Flash Open Firmware from other Country into Spanish Retail version - Motorola Edge + (2020) Questions & Answers

Greetings to all fellow users and community,
I just bought an Spanish Retail version for Edge+, but I'm using it for Mexico carriers. The version I've bought is for TIM carrier. Would I brick my moto Edge+ if I manually flash Stock Firmware from Mexico (Open Version or Retail Version) ?
Any comments and advise is appreciated
Cheers!

Thanks for so quick response, appreciate it. That wouldn't be problem since I already have bootloader unlocked for flashing. My concerns would be bricking the phone due to differences in basebands or vendor files, for example.

As long as it's the same model # it should work, you will see a warning when the device boots.

You can just flash the radio firmware, it is a little safer.
Flashing the Radio Firmware

it's a good idea to run
Code:
fastboot getvar all
before flashing anything and keep a copy of it, for reference later.

Hey it's me again,
What would be the difference between using lenovo's rescuing app against the manual procedure using fastboot?
I come from xiaomi, where to be able to replace partitions like Vendor, you should put the phone in EDL mode in order to be able to flash/replace those partitions...
Wonder if with moto edge+ there's some considerations in place...
Thanks again

The advantage of LMSA is automation and access.
LMSA can check the device, determine the correct firmware, and download that firmware from a Motorola Server.
All the other sources of firmware are 3rd party.
LMSA can use the included flashfile.xml that contains the recommended flash commands.
Flashing manually with fastboot.exe requires opening the flashfile.xml and figure out the correct commands.

There's been very little development using Moto EDL mode.
It's almost exclusively used with a blankflash to rescue the device.

[Q] How to unlock bootloader on excatly this phone?

Hello guys,
I tried to unlock my bootloader a few weeks ago and it was horrible, so i sent it to service and they sent me a brand new phone. But i want to unlock bootloader and i don't know what files use excatly on this model. Can you help me?
Sys. info : ver.: 45.31.20.MB860.Vodafone.en.EU
Android stock 2.3.4
build num.: 4.5.2A-74_OLE-31.20
root: yes
unlocked bootloader: no
What exactly is so confusing here?
Clearly you need to use the ihop version. The rest of the process is the same for every Atrix out there.

Guide
IHOP bootloader
Unlocking the bootloader doesn't always work (depends on the device and some other things), but I can't imagine a situation where a failed unlock would require taking the phone to the service center...
Ok, i'll try it tomorrow thanks....but when it fails ? ...last time it said me "failed to boot 2" ...
Did you actually read the whole procedure? Because it doesn't seem like you did.
Yes, I did....then i tried to search far on the google and i found that i am not alone with thi problem. Many people is saying, that is unable to unlock this bootloader...:/
http://mobility.forumsee.com/a/m/s/p12-9847-0229151--atrix-bootloader-unable-unlock.html
"Failed to boot" is a perfectly normal and expected part of the unlock process and everyone gets it. All you have to do is boot into fastboot mode and flash a custom recovery, then use that to flash a ROM. I don't know why you went to Google, literally all you need is here on XDA.
I used this guide to unlock 4 Atrix boot-loader so far including my own http://atrix4ghacks.com/atrix-4g-hacks/how-to-unlock-bootloader-and-install-permanent-recovery/
Ok, I will try it now ....
EDIT: it still gives me that OEM unlock is not implemented...
Either you didn't flash the IHOP SBF correctly, or you have one of those newer Atrixes that cannot be unlocked.

But motorola atrix 4g isn't supported :/
The only thing you can do is join the crowd of people who have the same problem which has yet to be solved. There is nothing you can do right now to unlock your device.
I know that pain.. I am an Atrix owner too, who owns a newer one..
I don't think that we will see them unlocked, because a lot of devs already moved on and there are now just a few Atrix owners..

Moto E xt1528 Hard bricked Qhs Usb dload

I have one xt1528 having some software issues it was flashed to another carriers rom so the radio doesn't work
So I decided it to flash it to xt1528
And I flashed this firmware
XT1528_SURNIA_VERIZON_5.1_LPI23.29-17.5_cid2_subsidy-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip
After that the phone doesn't boot its dead
Now showing qhs usb bulk on device manager
Note that this device bootloader is engineering
Can anyone have a solution to recover my phone
I flashed many moto E on engineering bootloader but this is the one that was bricked
Br,

Same here, we need the LATEST rom firmware LPI23.29-17.5-7 released on 11/16. What happens is that when another gpt.bin is flashed on a bootloader locked model it messes everything up. The only way to save it I think is when a NEWER gpt.bin version of the correct model is flashed over so that the correct boot.img will take.

In this bootloader you can flash whatever even you flash the firmware of any other motorola model that's why its too dangerous
Actually those phone's have motorola factory firmware which is used only for checking the phone after manufacturing in factory like samsung combination files but for motorola its not available publicly
Only moto factory have those bootloaders and firmware

Realme 7 RMX2155 Bootloader Unlock Or Roll-Back?

Hello there.
I am aware that - at the moment - the global version of this phone cannot be unlocked. I'd just like to know when - if ever - the bootloader will be able to be unlocked, and if I can still roll-back to earlier versions of Android with SP Flash Tools (I really don't like how restrictive Android 11 is. Shame on Google.).
Thanks.

What are you asking exactly? If you are asking if the apk method of boot-loader unlocking works for this model: It does not. I am not exactly sure why, though.
I have the same model.
No bootloder unlock.
Tryed different region, flashed different ROM model. No luck.
Rollback a11 to a10 work with this update from recovery.

ONE CLICK ROOTING TOOLS

Is there any one click rooting tools that work with Android 9 - 11? Preferably 10 - 11. I want to root my droid (I have an AT&T LG G8 Thinq) and I don't want to unlock my bootloader. Please don't say "C'mon dude just unlock your bootloader", I'm looking for an actual answer(s) here. Spyware or not. By one click root tool I mean something like a tool that you can press a or a few buttons and it roots your handset. Yes I'm aware many of great old ones are spyware.

It is possible to have LinageOS with a locked bootloader. You can relock it and revert back to stock recovery, so people can not flash anything to bypass your lock screen. This is very common for OnePlus devices. You can sell it and buy a OnePlus, throw your phone.
For example:

No, you just need a OnePlus device. OnePlus allows a self-signed signature, you can generate it yourself, and no leak is required.

Only works with some OnePlus devices. You can sign your ROM with your self-signed certificate. You can modify your ROM to whatever you want(including root) then just sign it, flash it, and re-lock. The bootloader now checks your self-signed certificate.
I don't think your needs can be fulfilled with your current device, maybe you have to sell your device.

So basically with a OnePlus I could just flash whatever I want and relock as long as the ROM is flashed LAST?
Also what's so hard about getting a signature? Why can't someone just pull it from the existing stockROM and put it on a their own ROM, so they can relock an Xperia or LG or something with a custom ROM?

Yes, and you also need to build and sign the ROM with your self-signed key and flash the custom key to the partition via the following

You can not simply use the prebuilt ROM downloaded from somewhere and re-lock, it will not work because it is not signed with your self-signed key.

lol, impossible. If what you said is possible, then SSL will be a piece of * because everyone can pull the signature simply by visiting a site. You need to learn what is "private key" and "public key". You need a "private key" to sign a thing and that private key is secret.
OK, so the solution is... Break into LG headquarters and obtain the key signatures and spread'em all for the world to see!
The less exciting options include infiltration or bribery...
