I have same problem
I read online the new december patch that came out, made changes to the AOD. I just noticed.. that when a notification comes in, its like a rain drop. The app icon drops from the top of the screen, and bounces into position.
Is there anything else you have noticed.
It fixed the imbalanced and distorted speakers of the Pixel 3 XL
Apps persist in the background longer so switching is smoother.
Does anyone know if the update fixed the issue with the pixel stands and audio notifications or lack there of?
I noticed that battery life is really shorter with december update...
It fixed a few things for me:
- I used to have phone call problems like people suddenly can't hear me - this seems now resolved.
- the usb-c headphones are now detected every time when I plug them in - before it often wouldn't detect them
- phone seems smoother

Seems normal to me, it just takes a day or two for the system to adjust caches and optimize the battery again. They probably tweaked the battery AI as well.
Is anybody using apps to record calls? Now the phone beeps every 15s to let other party know you're recording, very annoying Was wondering if it was doing so on Novembers update

It doesn't beep on your side, but it does beep for your recipient, and it's also provider dependant. Tried using EE SIM, no beeping, then put back my Vodafone SIM and beeping is back. This article here https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/call-recording-tone-implemented-android-t3876483 did say the tone will only be activated if carrier wants it. Damn Vodafone, wish I knew it before signing 24 months contract with them. Now my only hope is that someone with Vodafone and brains good enough will find how to deactivate this new Android feature...

I can't answer that. I didn't use it on other phones, and haven't used any other call recorders on the Pixel 3, so can't compare it. I just checked my battery usage and it doesn't even show up on the list of apps using battery, so certainly not a battery hog when not on a call. I don't make many calls so haven't noticed any abnormal battery usage with it installed. It has a visible button on the call screen so it's easy to start or stop the recording if you want.

So sounds like the beep has nothing to do with the Dec update. I'm on Google Fi, just tested it by calling my phone from my landline and no beep.

It might have been November's or previous update, but it's one of those released after the article was written (February if I remember correctly). The fact that you don't have a beep means your network carrier did not activate this new Android feature. Vodafone did :crying:

Ok. Can't dispute what you're saying. Seems odd that Google Fi wouldn't conform to Google's Android spec, but I'm not complaining. Might be related to Google Fi using other carriers, Sprint and T-Mobile, in the US since it appears from your observation it's carrier dependent. Our call recording laws vary by State as well which could complicate implementation here.

Being carrier dependant is not really my observation, I just doublechecked and confirmed what this article said: https://www.xda-developers.com/andro...alls-lawfully/

Ok. I thought you said you got beeping with one carrier but not another. I get an error with your link. No matter, good to know it's a new "feature" that may crop up, so thanks for that.

I do apologize, english not being my first language I sometimes do struggle to make sense :cyclops: It's weird that the article won't open though
https://www.xda-developers.com/android-p-call-recording-tone-support-record-phone-calls-lawfully/
Android P will add Call Recording Tone support so you can Record Phone Calls Lawfully
Android P will be adding support for a call recording tone so users on certain carriers will be aided in recording phone calls lawfully, according to a series of recent commits. This is not native support of call recording being added to Android P which already exists but is not implemented by most OEMs. This is simply so that a user on the other end of a phone call can be made aware the phone call is being recorded, and will only be enabled if the carrier wishes the device to play the tone.
The tone is a 1400Hz note that will play every fifteen seconds if the carrier enables it. It works by detecting the package name of a call recording app using the previously linked API. If any such package is detected, then the outgoing call will have the tone played to warn the other end that their call may be recorded. The tone will be automatically played depending on carrier configuration, which is determined by the SIM card.
According to the commits, Vodafone Germany is the only carrier that this call recording tone support will be mandated (for now), as the MCC/MNN combination mentioned in one of the files matches Vodafone’s carrier identity: 26202. This was likely done because Germany is two-party consent when it comes to call recording, not one party like some other countries. This means that the person on both ends of the phone line needs to know that they are being recorded, and calls may not be recorded without each party’s consent.

Basically I tested it as I'm with Vodafone and I get beeping (well, the other party hears it really, not me as I'm recording), and then tested with EE network and no beep there.

Your English is very good, so no reason to apologize for that. That info you posted is very clear. Laws do vary so it's not surprising that the implementation is inconsistent. Thanks for posting about it.

I'm not recording calls as far as I know & still the phone is beeping every 15 secs according to the other party who I'm on the call with. It's really annoying and I have no idea how to stop it!!! And yes I'm using Vodafone but I'm in the UK not Germany.

I'm in the UK too. You must have some app recording, because as soon as I switch off ACR, beeping stops. I've lost my hope to find a solution as issue is isolated to one carrier and not too many people will care, wish I didn't sign up with Vodafone for 24 months now...
Hi I just bought a new realme 3 pro and updated it to version EX_11_A.12
I heard in some post that realme 3 has a call record option available but going through the settings I still cannot see any option to record my calls can anyone assist me please.
Under call settings I only see automatic answer, carrier setting, SMS setting vibrate extra extra
Call recording option is available under settings>system apps>call
As I have mentioned in my post. There is no call recording option in call settings.
Finally after lot of messing with the phone settings I found the solution.
Drumroll please
:victory::victory:
just change the language and region setting to India gosh darn it how could I have missed that one.
I followed the instructions, even setting the language and the region of India I can't see the option to record calls
Call recorder is available by default. It is under PHONE --> SETTINGS --> CALL RECORDING under call settings.
I followed the procedure but I still cannot enable automatic call recording .... maybe because I have the European version ... I attach screen

me too.
I can't find call record option.
I'm using A.18 version.
You need to have asian version, not the european one. I tried to flash china ROM, but no luck... Stupid limitations.... There are youtube videos showing how to record a call, you decide to buy this phone in Europe and guess what... It is not working and there is no simple way to fix it
In case you're still searching, there's a solution for rooted EU roms; I tested it successfully:
See https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=81431741&postcount=4
Any creative ideas on how to enable the Stock Call Recorder?
I learned that it's disabled in Software and could be enabled with an editor if I had root (Realme Post explaining how) - but is there another way without root or to change the Region to make it think it was in India for example?
I already factory-reset, choosing India Region on first boot. Did the same with Thailand and with a Thai Sim, but none of that worked.
Bump ... anyone? Or any third party solution?
I tried Skvalex and Cube ACR but the quality is piss poor.
Even considered selling my German Phone and ordering a Chinese Variant, but apparently that comes without LTE Band 20.
I desperately need call recording, hugely frustrating because by now I fell in Love with this phone. The battery life alone is nothing short of incredible - but I can't use it as my day to day phone without call recording.
Boldbeast Call Recorder is working

Can you share your settings?

I prefer to use Bixby to answer spam calls. This is one of the best features that Samsung has backed into One UI.

Can. You elaborate how please?
You can go into the phone and choose the hamburger option on it and choose Bixby text call.
Hiya: Spam Blocker & Caller ID - Apps on Google Play
Phone security - Block spam calls, detect fraud numbers and see every caller ID
play.google.com
It will be interesting to see comparison between Google Screen Call vs Bixby in action. Since I switched to Pixel 7 Pro and using Screen Call and so spam calls are less now. I hade before like about 12 calls per month now I have maybe one call per month. So on unknown numbers I use Screen call.

I don't think they really compare. On the Pixel the screener works automatically. On the Galaxy, you have to select it each time a call comes in. It's not very convenient to use at all because of it requiring input on each call. Until they make it work automatically, it won't compare to the Pixel's implementation. Also, for some reason, it doesn't work when you're on wifi calling.
