Hey guys, I recently flashed my J9110 (TW firmware) with a SEA firmware i got from XperiFirm. Despite it being successful, after trying to install back apps and softwares, when I restart the phone, it would wake up in a Factory Reset state. I have tried repairing it with the Xperia Companion app (it would give me the SEA firmware) but the issue keeps coming back. Any suggestions? Should I go back to the TW firmware?

Greetings
I have an Xperia Mini st15i.
The problem is that the phone never shows the E,3G,H icons,
and cannot connect to mobile internet.
(via wifi it works ok).
Initially the phone had the Android 2.3.4 firmware.
The initial update to firmware 4.0.4 build 431 was done using the phone itself.
I had read somewhere that this way,
some problem might occur during the update via the phone
and this causes the 3g,etc icons not to appear
And they suggested to re-flash the phone to build 587, doing a factory reset.
That's why I have (successfully) flashed it from build 431 to ST15i_4.1.B.0.587_Unbranded.ftf using flashtool.
(I've also checked the option during the flashing, to "Reset customizations"=factory reset).
But, it didn't help
The internet settings in the device are ok, I've doublechecked them manually.
And, in Settings>About phone>Status, it shows indeed 3G.
(and generally, the 3G signal here is strong: other phones in the house, using the same or other carriers, all show 3G or Η icon all the time)
I've tried putting other SIMs (of the same or other carrier) in the phone, but didn't work.
What do you suggest?
Will it help to do a factory reset via the phone, too? (Settings>Backup & Reset>Factory data reset)
Is it enough?
Or should I do a factory reset via the phone and then re-flash build 587 ?
Do a factory reset if that wont help then repair your phone via Pc Companion or Sony Update Service
I've just re-flashed it using Sony Update Service and it was fixed.
Thanks a lot.

The XTZ's stock firmware does not have a recovery menu. To get back to factory default, go to Settings > Backup & Reset and select Factory data reset, or use Sony PC Companion (PCC) or Sony Mobile's Update Service (SUS) to reinstall the firmware.
To install an earlier version of firmware, download the appropriate FTF of the firmware (search this forum for download links), then flash it to your XTZ using Sony Mobile Flasher by Androxyde.
THIS POST will tell you how to access the available functions of the XTZ's stock firmware.
So some time back I made a thread regarding a problem I was facing. My phone would randomly freeze up and restart on its own. I tried hard resettig, repairing using PC companion, flashing using Flashtools , changing SIMs etc. but nothing seemed to fix it. Then I had to arrive to the dreadful conclusion that it was a hardware fault. But 2 days ago I got the bright idea of flashing an older firm ware version (17.1.1.A.0.438) using flash tools without wiping internal data and now the problem is 100% fixed. the phone hasn't restarted even once after a 3 full days of heavy use. So with this I can safely say that the probem is with the 17.1.2.A.0.314 firmware. Has anyone else had this issue? because my friend also owns a z2 and his phone works just fine with the 17.1.2.A.0.314 firmware. Any ideas how to fix it?
Flash 314 fw with wiping data
Hey guys,
since 2-3 weeks i'm using the 6.0.1 official version which i got via OTA update (everything original on my phone, no root, no flashing any software) for my international S6 Edge.
First i noted havy battery drain and uninstalled a few apps. A weather widge forced the heacy battery drain and my phone worked fine.
Since 4 Days i have problems with random reboots. It started with some reboots a day and now it keeps rebooting after i unlocked sim card and want to use my phone. I managed to put my phone in flight mode and i were able to make a backup of my userdata via samsung smartswitch. I initialized the phone via the software and it flashed the newest version. After it finished it booted up and in the language selection screen it keeps rebooting.
I read about corrupted files due update from version 5.x to 6.0.1 and thought to wipe the phone and flash newest software via smartswitch would fix the problem but my phone is not usable anymore.
Maybe you have any advice for me?
Thanks for your further help!

Hi borth87
As it won't get worst, I suggest to flash a clean Stock version.
From SamMobile find the latest firmware for your device model.
After, for the download, I suggest you to use:
[TOOL] SamFirm - Samsung firmware downloader & checker
Just provide Model+Region and it will find you the newer firmware available. Please, before download, check the boxes: CRC32 & Decrypt
Flash the above using the lastest Odin v3.11.1
- Open Odin
- Reboot Phone in Download Mode (press and hold Home + Power + Volume Down buttons)
- Connect phone and wait until you get a blue sign in Odin
- Add the firmware file downloaed to AP / PDA
- Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked
- Click the start button, sit back and wait few minutes
Let us know your path.
Nice regards.

Thanks for the reply.
Will the flashing via odin touch the knox warranty?

Hi B

Hi.
I has the same problem. I tried to flash all of firmwares (always STOCK), but it's failed with ODIN all times. Samsung Smart Switch PC software say system repair succesfull (with emergency update repair), but the problem keep joke with me.
Phone don't repond without charger. With PC connection, i don't allow to run restore mode, only ODIN mode. With Wall charger adapter, i allow to run restore mode, odin mode, safe system mode, normal system, but i wiped cache, i do factory reset, i rebooted in bootloader and rebooted system as normal. When i run system in normal mode, language selection show up, and when i press next, phone reboot. When i run system in safe mode, i can select my language, and i can connect to my WiFi, but after i press NEXT at wifi list, phone reboot.
So in safe mode i able to do more one step, but system keep rebooting. Charging screen show battery at 89-90% all times, system start updating battery status from 1% to 100% (1 percent/ 1.5 sec).
Some times red-green-blue-purple rows show at Samsung logo and i got bootloop. Like when i put off my battery from my old phone.
Two days after getting my XA Ultra, I received the latest firmware update. Everything was flawless until I couldnt unlock my phone since the system ui was crashing. I tried booting to recovery mode and perform a basic factory reset and I could not.
I plugged my device to my PC and for some reason, the system ui stopped crashing. I tried going to settings and factory resetting it from there, every time phone would reboot, it would boot android back again without resetting my data.
I ended up using the software repair option and here I am still at 40% trying to fix it.
What combination keys should I use to boot my device to recovery mode and reset it?

It seems it's a security problem. The phone is encrypted by So Sony and every time I set a password an error occurs and it makes the settings app crash. I managed to run a "software repair" using the Xperia companion which downloaded the latest firmware and reinstalled it onto the phone but bug is still there.
I contacted Sony but tech support agents are always rude and helpless they had no technical knowledge. I am now using the phone but I cannot set a pin or pattern otherwise the system crashes.
Phone is under warranty I could easily mail it back to Amazon but I wouldn't like another customer to have this issue. Any suggestions?
In this case I would recommend the use of Flashtool. Your problem is software related and can easily be fixed without the painful process of an RMA.
Flashtool can auto download the latest firmware and will do a COMPLETE wipe and reflash of all data.
