I was wondering if anyone is planning to or tried to do the google Photos mod for Original size photos and unlimited storage in S21 yet?
I am switching from teampixel to S21 after 4 years, certainly, miss all google's stock apps especially the Google Photos feature. I was just wondering is someone is also in my boat trying to get the unlimited google photos app installed.
one day into S21 and so far so good, especially the speed at it operates at.

I've just upgraded to an S4 and want to have my S3 as a tab for the kids. They currently use it with Zoodles turned on which locks off purchasing and visiting the home page. This works Ok but I'm wondering if there are any other alternatives.
I would still like to use the phone myself sometimes but only via wifi. Ideally having separate logins for each user would be great but I'm not sure if it's possible. The kids play games, watch videos, listen to music. Apps are currently purchased on my Google account. The phone had international i9300 Samsung software and is unrooted.
Any ideas or recommendations?

Does anyone have a problem with random Google Photos freezing? For example when I swipe through gallery on full screen, sometimes it freezees and I have to restart the phone by long pressing the power button. It usually happens after watching movie recorded by Mate's camera and when I swipe to a next movie or photo.
It's really frustrating especially that I love using Google Photos app and I use it's cloud service. For now I have to switch to native gallery app and have my fingers cross for Huawei to allow to buy more than 5 GB of storage space in Huawei's cloud.
My Mate 10 Pro is from official distribution on the newest Huawei's software, Google Photo app is also up to date.

Same also have an issue where if you get a notification from Google photos and click on it it doesn't open the app
I cleaned Google photos app's data and it's been working well for some days. I hope it would stay this way, because - for me - it's the best cloud solution with the great app on market. I think it's a problem with Mate's software, or maybe with Oreo 'cause on my LG G4 with a previous Android's version it worked without problems.
Edit: after recording new movies the problem is here again...

Have the same issue as well ...also combination of swipe and video in google foto's app ...... hope they will fix this one... anyone know if google photo team / huawei have a way to submit bugs?
I had problem today aswell went on to Google photos and they was there but was all greyed out had to turn fone off an on and it worked again
Also does anyone know how often themes store updates with new themes

You can leave a feedback from inside the google photos app, I just did that. Maybe it helps.
Okay so I tried out a bunch of Magisk modules and one of them is "xmlpack - a road to vendor apps" which makes the play store detect your phone as eligible for vendor apps (apps made by manufacturers for their specific phones).
That's great, but then I got this weird notification from Google Photos and this info card under my account :

So Apparently, because of xmlpack, Google Photos thinks my Pocophone is a Pixel 3 (Pixel 2's end date is 2020, pixel 3 is 2022, just like my card). If Google Photos just uses the latest xmlpack it finds, as long as the developper of the magisk module updates it, we'll get free OG quality uploads forever ! That sure seems cool, I just hope it doesn't get patched up too quickly...

shhhhh.
That's not what's happening. This BREAKS the unlimited "original" storage (even on Pixels).
Check the file sizes on a different device, they're not the original file size.
hi wondering if anyone is able to check if google messages & google camera (both by google LLC) work on s10 lite.
I tried out the phone in store & neither of those apps even showed up in the play store when using the s10 lite. google contacts did & installed no issues so not sure why messages & camera would be an issue. Might be demo software issue but strange it would only affect certain google apps & not them all. Also i tried it in 2 different stores where the demo software would be different & same issue on both.
would appreciate of a screenshot of the search results on play store for both apps if possible. thanks in advance.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what Google apps come preinstallled in the usa xt2041-4 model. I'm thinking about purchasing this phone. Thanks.
I bought mine from Amazon unlocked, and it came with pretty much all the google apps that were necessary for the device to work. Apps such as google dialer, contacts, calendar, duo, etc. This is the first time I own a phone that come with all the basic apps such as the dialer by google instead of vanilla android version. All the google apps on this device can either be disabled or uninstalled. If you root the device, then you can uninstall them all, though they are mostly robust apps with constant updates. My only concern with the all google apps is the data collection. As somebody once said that Google doesn't make all these free apps out of goodness of its heart. Google's true money make has always been the data collection/mining, so more people use its apps the merrier. Therefore, to ease my paranoia, I replaced calendar and contact with simple apps, but it's just futile efforts on my part...
