Hello everyone...
... I bought this tablet at Amazon quite cheaply some time ago. I wanted to use this with the DJI Fly app. That works wonderfully too. Only sometimes it jerks. Now I need Root to overclock the tablet a bit. I have already tried the most common root programs, but they don't even begin to work. The most promising was Magisk. But unfortunately I get the error message "E: failed to unmount / mnt / external_sd". What is the problem?. Is there any possibility of rooting this tablet or are there tablets of the same construction? ... it would be nice if someone could help me ... Greetings.

Have a ton of these tablets at work because we buy amazon return pallets. Took a look at rooting one, and just using one in general.... If you still can, return it and just buy a name brand tablet like a samsung from fb marketplace/craigslist or eBay. You'll be way better off, both because the hardware is better and more community support. If you happen to be stuck with it, well, you don't root via recovery. You need to unlock the bootloader, find a way to get the boot.img, patch it with magisk manager then flash the patched boot with fastboot and then you're rooted.
If I can, quote this post to remind me and I'll give it a shot

Hi Guys and thanks for you attention.
I will try to make this as simple as possible. The phone of my friend was soft bricked
he was on 2.3 and tried to install a firmware that was not for that phone and he did not manage to install it
when he tried latter the motorola thinghy told him to Update the firmware and transform his 2.3 to a 4.04
HOWEVER his phone was not booting normally he would need to enter to bootloader and select NORMAL POWER UP
tried to find out the origin of the phone and was difficult to understand his firmware is somenthing like
672.180.41.xt910.02.en.DE
so i followed the guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1883640
and everything when fine until i tried to install the EU OTA
obviously this is not a EU phone....
is it german for the DE at the end?
some guy in another forum is mentioning that maybe this is the razr developer edition (????)
at any rate what i need to do is to install the original OTA but i have no idea which oe can be ..
funny enough if the phone is powered off would automaticly turn on and boot and stay in motorola logo.
any help would be very much appreciated

hello everybody.
Here is the story, a friend of mine tried to install a custom rom on its brand new galaxy s3 and messed all things up. He came to me and we installed back an original rom, but we got this:

}
for what I understand, he isn't able to make the modem work, and the camera maybe. He told me he have done "something" to the efs partition, so I thought he messed up that. But esf files are all there and it seems the phone still have a valid imei (353*********151).
We were unable to recover it so we restored everything, resetted the counter, and bring it to assistance for warranty. They told us that there is a crack in the main board and they have to change it
They also said that there is a problem with the screen and it has to be changed. But it seems fine to us!
They also told us that those operations are not covered by warranty, and we have to pay 270 euros!!
Now we are looking for an alternative solution. It sound strange to me that is a hardware problem, because it happened when my friend started to play with the OS. Any suggestion? anything we can try before changing the mainboard?
any help will be appreciated!!
this is factory mode, use search

Well I wish this was the case for you but it's not... If it was a PC it would be. But Android phones use like solid state chips called EMMC which stands for "Embedded Multi-Media Card" This chip is partitioned with the Phone's OS, Bootloader, Recovery, Internal Storage ((Where Your Documents Go)). And etc. So if you take that chip out and solder it to the other phone it would still be stuck in boot loop. You may need to consider Jtaging your device's flash memory if possible. Look up how to Jtag a hardbricked S3 and see what you can find. If that don't work than I don't know what to do to be honest. If this was helpful at all please hit the thanks button below. Wish you the best.
Here's a picture of the EMMC Chip for your device.

Hey all,
Tried installing CyanogenMod 12 on my Sero 7 Pro while following this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2297246 for files.
I successfully flashed Clockwork mod and had my device rooted. After following the steps in this guide here http://www.androidbeat.com/2015/01/how-to-install-cyanogenmod-cm12-android-device/ for installation, I then tried to install CyanogenMod. Upon doing so, I get hung up on this screen

and eventually I receive this message
I'm not able to reboot at all into android as I pretty much have no OS at this point in time. I tried sideloading the .zip on here and I get the same message. I also tried various other ROMs and received the same error message. Pretty sure I messed something up here... :crying: Anyway, if you guys can help me fix this issue, I would really appreciate it. Sorry for the noob question!
Thanks!
Well, seems like I must have installed an old version of CWM or something. Not sure. I decided to try flashing TWRP which worked. I tried again using this loader, and, for some strange reason, it hung up on the same screen. I decided to leave it and walk away just in case. After a few minutes I came back and it successfully installed! :good:
Running CM12 build by Meticulus! (Thanks!)
(Can't post pictures yet since I can't do outside links until 10 posts, but take my word for it! worked!)
Hello ,
After following a rooting tutorial i got stuck at the point i had to update the tablet via the internal storage. I get an error message "Status7- Installation aborded on the update" , ive tried updating with the adb sideloading option but i got the same error. Ive read somewhere that for this device updating would only work id the update.zip is in the internal storage which is impossible now as my tablet wont get past the Androidsystem recovery screen

I hope that link works. I found that while browsing for HP roms. There's plenty of info. Hope it helps.
I don't have a HP tablet, but I have a nvidia shield, and I thought I bricked it so I feel your pain.
