[HELP] Can I use a android 9 device tree for 10? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Basically the title. There aren't many aosp 10 roms for my phone (J7 prime) but There are many pie roms. I would like to start creating roms for my phone. But I can only find android 9 device tree. Can I use this tree to compile android 10 roms? If not how can I somehow make it compatible, if it is possible. Any help is massively appreciated.

How to develop and write patches to android 5.0.2 and lineage os 14.1 for samsung a3

Hello,
I am new to android development. How do I get the source code for my specific device SM-A300H and write a patch for it.I want to enable "in band ringtones" for my phone and found some source code here:
android-review.googlesource.com/#/c/333111/
So in an attempt to enable inband I flashed my galaxy a3 with lineage OS- android 7.1.2 (I can roll back to 5.0.2 ROM if needed). So how do I write patches on android and do custom builds. It appears that Lineage OS code if fully based on java and the stock android code I found in the above link has some .cc files. I have basic programming experience in windows (little linux as well). Someone please guide me, I want to learn this.

Help in Custom Rom Building

well i didnt know where to ask so i made my thread here
i'm kind of new to Custom rom Building but i've started to get well
there is a couple of question i would like to ask
i have a Huawei Holly Hol-U19 android phone and it has a 7.1 RR rom ,
so first do if i like to build an oreo rom , i know that i need to have the device tree and vendor tree
as i was looking around github , i have found a device tree but i can post it cuz i am new here .... just search liquidporting huawei holly
but under branch i get CM 14.1 Which is Android 7.1
my question is do i need a device tree which has a CM 15 branch ?
my second question is .. i looked online and saw that to build a device tree you need the boot.img and recovery.img of the stock rom , but the stock rom is 4.4.4 and the highest rom i can find which is 7.1 so is there any way i could make a 8.0 ROM ?? without a CM 15 Device tree ?
and somehow i can find its vendor tree ... so if someone made a full explaintion i would be delighted

Is WPS present on any of the android 10 custom ROMs?

If anyone is currently running an android 10 custom ROM (havoc, AOSPEX, superiorOs, etc...), can you please confirm if WPS was re-implemented?
Google removed WPS from android 9 last year, but some developers re-implemented it in their android 9 ROMs.
I want to know if any android 10 ROMs contain this feature.

Android 11 R on samsung galaxy a10

Lately i have noticed some youtube tutorials of how to install android 11 R (which is currently in developer mode). And seems as if many devices especially ARM64 devices are being used including J7, A3, and other A series phones.
They are using gsi roms from either google android developer webpage or Erfan's GSI roms for their tutorials
The features are pretty much the same with android 10 because not much work has said yo be not done yet.
Was just wondering if it was possible to try it on our A10.
Im not sure if there are galaxy A10 phones with ARM64, but many i saw have A64 with A/B partitions which means they use A64AB gsi roms.
Is there anyone who tried it yet? Or is it even possible or we will have to wait for other stable versions to come.
Thank you

[HELP] Building Android for Unsupported/New Device

Hi im wondering if it's possible to build android 9 for a device that shipped with android 10 and has no support for android 9. I'm using a Google Pixel 4, running an Android 10 rom that I compiled from aosp. It's fully rooted, unlocked, twrp, custom kernel, custom rom. I'm new to building android but I've successfully built roms from lineage 17 and 18 for my pixel 4, as well as android 10 and 11 for my pixel 4. Im curious if it's possible to build android 9 for the device. And if so, how? The aosp website doesn't give much information on the process.
