Can I get the AOSP on Windows 10? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I got recently a book about Android System Programming because I have interests in it. Now this could be a noob question (I just hope I don't get banned or kicked), but is there any way to get the source code directly on Windows 10 than Ubuntu? I mean, I don't want to ruin the Wi-Fi Adapter for Windows 10 again because it requires custom drivers that I already hate (need LAN instead of dumb Wi-Fi Adapters). Those custom drivers cannot be installed on Ubuntu so if I need Internet on Ubuntu, I need to connect my phone to tether connection through USB.
Currently, I am dual-booting Ubuntu 20.10 with Windows 10 and I don't want to boot into Ubuntu unless I get a Wi-Fi Repeater that I can connect with LAN so that I don't ruin the connection on Windows 10 or connect the LAN directly with the router that I require at least 18 meters long LAN cable. Don't ask why...
There could be a way to download the AOSP on the Windows 10, but I really doubt that it won't work. But if there is a way then let me know the possibilities to download the AOSP on Windows 10.

[Q] how to setup pppoe over UsbToEthernet adapter?

hi friends,
Following is my setup.
1. Nexus 7(old one) tablet with usb-to-ethernet adapter. I am able to access internet through this.
2. I have one ubuntu 12.04 LTS linux machine where I am running pppoe server by installing package rp-pppoe package. The server works fine, I tested from another computer with mac os.
I want to make my Nexus 7 as pppoe-client and linux pc as server and try to connect these two. But don't know how to proceed. What are things I need on my Nexus to run pppoe-client.
Do I need to enable kernel module or any app is available? Everywhere I found only the pppoe over wifi only. But could not find for pppoe over usb-to-ethernet adapter.
Please advice.

[Q] Internet Pass Through and Windows 8.1 x64?

I can't get Internet Pass Through to work with Windows 8.1 x64. I've installed the latest HTC Sync 3.3.36, but it didn't recognize the phone. I then installed the Windows 8.1 drivers from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2714921
That made it recognize the phone and install an HTC Remote NDIS based Device. That makes the Internet Pass Through setting on the phone show the arrow icons for data in the notification bar, but the phone still isn't seeing the PC's internet connection.
Has anyone managed to get this to work in Windows 8.1? What's the trick?

Windows dont find other Windows when use USB tethering

When I used to connect to the modem as regular way (just the cable to connect to modem and other pc using wireless to connect to modem) both the pc could recognizes in same network and I could play LAN games normally.
Now I just use the phone in usb tethering to connect to the modem and noone see other in same network whatever I settup manually inside windows and now noone game find the LAN server.
I seached in find that is a problem with IPs in android, I have an android 2.3 rooted and other 5.1 non rooted, I tried Port Forwarder but dont know how to settup this, tried this http://android.stackexchange.com/questions/43995/use-galaxy-s2-s3-as-router-for-pc-lan-gaming using ip route in my roted phone but the codes did not work. I dont know what to do right now, just only need that Left4Dead find the server as lan game and if I make windows find other in same network im sure that will work :good:
-both of OS are Windows 7

Force Remix OS to detect phone's USB connection?

Hey guys,
I installed the latest Remix onto a separate partition so I can dual-boot on my Windows 7 machine.
It seems to work fine, I guess. Detects my cheap little USB wifi adapter, at least. But it will not detect my Android phone when connected to PC via USB. Now I'm sure this is due to lack of Android-to-Android wired interface, and someone will probably recommend an OTG cable, but honestly, is there any way of forcing Remix OS to detect USB connection from an Android phone?
