Not a question really but a warning I guess, idiots at samsung have messed with ONEDRIVE on this device, app cant be removed and reinstalled, also photo upload doesnt work unless you also switch gallery to onedrive, ludicrous, I hate it when samsung mess with something that works perfectly well and makes it much more complicated to use.
actually its also broken photo upload altogether, there is no photo upload in settings and if I enable onedrive in gallery it doesnt upload anything, ffs
When you start up phone, it asked for Samsung to access Onedrive. Don't do it, or disable it. My Onedrive works perfect and backs up my photos perfectly. Had this issue on S20 and this fixed that also. Sammy is dropping the web storage so might as well do it now.
it works if you enabled it gallery but it pumps the photos to a new folder in onedrive instead of camera roll, super annoying, there is no way at all to use the normal method.
oddly however i've also lost it on my older S10, not really sure whats going on here now, I just want to install ONEDRIVE, turn on photo upload and have done with it, what is this gallery nonesense, is this a new thing thats changed recently for ONEDRIVE/SAMSUNG gallery / phones?

how do I now disable that without completely re-setting up my phone?
From an internet search:
1. Open settings on your device.
2. Go to Accounts and Backup.
3. Go to Samsung Cloud.
4. There should be a setting there that refers to connected apps/services/accounts.
5. Select OneDrive and then select disconnect.
thanks but I already tried that, its not in that list
Try this:
How do I Disconnect my Samsung Gallery from OneDrive?
To disconnect your Samsung Gallery from OneDrive If you want to stop the Samsung Gallery app syncing photos to OneDrive and remove the Samsung data sharing permissions to your Microsoft Account, you'll need to edit how you sign-in to Microsoft: Open your Microsoft Account's Additional security options. Next to Samsung account, select Remove.
i managed to get cameron upload option back by removed both outlook and onedrive accounts and wiping data, however it doesnt work, and oddly the phone is storing these acounts somewhere as I didnt have to logon again, it just added the accounts again, even though i removed them.

thanks but i'm seeing no such options in accounts on my phone.
feck it, doing a factory reset, I still have my S10 to do another smart switch from.
That's all well and good, but search your Microsoft account using your computer more thoroughly. If you don't disconnect it from there, it will probably try and reconnect even with the reset.
what do you mean search you microsoft account using your computer, where are you talking about exactly?
Where I posted above, You need to go to your "Microsoft account" to unlink Samsung, or it will grab it again. Just easier to do from a computer. I'm not talking on the phone/accounts... I'm saying directly at Microsoft, same as Google, Apple.... There you find all your allowed connections, sharing, devices, privacy....
thanks for your help but you are being too vague, exactly where do I need to look and what do I need to unlink / remove?
i found what you meant now in this article, addition secutiry options link further down, its impossible to find this in my actual account anywhere though.

Hey everyone,
I was just curious if you use color note?
And if you do, where does it sync with google?
My phone successfully syncs and all my notes appear, but when I go to my google account or my gmail, I can't find the notes anywhere.
I know you can back up to the SD card, but it's when I sync to google I can't find them there.
i'm wanna know too
somebody....
proprietary sync
It syncs to ColorNote's servers but only uses google to authenticate/log you in. You cannot access your notes online but they claim to be working on a desktop client.

Official information :
I signed up for online sync service with Google account (Facebook account). Are my notes be synced to Google (Facebook)?
ColorNote's online sync service is not synchronized with Google (Facebook). The Google (Facebook) account is used only for authentication when signing into ColorNote. This feature lets you avoid having to create and remember a separate ID/password just for ColorNote.
I signed up for online sync service. Can I access my notes from a PC?
Currently ColorNote online sync service supports only mobile devices. We are looking into developing a web service so that you can access notes online.
I changed devices. How can I restore the notes on the new device?
You can transfer notes saved on the previous device to the new device using SD card backup or Online sync service. In particular, online sync service is recommended. Choose one method from the following four methods depending on your situation.

