Questions on how to root OP 7T PRO A11 OB2 with Magisk - OnePlus 7T Pro (Regular & McLaren) Q & A

Seems I couldn't find a clear steps in rooting Android 11 from xda and youtube. Would like to confirm the ff questions;
1. Should I use the A11 OB2 boot.img to patch in magisk or should I use the stable build one?
2. If I patched the wrong boot.img what am I gonna expect, softbric or hardbrick?

B23 Oreo bootloop after flashing magisk 16.7

Hi, I recently flashed the newest B23 Oreo using EDL method, everything works perfect. But after flashing magisk 16.7, which worked well with ROM A2017X_V1.3.0B01_0_Universal, I'm having boot loop now.
Follow the guide on axon 7 forums.
You need boot.img, magisk 18 and custom module zip for magisk
You may want to try the latest canary build of Magisk. They've been fixing this issues lately. I don't think it will take all of the workarounds now.
I tried the 18.2 and debug release, still not work. Anything missing?

How do I upgrade my rooted oryginal MIUI 10.3.8 to MIUI 11 on Pocophone F1?

Hello. I have already asked on Reddit and Quota but I have not received an answer. I have the original global MIUI 10.3.8 with official TWRP and root by Magisk. I received a notification on the device that an update to MIUI 11 is available. As for root, I didn't make any changes to the system. I only gave Administrator permissions for four applications. What do I have to do to install the official MIUI 11 update?
Just download the .zip of MiUI 11 and flash as usual. Dirty flash works, don't need to wipe anything. Magisk 20.0 is working, no Disable Force Encryption needed. I tested with the miui.eu ROM...

For upgrade no, you don't. Make sure you have the latest TWRP (3.3.0.0 or 3.2.3.2) as some people are having issues. I didn't tested on official Global zip, only with the miui.eu variant

TWRP will stay? After uploading the rom do not restart the device and do a TWRP flash? I have 3.3.0.0. Another thing is that I use global ROM.

Do you have experience on flashing custom roms on TWRP?! Maybe you should do some reading first...
But it's just a matter of download the miui.eu version of MIUI 11 at https://sourceforge.net/projects/xi...files/xiaomi.eu/MIUI-STABLE-RELEASES/MIUIv11/ and than install via TWRP. You'll need to download the Magisk TWRP Zip and install it as well.

[POCO F1] [Android 10] [MIUI v11] failed to install Magisk

Hello guys. My Pocophone F1 is good with latest xiaomi.eu build Android Pie MIUI 11.0.5.0 until I flashed Android 10 MIUI 11.0.4.0 on my phone. Latest Magisk 20.3 wont install after I flashed it. I tried flashing Magisk 19.3 but it ended bootlooping my device. Any solution from xda devs?
Stock rom wont boot either after flashing any magisk version
Try magisk canary build, works fine here..

Please somebody write step by step root 11.04.0
I try everything
Uninstall previous Magisk and then install again. You might need to use the Canary version. Please bear in mind that has a few cosmetic issues...

Again nothing , use magisk 20.3
Download magisk unistaller from magisk Web and flash it, then clean dalvich cache and cache, then reboot to system it Will take a minute.
After download magisk 20.3 from magisk web, reboot to twrp and flash it. If you cant install modules, reinstall magisk with direct install (recommended).
Its all, good luck.

If you want to use Xiaomi.eu build, I would suggest you to flash Miglobe rom( it is based on xiaomi.eu builds). I am currently using it with magisk 20.3 and it passes safety net also.

Hey there.
I also had the same problem as you guys. Just updated my Xiaomi Pocophone F1 from Android 9 (rooted) to Android 10, dirty flash style. Usually, when you flash the ROM, you need to flash the Magisk again. So I did that on Android 10 ROM, then I got bootloop.
Fortunately, I've found a solution. I just followed the guy post below.

I use the stock ROM and Official TWRP 3.3.0-0 for the recovery mode.
The steps I've taken to solve the problem (I assume you're already on Android 10):
Flash the Magisk Uninstaller 20200110
Wipe cache/dalvik
Reboot to system (the system should reboot successfully)
Reboot to recovery
Flash Magisk v20.3
Reboot to system
Done
The recovery will be keep replacing with the stock one. So, don't forget to flash the TWRP before booting into recovery mode, until you successfully rooted the phone.
I hope this would help you guys to solve the problem.
Hello
You can install miui 11.0.4.0 with magisk preinstalled from here:
https://mi-globe.com/miui-firmware-rom-builder-features/76/
Flash it via twrp. Recommended (probably must) format system and data before flashing.

Question Patch boot.img (Magisk)

Hi guys.
I'm on MIUI Global 12.5.1.0 RKIEUOR. Already unlocked the device and would like to root with Magisk, so I'm looking for boot.img to patch it with Magisk app, but the only rom version I can find to extract boot.img for 12.5.1.0 is RKIEUXM.
Would it matter if I use this one?
Why can't you just download twrp (I know it's in development but it works) and just flash magisk via it?

Is there really a working twrp for renoir? Having trouble finding one that works for this phone.
Scroll down for it. It has a few issues but it works. I have rooted Mi 11 Lite 5g Touchscreen may not work for a few seconds but after that it works perfectly.

My phone was is running an EMEA ROM, once the latest 12.5 update popped there was no archive version with .img files inside, so I downloaded the ROM for a different region (similar version, though), extracted the boot.img, patched it with Magisk and flashed it to the phone. Everything works fine, no issues.

22.1.5 doesn't work that way for me, by the way.
Neither with Magsik Stable/Beta, nor with Magisk Canary. Phone keeps ending in a bootloop. 21.12.29 was fine.

Sorry, I don't understand. You did root Xiaomi.eu 22.1.5 by flashing Magisk through TWRP 3.6, or by patching boot.img and flashing the patched img through Fastboot?
And by using Magisk Stable v23 or Canary 23016?
Or you tried but you got a bootloop?
In that case again, which Magisk version and by which method (TWRP or patching & flashing)?

Sorry I have no renoir yet - hence I could not test myself (asking while waiting for the phone)
With previous Weekly MIUI 13/A12 you were able to install Magisk (or this is now the first MIUI 13/A12 Xiaomi.eu Weekly)?
I.e, wondering if problem with rooting started with MIUI 13 and A12
PS: I see now also MIUI 13 Stable for renoir: xiaomi.eu_multi_MI11Lite5G_V13.0.4.0.SKICNXM_v13-12-fastboot.zip
