Stock ROMs on SM-G9650 - Samsung Galaxy S9+ Questions & Answers

Hi. A noob question. Recently I bought a SM-G9650 (Snapdragon). The "unlock OEM" option exists in the developer section. I´ll be able to flash custom roms or should I go for the Exynos version?

Well, while Snapdragon can be considered superior to Exynos in some areas, when it comes to custom stuff it's kind of better to have Exynos. Most devs that are going to develop for S9+ are choosing the Exynos variant over Snapdragon

Thanks. Now I have to see if I can get some Exynos here. Looks like Samsung made all the latinoamerican s9+ Snapdragon based

[Q] Different Processors ? Different ROMS ? Developer Support ?

Hi,
The news is out that most probably, Samsung Galaxy S IV coming with two SoC variants, Snapdragon 600 and Exynos 5.
My question is that suppose at some places Snapdragon 600 ( i.e for LTE ) is launched and at some Exynos 5 Octa, does it divide the developer community as then they have to build 2 ROMs for their Custom ROMs ?
Will the same ROM run on both variants or is it otherwise ? How tricky it is to run the same build on both ?
Thanks
Shubham
They will need to be built for each chip. They are not cross compatible. As for the developers. Many have already stated they will not get any Samsung device with the exynos chip. So you will see more go for the qualcom device.

Wondering if the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 will get the Cyanogenmod 13?

Just as the title says . I dont mind the waiting to be honest but will it happen? I mean they have the qualcom variant so I hope they will bring out one for our note 3
I am there with you brother !
The phone is pretty awesome and I CM wil be available soon . Ever thought about making the ROM yourself?
count me in. It would be just super great to have CM on the Redmi Note 3!!!
Count me in on wishing this was available....

Any version of Cyanogenmod for the Redmi Note 3 would be great. Very disappointed in this phone. The reviews were - are - very complimentary, the hardware specs are really good, but for beyond-China buyers the software problems are a deal-breaker. The reviews didn't mention the threat of a locked bootloader...

I've applied for bootloader unlock, but no word back from Xiaomi. Wish now I'd paid extra $100 for a ZUK Z1, Cyanogenmod out of the box.
There are multiple Custom Roms for the Redmi Note 3 available in the official MIUI forum.
All 5.1.1 Custom Roms:
CM 12.1:http://en.miui.com/thread-210418-1-1.html
MoKee: http://en.miui.com/thread-215319-1-1.html
BlissPop: http://en.miui.com/thread-214718-1-1.html
PAC-Man:http://en.miui.com/thread-214488-1-1.html
Resurrection Remix: http://en.miui.com/thread-215699-1-1.html
Flyme OS:http://en.miui.com/thread-213952-1-1.html
All 5.0.2 Custom Roms:
AOSP:http://en.miui.com/thread-210071-1-1.html
SphinX (Based on stock):http://en.miui.com/thread-207019-1-1.html
DEV Global Rom (Based on stock):http://en.miui.com/thread-214146-1-1.html
But because all the non Stock Roms are based on Redmi Note 2 Roms, the fingerprint sensor isn't working and 4G is only working on SIM slot 1. On SIM slot 2 only 2G is working.
With the Redmi Note 3 Snapdragon 650 model being available, im guessing getting CM13 running onto that will be a easier task?
What rom can supporting all sensor for Redmi Note 2?

Runnig any version of cyanogenmod will be a easier task, because Snapdragon processors are officially supported by the cyanogen team and MediaTek processors are not.

That is not necessarily true. Android One devices are supported - they are mediatek but their source code is released as they are google supported. So its more to do with source code than anything else.

Yeah you're right but I think in this case it will be a easier task because as I know MediaTek didn't published the kernel source code for the normal Redmi Note 3 (not sure). So creating/porting cm for Redmi Note 3 Pro will be easier because Qualcom publishes many of their kernel source codes.

Question Regarding NOTE 3

How to define the mediatek version and qualcomm version ?? be specific
Planned to buy the Qualcomm one
Is their any screen protected their?
Where is the kernel source link of qualcomm version ?
1. What do you mean by "define"
2. ????

Relevant part is the processor.
The Redmi Note 3 aka Mediatek aka Hennessy version features a Mediatek MT6795 Helio X10.
The Redmi Note 3 Pro aka Qualcomm aka SnapDragon aka Kenzo version features a Qualcomm MSM8956 Snapdragon 650.
There's no special gadgets like a case or screen protector coming with the Note 3.
On a side note: Your title is really bad for search engines, since it's way too broad. Try to think of something better next time, to help others, who have the same questions, find your thread. e.g. "[Q] Differences in versions, delivery content & Kernel source"

Note 3 B28 700mhz modem custom rom problem?

Hello Everyone.
I just purchased a "Taiwan" Redmi Note 3 Pro (Hexa Snapdragon 3GB Ram 32GB Rom model).
The new Taiwan released version supports Band28, 700mhz which we here in Australia also use.
First thing I'll be doing, will be unlocking and installing CM for this device.
It only just occurred to me; will I need a different baseband\modem zip?
Will the official CM nightly work fine?
Will there be something I can do to help the community if we need some certain file or zip for this B28 frequency?
Happy to help in any way I can, and thanks for being such a great community