And millions agree with you.
ColorNote is the Best Note taker in Android,
but even though C.Note has talked about coming up with a PC Sync since 4 years back
nothing has actually happened...
So keep hoping.
none of the above responses helps. i synchronized my colornotes online and i cant find them on my gmail (where i thought it was saved to). How practically will I get my notes back now, please i really have to get them back
Color note sync
Syncing with Google drive means that when you log into your Google account on a second !mobile device you will find color note on the second device contains all your entries.
What would like to know if Google can know the password you use as I didn't need to input it in to my second device.
I use a Nexus 7 and a Motoe. I can make an entry in either device hit sync a and it appears in the other device.
Cheers
Pain in the neck!
Was this issue ever resolved?
You'd think it wouldn't be This difficult trying to transfer my notes from my old phone (Galaxy s3) to my new one (s5)
Like the OP, I tried the sync thing with my Google acct & when I looked for it, I didn't find a thing.
I also tried:
-Bump/NFC beaming & it *did* transfer the CNote app but minus any of my actual notes.
-Evernote & all *that* did was negate my CNote app! As if I'd uninstalled it.
Closest I got was getting an SD card, backing up to that, then emailing that data to myself so I could download it to my laptop (pc) & eventually put into the CNote app on the new phone. But, of course, another dead end when I opened the file, all I saw was a bunch of insane gibberish. It apparently was in Word 97-2003 ."doc" format.
I'm thinking maybe the version of CNote I had on the old phone is different from the one on the new.
Someone here in this thread said CNote is "the Best Note taker in Android." Not sure I believe that. I *do* love its simplicity & clarity, but for the users like myself who are griping here, when it comes to doing what we need it to do- it sucks. And their customer service is basically non-existent.
I'm about ready to break down & just spend 30 minutes to an hour just emailing each one to myself.
Can someone suggest an equally simple, but FAR more flexible note taking app? Thanks!
If you copy the document (backup) you sent to your email and copy that via a USB cable into your mobile phone directory (storage/emulated/0/data/colornote) or phone/data/colornote as it is shown in windows structure. Than inside Colornote (Settings/ backup) you will be able to see this backup. Click on it and view you will see all your notes.
I don't see how you can restore it but that could be related that I don't have any changes between the current version and my backup.
Hope this helps
Remco
HEY.... For all of you who are concerned about the case: How to back up and restore data in ColorNote for Android?
The following explanation helped me:
The thing is what if you’re changing phones or transferring data from one device to another? You will definitely need to back up your phone data and that, of course, includes the data that you’ve saved using ColorNote. You need to have ColorNote app in the new device and get access to it via Online Sync, and automatically it restores all of you notes that were there in the old device.
Lost in Space
I have a question since I have no idea where my personnel information is going "SERVER" is there a way to delete your information from this so called server????
My nexus tablet was stolen and my notes are locked on my surface pro. How can I unlock them on the surface pro?
Windows 10 App for Color Note
If you have a PC with Windows 10 you can download a Color Note App for access on that computer.
Colornote Sync deletes my data
- I inadvertently deleted all my notes
- Easily restored them using my internal backup
- Problem is when I turn sync back on it deletes all my notes
- I believe it is looking to the cloud as the most current status, seeing it empty (since I deleted everything) and syncing all that emptiness to my phone, erasing my freshly restored notes.
- How can I get sync properly operational again ?
Thanx !
The fault is the mocosoft
THE QUESTION IS : WHERE ARE THE DATAAAAAAAAAAA ????????? !!!!!!!!!!!!
My answer is : colornotes is Microsoft application ( in Spanish MOCOsoft sheet industry )
AND YOUR DATA IS IN MOCOSOFT ENTERPRISE ( of corse : very very and very protected )))

