How to transfer installed applications to SD card from phone memory - Sony Xperia XZ1 Questions & Answers

hi, it's not necessary to unlock bootloader, there is a possibility to do this via adb.
I'm on a NTT DoCoMo XZ1c (SO-02K) on 47.2, using a 128GB A2 class card with half alotted to normal sd card and other half for apps, worked fine for the past week.
I'll go over the brief steps, don't quite know if anyone here have written a more comprehensive guide on this.
This is not guaranteed to succeed on any system, especially if you have a lot of installed apps already. tThe sd card will be WIPED and the phone might need to be flashed in the end, so do back up everything before proceeding.
Please note that the Xperia Camera will refuse to save to internal storage after this process, so you must reserve enough space for sdcard so that your camera will function normally. See step 2 down below for more details.
Some apps will try to launch the stock camera to shoot and save to their directory, such as WeChat when pressing and holding the album button; this function will no longer work as the limited function stock camera will try and then fail to save to internal storage.
Step 1 | With adb enabled, in shell type sm list-disks this should return two integers like 179,0
Step 2 | then type sm partition disk:179,0 mixed 50 where the 179,0 you'll replace with your result disk code you got from the first step and the 50 is the percentage space you'd want to save as normal sdcard.
This means if you use mixed 90, then 10% will be space that you can read with a computer when you plug the sd card into a card reader, and that 10% space will be home to your photos and videos taken with stock camera, so you might want to reserve a bit more. the 90% rest, in this case, will be internal storage, and you should be able to move a majority of apps there without much problem; although some apps refuse to function when moved to the sdcard. If you unplug the card and then boot up the phone, I don't know what'll happen to the apps stored on the card.
Unplug the phone only after shell returns with a new command line and you can type stuff into it.
Step 3 | In developer settings, scroll to bottom and turn on force allow apps on external, then reboot. Then you should be able to change app storage location in the app details page.
If you decide to try this, I wonder if it worked for you, and please anyone correct me if something is wrong

Well, this does enable Change button, but it doesn't work anyway. When moving an app to the adopted SD, it fails eventually with the "Insufficient memory" message. Which is nonsense, obviously. When moving from the Settings -> Storage page, the space available on SD decreases, and remains so, but space in internal storage remains the same. I suspect there's some kind of permissions problem, so data could be read and copied but not erased on internal location.
