Did anyone tried overclocking A20F5 /DS
without installing custom kernel... and does it work..

Try this
Use Hktweaks to set minimums to highest stable values and leave it running in the background.

You can overclock the phone by flashing a custom kernel, and there is underclocking features in most kernels also so you should try flashing a kernel to get thoose features.

My request is not overclocking or underclocking. It is undervolting. I request to lower the voltage values at same clock speed.
bump..
Hi guys. I have installed on my sgs2 the ressurection remix rom. It is fantastic as others roms but all this roms has a boring issue(if we can call it issue) when the screen is black and i unlook it, it gets up usually after 5 second or more. How can i increase the reaction. I searched to change something in Stweaks but i'm not expert. Can you help me? Thank you.
Hi,
did you flash the roms correctly with a full wipe? On all roms based 4.2 and 4.3 i didnt have this kind of problem.
Did you restore some apps with titanium backup, maybe there´s a problem.

Yes i restored my app using another app but i don't think it can be a problem. I think it is related to the cpu speed when the screen if .
Are you using setcpu or similar apps to change the CPU frequency? Cause different governors during screen on and screen off may create such problems.

If you're using Stweaks (you mentioned that above) then there's no need whatsoever for SetCPU. In fact, the settings in Stweaks and in SetCPU may be clashing with each other. I'd say to get rid of SetCPU and use Stweaks as the kernel dev (I assume dorimanx) intended.

Is there a kernel for OC on stock rom ?
Or at least without the OC, but with tweaks.

This should be in the Q & A section
I don't think that too many people are worried about OC the device as it is quire fast. One of krabappel's kernel has OC abilities I think, but not sure if it will boot a stock rom...
EDIT:
It is only for custom 4.4 roms

I've always been keen to OC' my devices. However like Blue said, I've never felt the need to clock the Ultra higher. You could try apps from the playstore that modify the kernel at a source level. ummm I think tegrak does that?

hmmm... good point. In theory it should stuff up a locked bootLoader... Never tried it on a Sony device.

Well, I want to OC mine for sure..you know when you OC once, there is no turning back no need for a reason..you just gotta do it
BTW Tegrak does not work with our device...at least not with the sony stock kernels.

Exactly ، Tegrak does not work with stock kernel.
i wonder why there is no custom kernel for stock rom !!!
what will happen if i give max nd min both frequency to 1.6ghz by overclocking on zd kernel??
Maybe the ans is it will work like 1.6 ghz.
But when i do it any kernel controler as zd,thunderzap, trickstar, franco my phone just work on 1ghz only nd in deep sleep when in no use.
Some1 help me out please?
how to get the best outta it??
I am using this kernel but I can't enable swap.

But in the thread it says its for cm11...and im on stock.
Also i wanna share something:
I managed to clock the kernel on 1600mhz....
But then when i checked states..all the time kernel remained on 1000mhz. see attachment. Also the cpu always showed offline...and that's funny as our phone got only 1 core and if that too becomes offline...how the hell will then our phone be working?
Then i reverted back to stock kernel....and there too cpu0 was seen offline....is that even possible?
Hope this helps you in figuring out the problem.:fingers-crossed:

r10 is for all roms
flash it using a cwm recovery

that's a broken cpu_freq driver.
Working one is here
In the r10 thread i saw something about enabling/disabling camera.....could you explain it please..?

That kernel didn't boot my device....
although there was boot sound but there wasn't any boot animation.....just a black screen....and It just stuck in that black screen.....
I've moved on to cm11 ....irritated by stock.....
thanks for your suggestions anyway

don't flash this kernel on older firmwares
Well, me, as well as other people, don't need full speed of our cores and we could gain some hours by underclocking both GPU and CPU, but, I don't know why, underclocking apps doesn't work.
@cile381 used to maintain an underclockable (by aroma installation) kernel, but only for CPU, and I'm wondering if someone could build (or direct us to a guide to how to build) a kernel, for example:
450MHZ max GPU
1440MHz BIG CPU
1248MHZ LITTLE CPU
I would like to build one but I have no idea where to find or modify these values (I could learn how to build a kernel but not how to underclock).
I think you can do that by apps like Kernel Auditor

this is the first time ive seen this all othe kernels are all stock with som optimizations and user could overclock as he pleases... its more convinient to have it that way..whoevers wants more performance overclock. but leave all setting stock..:good:

Try choosing a frec below the max in any kernel controlling app, then see the usage of the different freqs, it still gies up to the max, somehow the kernel ignores and overwrites whatwe choose withthe apps... dont know why or how

I think that issue actually has to do with certain thermal controls in the kernel. Might I ask which kernel/rom you're using? I actually have my kernel underclocked manually and don't have such an issue right now, and I've tried both llamasweet kernel with the Resurrection Remix and CM13 roms and Imperium kernel with Genesis and vanilla stock roms.

stock 5.1 kernel :/
CM based roms have other sources, something is hardcoded in stock kernels... the kernel rewrites every modification you do on /sys so you cant change max freq ever
guys what are the stock settings of CPU and GPU.?
