Turn off Screen while mirroring via HDMI - Samsung Galaxy S9+ Questions & Answers

Hello,
I couldn't find answer anywhere for this so I hope someone could clarify this.
I've connected the phone through usb-c to HDMI to Monitor and set to mirror the screen but on the phone it doesn't turn off or dim itself so its constantly lit, is there any way to turn off screen while mirroring using cable?
Thanks in advance.

[Q] Need a way to automatically lock or turn off phone

I'm looking for a possible app that can automatically lock the phone regardless of what it is doing. I use the MHL to HDMI cable to output to my tv when I'm in bed and I like to watch shows to put me to sleep.
The thing is when the cable is plugged in, the phone's screen never turns off because it would turn off the tv display as well. The display just goes dim when it's idle. I can manually lock it and it will shut off, but I would like something that can send a lock command or a power off command after a certain amount of time, sorta like a sleep mode.
I don't like having my phone screen's stay on until morning even though it's staying fully charged. It's usually pretty warm when I wake up. Is there any way this can be done?
Maybe it could be done with tasker? https://market.android.com/details?id=net.dinglisch.android.taskerm&feature=search_result
I gave it a try and it seems like a really nice app, but I couldn't find a way to command it to lock or turn off the phone. There were 2 options I saw called "lock" and "system lock" and I tried both but nothing happened when the specified event occurred.
I'm tempted to try the HDMI on my Galaxy Tab 10.1, but I'm thinking it would remain on as well if plugged in. Thanks for the suggestion though.

[WEBTOP] HD Dock Resolution

Hi all,
Not sure what I might have done to mess this up but for some reason my HD dock can't detect the proper resolution for my monitor (I have the monitor connected via a DVI to HDMI adapter). It used to work but for some reason has stopped functioning. Now the usual Motorola screen saver (red circle popping around) is distorted and only shows up on 3/4 of the screen. If I try to activate webtop, it goes through the usual loading but the monitor goes black and webtop appears to have loaded (Usual webtop splash screen on the phone appears) but I can't see anything on the screen.
The odd thing is if I take the dock and plug it directly into my TV (no adapter) everything runs fine. So it leads me to think its an issue about the auto detect...
Is there any way to reset this or manually change the resolution to fix this?

Disable phone display mhl ??

My new mhl adaptor came today and works great.
However during movie playback the phone screen stays on.
Anyway to disable this screen and leave tv screen on? Same question during game playing over mhl. Can we disable phone display and lleave tv display only???
Thank you.

Anyone? Is this even possible? Maybe as a proximity sensor hack so turning over phone during media play turns screen off?

[Q] MHL HDMI output displays sideways, flickers, sometimes snows

Hi all,
I'm hoping someone can help me solve my problem. The issue is that when I plug my M HL cable into my HDTV the image comes out sideways, flickers, and looks terrible with lots of snow. The interesting thing is that this didn't happen to me on a stock rom. But now I'm running CM 10 dgungdum style and the problem has occurred. A couple of details: it doesn't say HDMI at the top when I plug it in ( Though it used to When it worked before) Also it seems to be something to do with CM 10 itself because if I reboot the phone with the MHL cable plugged in it starts with the normal display and the CM logo is not sideways but once the operating system starts the lock screen appears and immediately flips sideways on my phone and also on my TV. So I think the ROM has some kind of setting that auto flips the display when the MHL is plugged in but the problem is that I can't find an option to reverse this default. Any help is greatly appreciated.

HDMI is out on cm10 ROMs. That's why you are getting those weird screen displays.

Question Stay Awake option within Developer Options does not work

Hi All,
I am running the latest Android 12 OS on my Samsung phone. My goal is to make the screen stay awake any time I have the phone connected to a charger using a USB-C cable. In short, I want to prevent the LOCK screen from activating or the screen from slowly dimming down to black only when the phone is connected to a USB cable for charging.
So I set the "Stay awake" option under the "Developer options" to see if this would keep the screen on any time it is plugged into the USB cable.
After doing this the screen continues to switch to LOCK screen mode or slowly dim down to black even though it is plugged into the USB cable. So what is the correct way to make this work? Do I need to install a third party app to make this behavior happen?
Any tips welcome.
