Samsung Galaxy J5 Pro (J530F) Binary: 8 Android: Pie (Need help!) - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I recently flashed my device with the latest firmware (Binary: 8) downloaded from sammobiles. The binary it had before flash was 6.
Now it is boot looping and would not boot up normally. It goes into recovery but it shows some errors. Please look into the attached images (both download mode and recovery mode) displaying and corresponding the exact problem.

@hainguyenthao helped on discord step by step for installing a custom ROM for normal booting of the device. As the custom ROM was buggy (/e/ ROM), I flashed stock ROM using Odin, with TWRP+no verity script+root(magisk), and got my device working and boot up to the system. Thanks for your time @hainguyenthao.

[HOW] [Mi 3] [CM 13] [ERROR: 7] How to update CyanogenMod weekly updates

My device Mi3 is running on CyanogenMod 13 and latest TWRP recovery. Unable to install weekly updates of CyanogenMod. Recently, got an update cm-13.0-20160516-NIGHTLY when i tried to install that there is an dialog box of "Apply Update" You are about to update bla bla bla... Note: This feature requires a compatible Recovery or updates will need to be installed manually. I didn't get what it means and i thought TWRP is a valid recovery so proceeded from that. After few minutes it rebooted the device top recovery and nothing happened from that. So i rebooted the system again searched over Internet about the issue haven't found any perfect solution (within what i found) but i tried by copying the update file to /sdcard (i mean root directory) and tried to install the update manually by using TWRP recovery but it is showing an error "Updater process ended with ERROR: 7 Error installing zip file '/sdcard/cm-13.0-20160516-NIGHTLY-cancro.zip' Updating partition details......done"
Can you help me out how to install the update and also tell me what I've done wrong so that i will not do that again.
Thanks in advance.

Hi @diongdyh
sorry for late reply, please help me with a step that is mentioned in the link you've given.
"Run flash_all.bat (on windows) or flash_all.sh (on OS x and Linux - it's suggested to open it from a terminal in these systems)"
Does it mean to run in cmd or what. Please help me out. If you can please elaborate that step.

Just connect your device and double click on "flash_all.bat"(I'm assuming you to be on Windows) and it'll do the rest
Well I encountered the same problem a while ago.. I just flashed miui 8 through twrp.. and booted and again flashed latest cm13 and it worked.. No problems so far..

ok i'll do the same. I doubt whether the device needs to be in fastboot mode or normal system. If you can clear this i'll proceed because previously i tried the same but in fastboot and the device is recognized i checked by 'fastboot devices'.

i've done the same @diongdyh, after selecting run something went in a flash on the desktop screen and nothing happened on my device and its still in fastboot mode. i think booting to miui 8 and then installing cm13 will be a better option as suggested by @sidhg for me as i'm not getting exactly what to do
even I am having the same problem, I nothing happpens on clicking on flash all file.........

Thanks for the answer, but it does not allow as the previous message says ... it does not allow to install any type of recovery either stock or custom ...
It does not allow to mount any partition, Boot, Recoery, etc ... from the TWRP Menu
Unlock bootloader install via command
thks
I do not think I'm spying.
1. The Bootlaoder even if it is released ... it sends you immediately to the TWRP ... once inside it says no OS installed, and it does not allow doing anything because it does not load any of the partitions.
2. Even if you release the Bootloader, it does not allow you to install another type of TWRP ... nor restore backup files ... it only allows you to flash the different OEMINFOs as if it were a rebrand.

Then you might try dc phoenix but its not free
That can install even if you have a locked bootloader firmware or even if you are bricked like your cellphone
you can download the latest firmware without problems googe it and try it (cost about 15dollar to unbrick)
If the twrp dont work cause the parameters are wrong what twrp are you using we have here 3 differents for the Huawei if im right try kingmezi twrp its working fro my l21-b432 i think it was
Thks
I managed to install another custon recovery, that allows to see the partitions, and that the team has a system ... but at the time of restart the bootloader error comes out ... and giving low CMD fastboot has the same unlocked ... perfect ... when I send the command fastboot flash (Boot, recovery, recovery2) it says Failed ... and I can not install the recovery stock.
P.S: Thanks for the advice of DC Phoenix ... I had seen it and I will try ...

If your bootloader is unlocked, try installing twrp recovery, and flash from there, it may work. If not, flash a custom 5x rom, and really enjoy your phone. The 5x is old now, no warranty now, and there are a lot of stable roms for it(I use arrows 9.0) . From lollipop, to pie now, it’s pretty indestructible.

Question Can anyone provide me the stock a16 boot img? Phone got stuck in bootloop after incremental update.

So just updated the phone into a16 version . It worked after reboot. However, after a few number of shutdowns ( like the 4th time) it got into bootloop. Had to reset the phone to get it workin but then after the 4th shutdown and reboot , the bootloop started again. Can anyone check the kernel log file. Any help woulb be appreciated. Thanks.
I have the same problem
I can provide stock A.15 for DN2103.
That's what I used to get back running after installing A.16 update.

Indian version. Made mistake by flashing the eu version which broke wifi bluetooth fingerprint. As for the problem mentioned in the thread about bootloop after full battery drain/ shutdown, even my old twrp backup is unable to fix it. Made silly mistakes along the way when performing incremental updates from v11 till v16 XD.. Thanks. Bout to install to custom pixel rom from the other thread to check it out,

How are you installed?
This recovery does not boot on the A505FN. I've tried flashing through ODIN, didn't work, bricked the device until the AP image is reflashed. The app method also did not work, but it boots into the stock ROM fine if flashed through the app.
Root implementation: Magisk 26.1

I remember getting TWRP to work on this device at some point, is there something that I am missing? Do I need to flash an older version?

You have to flash vbmeta first, there's an unofficial TWRP on this forum that has it, I used that and then reflashed the official one and it booted
I have a A505FN. It gets into a boot-loop after flashing.
EDIT: Samsung introduced some "Security patch" that made it impossible to flash this TWRP. What I needed to do is use ODIN to downgrade to the old firmware (A505FNXXS9CVJ2, got it from here: https://samfrew.com/de/download/Galaxy__A50__/lisb/DBT/A505FNXXS9CVJ2/A505FNOXM9CVG2/) first. Then I could install vbmeta.img (which is in the lineage-OS zip https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/rom-13-0-unofficial-lineageos-20-for-galaxy-a50.4589679/) and after restarting into download mode again I could install this TWRP.

So I got this phone as a gift and decided to load custom roms unto it. I upgraded to Android 11 before this. I followed your guide and unlocked bootloader etc but when I try flashing this recovery I am faced with "only official released binaries are allowed". I used samsung way back during the S2 days and enjoyed lot's of custom roms back then but for years I have been on Xiaomi phones and really do enjoy that more. Samsung really has lost it lol. Anyways can anyone help me out of this error?