i managed to sync my ColorNotes using gmail ..
apparently Google places the Notes in the [Trash] section of the Google Drive linked to your gmail =D
classic google ..
Simply install ColorNotes app on your PC. Log in using your google account. All your notes are stored there. Just did it myself and it works like charm...
I did some searching and the only related threads I can see involve account & sign in issues which this is not. I'm not getting the error message telling me that I need to sign in. The problem I'm having is that when I attempt to upload an image to Picasa my albums are not listed where you would select an existing album to upload to. I also am unable to click the '+' symbol that allows you to create a new album to upload to. When I go into my Gallery to browse folders I can select Picasa from the drop down and all of my folders are there and my account is still sync'd in the accounts section of settings. So... it's seeing the account and the images already there no problem. The issue is with uploading specifically. I tried to un-sync and re-sync my Picasa account in settings as well as rebooting and various combinations and nothing seems to help. I'm running the stock ROM but the phone is rooted. I attempted to load the GB Gallery which is related but I don't think was the cause of this because I ran into it in the past on customer ROMs on other devices. I always just chalked it up to a bug in the ROM and never was able to solve it. Now that I'm on the stock ROM there really isn't much of an excuse for this.
Anyone have a fix or any advice for this? I use this a lot so I miss not having it when I just had it the other day.
Thanks for the help!
I've had this problem always with ICS. My main google account doesn't show the list of albums. Where my secondary one does show the coupld it has.. I have been unable to figure it out :/.
Why don't you just use auto upload in google+. It is basically doing what you want to do except it does it automatically. Auto upload creates a folder that only you can see in your picasa web albums, you can then either move the image to a public folder or just share the image via link. If you just want to share one picture you can do it via email or the google plus app as well.

I don't want to keep all of the pictures l take though. More importantly I don't see option to move the pictures to albums from the google plus app.

After further research it appears as though it's an Android bug. If you have another type of account sync'd it will confuse Picasa and you won't be able to see your folders or login/upload. For instance, say your Google account is the following email address:
[email protected]
and your DropBox account username is the same thing:
[email protected]
This will cause a conflict for some reason when it comes to Google being able to log you in and it will fail. For me I think it was my DropBox account which uses the same email as my Google account so it was causing issues. I tested this w/o having my DropBox account sync'd or even installed and w/o fail I can now access my Picasa folders and upload w/o issue.
Google needs to address this bug. That's all their is to it. This is a stupid error that shouldn't be too difficult to address and it's creating heartache for customers since most won't know why it's not working the way it just should be. It also seems that the last thing Google wants is people going back to their old email accounts for sign-in and notifications from various products. This is counter-productive for all their efforts to date.
FIX THIS GOOGLE!

That's not really the point. Android shouldn't be denying login to DropBox so that I as the consumer can use whatever services available to me that I wish to use.
I agree it's silly to have that kind of error with the same email.
I just found an app PicasaTool that lets me upload to my picasa account correctly. So for now I guess I will use that.

I'm just not comfortable giving 3rd parties my username and password so I will just change my Dropbox email and use the built in functionality with this as a workaround until such time that Google sees fit to address this bug.
Understandable. It doesn't ask for UN/PW by the way. It just uses the coin authentication thing.

Several months further and on ICS (4.0.4) it wasn't fixed. JB is coming for my phone (SGSII) this month. Let's hope JB fixes this bug.
For now my solution is: changed the email of my dropbox and deleted facebook apps, doing everything on the mobile website now.
Reclaim your Contacts !
Actually turned out simpler to do than i initially thought it would be.
Enables "Keep Locally" ( keep_local ) option for adding new contacts instead of forced google account.
Prevents google from deleting all you contacts when you remove your account
Disables google contact sync
The offending package comes with gapps if you got google that way.
GoogleContactsSyncAdapter.apk you will find it in /system/app/ (need root file explorer to see it though)
You can make this fix in 3 ways, the first may not need root but i cant test as my phone is rooted.
In Settings>App find it in the list of all installed apps, click it, click disable. (please someone tell me if they can do this without root)
Use a root file explorer such as "Root Browser", navigate to /system/app/ backup the app .apk to your sdcard for example, then delete it.
You can also try clicking the app .apk in "Root Browser" and choose uninstall, but i could get this to work.
Thats it ! , no need to reboot. Enjoy
(to test it worked, just navigate to Settings>Accounts>(your google account) and you will see there is no longer the option to sync contacts)

