Huawei Music vs YouTube Music - Huawei Developers

Huawei Music vs YouTube Music
Smartphones are used for music playback, more than any other type of device. There are plenty of different types of apps and services that offer music subscriptions, along with a great music player to listen to all of your music. Phone with GMS support will be able to use Google's YouTube Music service, which offers all of the latest music features. Anyone with an HMS phone will have access to Huawei Music, which is designed to compete with other music services. We will go over some of the different features that these apps have to offer.
YouTube Music
Your Google account can be used to easily set up your YouTube music as a media player, or a music subscription service. Their subscription service is comparable to similar products when it comes to price. YouTube Music is available on Desktop and Mobile, so your music is not restricted to your phone.
The app is particularly good at finding new music for you to listen to. Google is obviously one of the best at this type of feature, due to the amount of data they are able to collect from all of their products.
Other features include:
$9.99 Monthly Subscription Price
Google Assistant Integration
Offline Playback
Captions
1 Month Free Trial
The user interface is a bit frustrating with YouTube Music. The settings menu is not always easy to find, and the look and feel of the app is kind of boring. Overall it will get the job done, but it's not one of the better music apps available.
Huawei Music
Huawei Music is a fully-fledged music service and media player. You can subscribe to an ad-free premium music catalog and enjoy all of your favorite music. Non-subscribers can still enjoy the radio features, which you can browse by category.
The music subscription service is fairly simple to understand. You'll have the same level of access as any other competing service. You can stream or download the songs you like. You can choose the quality of playback, to accommodate your data usage. Huawei Music even has a "Super Quality" option for playback, which can play your music at 640kbps. This is good for people with high-end headphones who want to get the most out of their music.

The app offers a lot of fun features like party mode, which lets you play music through multiple Huawei phones. This is a great solution for sharing your songs with your friends. you just connect your phones, and your music will play on every connected device. They also include a feature called Running Music, which will read your heart rate and find songs that match your heart's BPM. Anyone who loves to workout is going to enjoy this feature a lot, as it can enhance your workout session.

Huawei Music is a great music service with a very good app to go along with it. Hopefully, we will be able to see this expand to desktop users in the future.

When we can expect for desktop users ??

Your favorite music player app for X10 Mini/Pro

I used to search high and low for music player appz for the X10 Mini.
Besides the Spotify player/client for streamed music from that paysite (I have a premium account) I use the PowerAMP to play my own music (mp3s ripped from my CDs thats legal in Sweden as long as I just makes copies for myself) ,
PowerAMP is good and has a lot of bling-bling even for a pay app. Had some issues with the PowerAMP that it started to play tunes every now and then.
Like plugging in or out the 3,5 jack (at home) or connected the Samsung SBH650 bluetooth headset.
As the X10 Mini has a great multitasking capability that meant that PowerAMP played music when I tried to listening to music from Spotify.
Since the latest SE update the PowerAMP seems to stay shut when not actuallu tapping it's play button
Does someone out there found players, that have become a favourite?
PS. Love to use the Spotify music streaming and Google Maps and GPS simultaneous when driving. As long as there are 3G cover maps, GPS-positions as well as the music will work without glitches from this little magic box, we call X10 Mini. Don't know about the Pro, never had one
My favourite is WinAmp. Just really handy to use. Although before this I used TuneWiki - it has an awesome lyrics function.
I find the full version of Meridian the best.. even has an audiobook tab.. and video etc..

Funny guy huh?
but seriously.. its a great app, I recommend checking it out (even the free version is pretty good)
Mortplayer is the best. At least in my eyes.
You can play all files in one folder, not just from playlists, or song / artist / album.
Cubed. The coolest player ever. And it´s free.
MortPlayer
MortPlayer
Music PlayerPro. Advanced version of standard android player.
I use PowerAMP
Though the letters are too small,it can play any format of audio including FLAC and also has an equalizer....
So its the bets in my eyes....
doubleTwist & Btunes
doubleTwist
Btunes
Best for me..
i prefer winamp, but i didn't hear much music via my mini pro, ipod in car-use
PowerAmp.. the best one.
I tried all cited players, and all uses more battery that original. So I decided keep stock player mod version, found here on forum. Its usefull; it doesnt have to many resources but I can play for hours without drain my battery.
I listen thru the default stock player but then I found this PowerAmp and decided to test it. It simply blow me away... Great player with music tag aditor, album art auto download and those equalisers are awesome...
Features wise; Poweramp.
I try Cubed because it's free and I found it very good, widget included and nice user interface (but a little difficult at first look) !

