How do I fix this issue when it doesn't happen to either my Galaxy S7 or ROG PHONE 3? I have tried using Open Camera App from Play Store and that doesn't cause any issues at all. Is the stock camera app just faulty/buggy?

yes stock camera boosts all clocks to the max for no apparent reason, a known, long standing issue.

Anyone front facing camera flicker dark to light when using snapchat? It works fine on the app camera but on snapchat it flickers.
T-Mobile LG G5
I do have that same issue, but I'd imagine it's just the app being problematic, as long as it works properly in the main camera application I wouldn't worry. Snapchat never works 100% for me on any device, probably being that it's primarily designed for Apple. Just my .02 cents
Mine does it when i swipe to switch from main vam to selfie cam...this will surely piss me off
Snapchat is know to have issues with the g5 but is the app not being fully optimized they issued an update to fix issues with the back camera but maybe some new issues popped up.
Hi, I've run into this same weird bug on two Nexus 9s that I've used, one on (stock) Android 6.0.1 and the other on the N Preview: when I switch to another app after playing a Netflix video, the display suddenly gets incredibly glitchy and the device becomes unusably unresponsive. The only fix is to hold down the power button until the tablet reboots. This doesn't happen every time I use Netflix, but frequently.
Having seen this on two Nexus 9s (neither is rooted) running two different (stock) Android versions -- and having never encountered this before on any other device -- I was sure I'd find lots of talk about the bug online. Weirdly, I don't see any. Is anyone else seeing this? If it's just me, I imagine the bug must have to to with a nasty interaction between Netflix and some other app I'm running? (GMD? Pie Control? Glovebox?)
Thanks for any help!
Alan
I've been having this issue where by I try to launch the camera application and the app crashes. An interesting thing to note though is that when I use apps such as snapchat, the only two cameras that the app switches back and forth are the wide angle lens and the normal lens on the back. I can't even access the front facing camera. Has anyone had a similar issue? Any known fixes?
Snapchat working fine here.. G5 international version. No crashes either.
I recently switched from my Galaxy S7 Edge to a Verizon S9 plus. I have noticed my Youtube app is defaulting to 480P under all kinds of situation, including different wifi and mobile data.
I have the youtube app limit mobile data option off, I reached out to youtube help and support, and they could not figure out why.
I tested my Nexus 6P, S7 Edge and a iPhone 6s, all running on latest youtube app, none of them suffer from this problem, they all defaults to auto on the same wifi network.
Is there some setting I missed on the S9+ limiting the performance?
I can press the 3 dots on each video and change manually, but I just wonder of there is an option to avoid doing this...just being lazy.
Thanks guys.
Tmobile s9 plus here. I'm having the same problem. Allows me to change it but auto will never pick the highest dpi even with 150mbs down.
Cant say what the issue is, but I did away with YT and went with Youtube Vanced Edition right here at XDA. Works great non rooted version.
For Tmobile I recall there was this "Binge On" feature that could be the cause of 480P video.
This works great but the only trouble is my touch controls app don't work with this version.
This device have amazing camera it must have g cam
Is there any g cam for this specific divice?
If not how much time it will take to launch?
I have searched alot but cannot find for this device

The most recent stable release of MGC by BSG somewhat works (MGC_8.1.101_A9_GV2b). I'm using the com.android.mgc package, but com.google.android.GoogleCameraEng also seems to work (the two com.codeaura.* packages crash and I haven't bothered trying the com.samsung.* packages).
The issues I'm facing at the moment are:
- buffer lag
- modules 0.6 and 0.8 crash the app (and 1.7 is fixed focus so pretty useless)
- slow-mo video doesn't work
I haven't found a working Magisk module to fix the buffer lag yet, or any MGC configs for this device, so have blacklisted the non-functional modules for the time being.
I don't like the MIUI gallery, so uninstalled it with Debloater and replaced it with Google's "Gallery Go", which interfaces well. If you don't have a Google gallery app then the gallery icon will probably crash the app.
The performance is definitely better, particularly when it comes to the horrendous oversharpening of the default camera app (worst in low light). The colours are perhaps a little warm for my liking though.

Thanks!
Which stable gcam is good for that phone?
I've not found a good stable gcam for this phone yet - it has a Mediatek processor which not many gcam modders support. If you find one let us know!
Mediatek == no gcam
Found this mod of Gcam Quite good. Give it a try. I haven't faced a crash while taking photo and videos.
Gcam Link
