[Request] G8X Sprint SPR firmware - LG G8X ThinQ Questions & Answers

Seems there is no offical Sprint firmware, can someone make a package of it? Thanks.

How can one make a package? I'm on sprint 20j December, unlocked bootloader and magisk. I never installed twrp, because the links don't work here. I wanted to use twrp, booting using adb, instead of installing it which might make ota difficult.
Qfil lets me dump partitions but I'm not sure how to automate it, there's tons!

Check my forum by searching XDA with device name or via threads started by me on my page.
I have given a rough guide links. Also in all partitionszio, there is a text file which corresponds to device partitions. Find system portion and only flash system. It should work.
Maybe my question have no relation with the topic but it's the only one topic I found about this phone. I wanted to ask how to move app on SD card with this phone. And if it need to root the device, how to root it if anyone hae tried/succeed yet? Thanks

Root

I mean is there any possible way to root this device? I tried flashing SuperSU, didn't work. Then I tried flashing the systemmode SuperSU, got stuck in the bootloader warning text. I also tried some pre rooted Roms from the forum.. and they just won't boot. What am I missing here..??

I didn't. I had no clue what it was. I just flash recovery n install the SuperSU file with it on other phones.
Now I'll try rooting it once the nougat arrives.

Nougat could introduce more issues (e.g. Xposed doesn't work with Nougat as of today... Magisk & SuperSU... who knows?) but in theory steps should be the same...
More: this is unknown to most (and I don't have a clear explanation for it... only some hypothesis...) but even TWRP could have issues...
On another phone I've found (only one time to be honest... ) that an updated firmware required an updated TWRP to have it working (older one simply doesn't booted anymore even if reflashed...)

I don't like OTAs at all... I'll prefer going with flashing full images by fastboot (if stock images) or TWRP (if custom ROMs or zip flashable version of stock images...).
They are safer and cleaner than OTAs...

Are you able to restore all the changes you made to /system, to successfully install the next OTA-update?
Or you just reflash the whole stock image before the next ota?

Probably it could be possible to restore all as stock from my backups, but I will surely update (when I'll decide to...) using fastload or TWRP (depending of image formats...) as you said...

LG Aristo 2 Plus - Owner Needed

To anyone that bought a T-Mobile Aristo 2 Plus (not the standard Aristo 2 since I think they're different), let me know if you'd be willing to help me out here. I'm building a ROM for my friend's but he doesn't want anything unstable on it. If anyone would mind lending me a hand, I need someone to send builds to so they can test them out.

The image shared previously in this thread is for M210, it does not flash using LGUP on above device.

I'll try anything out problem with this phone is space. Look at the picture. The xppsed mod for camera whatever its called and the slow mo of same one work well. However I cannot get a boot animatione to work on it no matter what I do like I can erase everything flash 10 random romss kernels and whatever and itll boot like a champ. Hi. I want to root My OP7T Pro. Im on 10.0.11.hd01ba software. I have tried some guides here but ended up in bootloops. Most of the guides here is written for the AA global software not the BA European software. I wonder if there is someone who has succesfully rooted this device and/or managed to install twrp. And if there is a working patched boot.img flying around here?.
Thanks in advance.

I'm not disagreeing with you there.
My comment more comes from my opinion that many XDA users are relatively new and can't for the life of everyone read and read some more (or follow directions for that matter). There's a good chance they end up downloading the wrong file and getting into a mess.

I agree with what you said here, that's why in this situation, I show him how to flash first, then if the user shows interest, I will obviously show how can he make ALL the process for himself.
I've seen to many junior members reading all the "hard work" and just saying "F*** this, I will just try to find automated way..."

Have you tried Odin to do the flashing? While not the same device, I have rooted my SM-A526B without TWRP by patching the boot image with Magisk and then copying over the patched boot.img file to a computer, then finally flashed it over using Odin.
I have played with TWRP and Odin in the past with other phones; But I don't feel comfortable experimenting with this phone since it's my only source of work right know. After the process is proved ok by other people with the exact same model as mine, I can't risk experimenting like I have done other times.

This won't work on Samsung "U" variant phones because of their locked bootloader. Once you modify boot.img with Magisk, the phone will automatically detect it as custom firmware and it won't allow it to be flashed because of locked BL.