What would be the thing to replace this with? It's important to have something as convenient as what we're replacing. You can export you contacts to a single .vcf file. This can then be bluetoothed over to your desktop, uploaded to a server or transferred by USB or sdcard but what we really want is something as convenient as Google Contacts which syncronises to a place/server that you control automatically and easily.
Not sure if there's an alternative app out there though for this?
There's Go Contacts, ContactMoney and alternative dialers but I don't think these have alternative sync methods.
I think I'd prefer something from the fDroid/homebrew/commandline way. Perhaps a SyncML solution, or just something that automates the process of exporting contacts, encrypting them with a basic password and uploading to dropbox or an email address.
i was thinking the same thing, like ftp/sftp backup. it could be done pretty easily but i may not be the person to do it , i havent looked around though and suspect there may already be something already that could do this...
btw, yes i love f-droid too and recommend everyone to install its repo browser app and check out whats on offer.

In f-droid you find funambol (syncML), LDAP Sync and aCal (CardDAV).
I don't use any of them (to lazy to set up a server) but with some effort you should be able to make contact-sync work for you.

hotmail/corporate sync
This worked fabulously till i decide to use a Hotmail account (with the stock email app), from that moment on the problem reappeared, just instead of trying to store the contacts in gmail, it now tries to store in Hotmail/corporate account!!!!
Has Google hired all the stupid developers that Microsoft fired??? Microsoft is becoming famous for it ability to consider their clients stupid and the attitude: when-know-what-you-want-better-than-you, now Google seems to be going with the same mentality!
Any idea how to stop this on the hotmail account?
p.s. my only workaround was to use the Hotmail app instead of the stock email app, unfortunately the Hotmail app (Microsoft, remember?) thinks i will never need to see any email older than 30 days?!?!?! WTF???

I use MyPhoneExplorer - it syncs my local contacts to my Thunderbird and vice versa. It syncs calendar events too ... so eventually I've got a copy and it's all local. One thing it doesn't do is contacts photos, so I also use SuperBackup to make a copy on my SD card (this way I can get the pictures up quickly).
When contacts are in Thunderbird (I've created there an address book just for syncing the phone) I can re-arrange, edit, etc. and when syncing back the pictures are retained ... Then I do SuperBackup to have a copy of new phone book with pictures.

This little app will do the trick:
play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fjsoft.mylocalaccount
After you install it, go to Accounts and create one "MyLocalAccount". After that, all you have to do is to transfer your contacts from the Google account into the "Local contacts" account just created. You can do this with the built-in Export/Import contacts tool.

