[Q] GALAXY S3 JB 4.1.2 (Noob)

Hey... guys !
So i recently switched from ios to Android ...
i want to root my galaxy s3 but before that i want to make a complete backup of my phone... how do i do that?
and secondly i downloaded the Update kit 6.0 .. for rooting but there is no option given for 4.1.2! So please help me
Rooting is like gaining administrator rights on your phone. Custom ROMs are modified OS images. And yes, unlike iDevices, you can revert back to any firmware you want. It's not risky if you know what you're doing. Rooting can help you backup your ROM, overclock your phone, restore from an old backup, and can help you modify almost everything in your phone. It's really not that hard.

You don't need to Backup your device just for Rooting, but anyway you can make a nandriod backup from a custom recovery such as CWM or using the toolkit.
Install drivers automatically
Backup/ Restore a single package or all apps, user data and Internal Storage
Backup your /data/media (virtual SD Card) to your PC for a Full Safe backup of data
Perform a FULL NANDROID Backup of your system via adb and save in Custom Recovery format on your PC
Pull /data and /system folders, compress to a .tar file and save to your PC
Backup/ Restore your /efs partition
Dump selected phone partitions, compress to .zip file with MD5
Install BusyBox binary
Root any public build (different options available) (Tutorial to Root Galaxy SIII)
Flash Stock Recovery or CWM Recovery (for flashing custom ROMs)
Install a single apk or multiple apk’s to your phone
Push Files from your PC to your phone
Set file permissions
Dump BugReport, LogCat buffer to PC
Reboot phone options in adb mode
Change background colors, text colors etc.

Use cf root. It's easier, then go to cwm. Power off your device. Power on + vol up + home button
Btw, efs folder contains imei, so backup that also.
For apps, use titanium backup

I just rooted my phone ... succesfully
Backed up IMEI (by ktool)
used titanium PRO (for whole system+apps backups)
Now m ready for ROMS!
where do i get them and how to install? if i flash them via recovery... will it flash my whole phone?
Why will you not read the basics first are you really rushing to brick your phone and are that ignorant you cannot even find the Android Development sections .
Its not a game you risk scrapping your phone by failing to follow the instructions .

[Q] How to update Samsung Galaxy SI9000 from rooted android 2.2 to newer version?

Hi,
A friend of mine rooted my samsung mobile Galaxy S I9000 with a android 2.2 version. I cannot contact him anymore to help me with the update and I am really a newbie in this rooting world. So, I am coming on this forum to have some advice. I read information on rooting your device, in which everything is explained very well, but could not find information on how to update once a device was rooted (probably I did not search in the right place). What I did so far is:
1) Taking backup of my pics (by manually drag and drop the folder on my pc), SMS and call logs (with sms backup + app), syncronized my contacts with gmail so that I can recover them later on and backup the music folder. I installed backup Titanium to back up my apps on my SD card.
But now, I am stuck with some questions (could you guide me where to find the information?):
1) Which most recent version of Android is supported on the device I have?
2) Is there important information that I forgot to back up?
3) Is there a guide with step by step procedure on which files I have to download on my pc and which procedure to follow? Or could you advice me some useful links?
thanks!

[Q] Need Help ! Full SPFlash Backup for an Huawei G610-U00 needed

Hi folks,
I need an full backup for my (allmost bricked) G610s-U00 phone. I accedently delete my backup yesterday Yes I'm a fool....
If please someone can provide me an SpFlash set for that . That really would be great !!
You can use the "MTkDroid" for making an full Backup. This is very straight forward.
Start the tool connect the Device via USB (Debugging on) and press Backup. The Backup will be put into the sdcard so make sure you have enough free space.
There are some Howto and tutorials about that tool on the web and even in xda
eg. http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/f60...-mtk-droid-root-tools-backup-unbrick-1666984/
If you need more infos let me know.

I did install it using SP flash tools .. How ever i think all it did is simply do a factory reset on my phone as all the preinstalled applications are back
Well okay.. Never mind i got it.. For 8Gb version we need to download https://yadi.sk/d/7Wlud2fbZaYjA
and use SP flash toos version 5 to install from PC.

Hi. One thing i could say for sure: do not restore apps from prev versions of Android. They will install corupted. Better looK in sections of apps on your google account and install from there. Is safe and better. Iff you want to return to LiFe 0.7 you must flash your recovery TWRP 2.6.3.0 because TWRP 2.7.1.1 IS NOT COMPATIBILE. Titanium Backup has problems too. Install the latest version.
Hope this help.

Connectivity lost
I have 8 GB device. I am trying to flash P780_s221_LiFe_XVIBE_v05 using V5 SP Flash tool. I did follow the instruction of copying of files from target_bin-8G and replace the files in target_bin folder before flashing. Flashing and boot is successful. But the result is that the GSM/Data connection is lost. It is recognizing SIM cards as I do not see any error message on that. I see a red cross mark near the Signal Icon. When I tried recoveing IMEI from the backup using MobileUncleTool, one SIM is active and the other is still not. Any clue on what is the mistake? Further TWRP 2.7.1 is not recognizing external SD card and 'Mount SD card' function is not working when connected to Laptop.

Do not use that repartitioner on KK. It will not work and corrupt your partition, internal memory.
Thanks. I didn't know that.
However is there any way for re-partitioning when on KK? It's pretty important for me to increase internal memory. 1GB is not enough...

Stock ROM for the SM-T380 Rooted, Bloatware free TWRP backup

Since there isn't any Custom ROM for the SM-T380 I made this TWRP back from my tablet, running on stock Oreo took all the bloatware, Knox out to add some root mods, and latest updates with Magisk root. No other personal app added
This is a compressed TWRP backup, not a flashable ZIP!
Download it from here
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1lBsTd04Un6xJQkA0E6LpWxeDX7bhwsai
how to install TWRP
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga.../twrp-3-2-1-1-tab-sm-t380-10-02-2018-t3747564
DOWNLOAD/EXTRACT zip file from above Google Drive's link to your PC
Now REBOOT your tablet into TWRP recovery
connect tablet using USB cable to your PC make sure you have Samsung drivers installed, so you can see your tablet on your PC
ON your Tablet create a backup within TWRP's backup tab on your SD Card storage (choose storage SD card)
browse to that folder and open that SD card's TWRP backup folder, using your PC
go to last folder where you should see some files, delete them then
Copy EXTRACTED files from (Google Drives) into TWRP backups folder on your SD card TWRP/BACKUPS/xxxxxxxx/ from your PC to that SD card.
Where xxxxxxxx is your device serial number;
Once done copying the file
go to, restore's tab within your TWRP
RESTORE everything showing there (all those three partitions)
REBOOT to system
IF you can't see those copied files on your tablet then you have missed something. Restart back into TWRP
Thanks

I just installed it on my T380.. Be sure to follow the directions entirely. And remember to reboot TWRP after putting the sdcard with the backup files back in or else it may not read it (mine would not).

followed the directions but device wont read the backup file. would you mind posting all the steps you took to do the backup.
I had the same issue, so when the proper backup files are in place on the ext sdcard and reinserted into the device, but the device won't read it -- for me, I had to reboot the device into recovery and THEN it would read it.
