
Shift Right click on a blank space in the folder and choose 'open command window here'
run the following commands. one at a time
fastboot devices
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash cache cache.img
fastboot flash userdata userdata.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot reboot

Hello guys, i have a redmi 3s china version, so i try to find global version, i installed all driver and try to use with miflash that:
land_global_images_V7.5.9.0.MALMIDE_20160805.0000.29_6.0_global_470b843c10.tgz
(if i use xiaomiflash i get error) meanwhile with miflash i see device and i flash it but something wrong , i restart the phone i stuck on the logo MI
I try also to download land_global_images_V7.5.4.0.MALMIDE_20160523.0000.23_6.0_global_dc5d804271.tar
seems is the right firmware
So i try again to flash in fastboot mode with miflash but i get error like i have no permission.
So i extract the whole firmware on a dir where there is ADB files , same problem...the device is locked
I try online the procedure with sms to unlock the bootloader ( i think is the only way, right?) or there are any other solution?
Maybe there is a stock rom to replace the original rom and put the global rom in another way?
Thanks in advanced
Bye

After you run 'fastboot devices' is anything listed? Usually a string of numbers. If not then the computer isn't seeing your device.
Try rebooting the computer, and trying different USB leads and ports if possible and try again.
Using this method you don't have to use MiFlash, and is for when MiFlash doesn't work.
Once your phone is working again you can try again to install another ROM using traditional methods.

Oneplus X brick

Hello guys,
i have a bricked rooted oneplus x
I had issues with the rooted rom so i flashed the newest stock rom via twrp
The phone boots up and showed the usual otimizing apps message. After the proccess is done it just the usual "let me helpt set up your phone page" and then restarts
I cant acces twrp anymore and when i try to acces the stock recovery it just shows a oneplus logo
I do have access to fastboot though (i hope that leaves some hope)
I have tried the MegaUnbrickGuide here in the forum but i wasn't able to install the drivers i need for that method
One more thing whenever i try
Code:
fastboot boot recovery.img
i get the "remote dtb not found" message
Does that have to do with developer options not being unlocked?
Any ideas on how to just get some form of working os installed on the device
(i dont care wheter rooted or not at this point have been trying stuff for hours now)
regards
Jan
First download Minimal ADB and Fastboot and install it.
Go into fastboot mode.
1. Re-unlock your bootloader using the command - fastboot oem unlock
2. After doing that, download the latest version of TWRP(which at the time of writing this is 3.1.0) and rename it to 'recovery.img'
3. Open a command window in the place you have downloaded the recovery by pressing the shift key and right clicking and then choosing the option Open Command WIndow Here... Flash the recovery using the command fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
4. Boot into it using the command fastboot boot recovery.img
5. If it still gives 'remote dtb not found' then follow this guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-x/help/opx-remote-dtb-solution-t3480274
6. If it boots into recovery, your phone is now fine and go ahead and flash whatever ROM you want.
Cheers!

How to install GSI on OnePlus Nord N100

Instructions for installing GSI firmware based on Android 10/11 for OnePlus Nord N100.
1. We flash the stock firmware of OxygenOS 10.5.5 through the EDL mode using MSMDownload.
2. After launching the newly installed system, go to Settings-About the phone, click on the Build Number several times until it is indicated that you have become a Developer.
Go to the System section, the item For Developers, activate the Factory Unlock slider and Reboot Options, and also activate USB Debugging.
3. Restart the smartphone in Fastboot by holding down the power button and selecting the Loader item. We connect it to the PC. On a PC, open the command line from the folder with adb tools and firmware in .img format. Enter the command: fastboot flashing unlock_critical (all data will be deleted). We wait for the end of the procedure, reboots again in Fastboot, and enter the following command: fastboot -w. Next, the command: fastboot reboot fastboot. The smartphone will reboot into Fastbootd mode, in which we will perform all further actions.
4. Enter the command: fastboot erase system. We remember which partition was cleared, system_a or system_b (this is important!).
The next command we need to execute is: fastboot resize-logical-partition product (_a or _b depends on which system partition was cleared) 709344768.
Next: fastboot resize-logical-partition system (the same as with product) 2600000000.
Next, we flash the system itself. Command: fastboot --disable-verity --disable-verification flash system (depending on which partition was erased, _a or _b, enter the one) "file path".
5. After the firmware is finished, enter the command: fastboot reboot. The smartphone will boot into the system.
i tried booting into fastbootd mode which it does on the phone but on cmd its stuck saying waiting for device

Question Stuck on System Recovery, Redmi note 10, Orange fox custom recovery

Hi
I have a Redmi note 10, i unlocked the bootloader and tried to install the custom recovery Orange fox, i posted this question on the main Orange fox trhead but as i read its no longer being mantained, so i made a separate thread.
what i did is follow a tutorial in which i was instructed to dowload bot the Adb exe, and using the commands to flash the recovery img.
what i did step by step is the following:
1. Unlock bootloader
2. Start fast boot and connect my device to my PC using the original usb cable
3. Download Platform tools and Orange fox recovery
4. Copy the recovery image into the Platform tools folder
5. Type CMD to start the commands screen
6. Used the "fastboot devices" command to find my connected device
7. my device is a A/B type of device, so i typed the following command "fastboot flash boot_b recovery.img"
8. then i typed the command "fastboot reboot recovery"
up until this point it was working, then i was supposed to add the zip file into my phone so i could install it using orange fox
9. i typed "adb push "orange fox file location"/sdcard" and got the following string as an answer: adb.exe: push requires <source> and <destination> arguments
no matter how i tried to string the command i always got back this answer so i tried to manually move the zip file into the Fox folder and it allowed me to install it.
the problem is that im now stuck on recovery mode, cant leave that screen, cant even turn off my phone, i tried rebooting to fastboot, to recovery again, to system and it will always end on the recovery screen, attempted doing a factory reset but im still stuck on the recovery loop, i attempted to flash an stock rom but i was unable to do it, did i brick my phone? is there some way to solve it? would flashing a different custom recovery solve my issue?
Please any help would be appreciated.
if its of any help my device is a redmi note 10, MIUI was 12.5.5.0, global mojito, i ussed the latest version of orange fox when i attempted this