Hi, i want to reverse this topic
sync google accounts
It's been a while since I've been through this, but unfortunately I have a similar problem. My problem is "Google account" in accounts and sync. But I can only select google photos when I click on the sync mark. No selection box for contacts. How can I fix that?
The device has clone s3 and ics 4.0.4 on it. The gapps packages available for this release also do not work. It does not synchronize people in any case. I cleaned the data from the applications, I deleted Accounts.db and reinstalled it.
Finally, I found the following lines for Accounts.xml and added it, but still there is no positive situation. What else can I do? Thank you.
Syncable = "true"> <authority id = "3" account = ".." type = "com.google" authority = "com.android.contacts"
<PeriodicSync period = "86400" />
</ Authority>
I got a Galaxy S3 (International Edition) just yesterday
I enabled it to pull stuff from my google accounts, but then when I'm going to open the contacts, I see a bunch of my gmail contacts
How can I remove those from the phone? Selecting to display 'only contacts with phones' seems to fix it, but the email contacts are still available to be seen if one goes to settings and sets to display all contacts again
The same happens with the gallery application, it has like one album for each image I've ever published in Google+, I can set it to display only images from the phone, but then this is not a permanent setting, everytime I exit the Gallery app and re-enter it, it will display all the images from G+ (and I've heard that it will scan the microSD at launch for images, so it will become a clutter of every possible image it can find in the SD)
I have now disabled the sync of google contacts / g+ stuff to the phone, from settings -> accounts and sync -> uncheck sync google photos/google+/picasa web albums/contacts, so it doesn't pull down new stuff anymore, but the old stuff is still there
Is there any way to remove that?
Is there a good gallery app that will not scan the whole SD for media, nor will pull stuff from picasa/google+?
Thanks!
quick pic is the gallery app for you, you can select which folders to see, or just long press a folder and hit exclude

Sad to say, I find iOS comfortable, and have done since the first iPhone.
I digressed with an Galaxy S3 for a couple of months, but then it was not for me.
No I´m tempted by the Sonys Xperia Z1, as it features some of the things I loved about my old Sony Ericcson K800. Dedicated camera button, superior camera, and the remote headset option, witch I loved in its time. The gourgeous IPS screen and waterproofing also is a killer, and the more simple UI compared to touchwiz is tempting.
But heres my concern:
On the iPhone, iCloud gives me wireless automatic backup of my deice. Absolutely no stress to restore it. iCloud provides automatic syncronizing of my contacts, my notes(use this one alot) and calendar between devices (mac, ipad and iphone). iCloud also gives me an option to locate my phone by gps if lost. I have a friend who left her phone on the roof of her car, and drove away. iCloud led her back to an almost unharmed phone.
Lots of things are **** about the Apple limitations, but those things mentioned above are golden for me, therefore:
Were are Android at this stage?
1 - At wireless automatic backup and restore?
2 - At wireless automatic syncing of notes, calendar and contacts?
Are there integrated solutions, or do you put together your own solution by picking from different providers?
Android users views and comments about this are much appreciated.
Google automatically backs up contacts, if you login to your google account on your device. And dropbox is very good cloud service, so add your media to there.
try the new Copy.com cloud, they offer 15GB on sign-up + a stunning 5GB for every referral, i already got like 700+ GB free cloud space, they offer apps for every platform out there.

Well, contacts, calendar, documents (google docs - if your wise) , pictures (google+ or FB), music (google music), wallpaper and system settings are auto backed up to gmail. Nothing to do EVER, and nothing to BUY either!
Need more? OK. Go SMS which destroys all other SMS clients anyway will backup sms to sd card, google drive, dropbox, or their own server free.
Apps -- auto synced to play store or many 3rd party apps (no root needed).
So what's missing????
No need to perform a backup or restore either! When you sign into your google account on phone setup - it just does it . Thats all.
Oh, and since you can actually look at your phones files you can just copy and paste.
Suggested apps to look into
Go SMS, Go Backup, Helium, G Drive, Google+, Astro, ES File Explorer, etc etc

Well, contacts, calendar, documents (google docs - if your wise) , pictures (google+ or FB), music (google music), wallpaper and system settings are auto backed up to gmail. Nothing to do EVER, and nothing to BUY either!

Okay , why doesn't Google provide a global back up of the phone ? it's really frustrating that we have to use third party apps to back up things separately, why sin't contact and SMS back up supported and built in the android system, even media, this is really a hassle and clutters my phone every time i am migrating to a new device, i hope the day comes where back up is unified in one single option!

For SMS that is due to the different ways each OEM sets up the SMS databases. If you restore the data base from sense to a touch wiz rom you will have issues. With Apple you only have one os. With Android each device has its own distro of the os and works very differently.