Ok thanks i downloaded the right one already. Also ill be testing with stock rom and kernel 4.2.2 with root but no actual changes to system so it will be stock experience.
So far from home, on my Wi-Fi, its great! I used to use other apps like Splashtop 2 and the like, but I prefer to have it streamed to my tablet, rather than just mirroring my PC. I'm going into work overnight, so at that point I'll get to try it out with 3G/4G.
How are you going to try 3g on the nexus 10? Its only WiFi. Did you mean on your phone? And I can confirm that its been working great so far but I haven't tested very much yet.

He can plug a 3g dongle and use it on the tablet... :silly:
Yes, I meant tethering my tablet to my Nexus 4.
So over mobile data, it runs great, and as I mentioned before, it also runs well over Wi-Fi. When playing a song, I like how it runs in the background too!
The UI looks neat, and there's also a little sync functionality like DropBox.
Only irk for me is that occasionally when I seek, the video would freeze on one frame, but picking an earlier or later spot would set it right.
Also, with apps like Splashtop, I would get some serious performance decrease on my PC, but with Tonido, I can play BF3 on my PC and watch Married With Children on my tablet!
Overall I'm really loving this app!

[APP] GMusicFS - virtual drive for your Google Play Music library

***NOTE***: I take absolutely no credit for developing this app or supporting it. Flash at your own risk. Developer's thread here. Stop by and thank him if you use and like the app.
That being taken care of, most of you on this board know how much I love music. This app allows all your music stored on Google Music to be mounted on a virtual hard drive on your internal sdcard. This allows a number of popular players to play all your music stored in the cloud as if its on your internal memory. This save precious internal memory space for movies, pictures, etc.
Besides freeing up storage space, another added bonus for Viper4Android users is that V4A processes 100% of the time when streaming with GMusicFS. As many have posted, V4A intermittently and randomly stops processing tracks when streaming with Google Play Music. Tricked into thinking all the music is on the internal sdcard, V4A works flawlessly. No more spikes in volume/sound quality! :good:
While you'll be fooling the hardware as to where things are stored, you will NOT be fooling Verizon data usage tracking nor your battery into providing enough juice to play nonstop. You're still streaming the music from Google, you're just using a different player. So if you have data plan or battery concerns, this app is not your solution. I've found the battery drain to be in between Pandora and iHeartRadio.
Installation is very straightforward with one exception. You must grant TWO superuser permissions. The first is to create the virtual hard drive itself (the metadata) and the second is for adb shell to actually mount the drive. A visual walkthrough:
When you first install the app, it immediately asks for superuser permission. Grant it and then log onto your Google Play account (mine is blacked out in these screenies). It will automatically start syncing your music's metadata to your internal sdcard. This will fail. Expect it to fail and do not close the app:
{

}
This is due to the shortcuts to all the cloud music being created, but the virtual hard drive is not mounted yet. It's funny to see this transition period when you look in settings\storage. Notice my 16GB internal sdcard has 71.98GB of miscellaneous files :silly:
After you get the failed to mount message, keep the app open. Wait for another superuser request from ADB shell and grant it:
Once this is properly done, the virtual drive is mounted and it will automatically scan the metadata. Once it completes, you can use any media player to access your new virtual library of music. Even though it seems logical to point the player to the metadata folder, you must point your player to the blank /gmusicfs folder:
I have Google Play's All Access feature and while the free version of the app allows you to play 5 All Access tracks per launch, for $2.49 it a no-brainer to get the unlocker for this app and have access to your entire library without restrictions. As you can see here, I'm playing Eminem's new single "Bezerk" released only days ago. You can also see I now have full access to my 12,049 songs stored on Google's servers in PowerAmp
I want to emphasize one last time that the last two screens show the music is streaming. This WILL suck up your data plan and it will suck up your battery because the music is streaming and it prevents your phone from properly sleeping:
When it's all said and done, for me, this is an easy choice to install. I have more room on internal memory because I don't have to store music on it. I also get the assurance that Viper4Android will work consistently 100% of the time and I'm getting amazing sound from my phone.
Grab the app from here and don't forget to stop by @bubbleguuum's thread and thank him for a great app!

No, this caches it's own tracks seperate from play music. You can use any music player, even Play Music to play the tracks, but some of the players have different problems. Player Pro for instance has to be open first before you start GmusicFS, or it won't see the drive. I also noticed, it took 10 minutes or so for Player Pro to see everything. As far as caching, it can only cache entire albums, and all that can be done from the notification window.
I do like what the app does, because I hate Google's player, but I have not been using it lately, just because I hate having a process to do every time I reboot my phone.

I've never used Player Pro and I see your comment about having to start the player first, but there's an option within GMusicFS mount the drive on reboot. Perhaps this will help you?

No, that won't work. The databases created by this app are just pointers to the actual files on the Google servers. They still stream from there. This app just allows you to use other players besides Play Music to do so.
