Is there any working mods for this ancient piece of technology?
Android 6+ would be good enough

Just curious, since Dell Venue and Venue Pro are almost identical, what would be the likely hood to install some kind of rom on the Venue Pro to run Android? I sure like me that physical keyboard.
bump...man I'd pay some good money to have this done.
I've started a Bounty on Android on the DVP here:

Greetings. I'm a newbie on modificating the system and want to learn.
i love my Dell Streak 5 alot and i wont change it with any current devices.
It feels great on my hand and seems strong.
recently i fell in love too with Galaxy Note OS.
Is it posible to have Dell Streak 5 as the devices but with Galaxy Note System and application?
if its possible, what is the first thing to do to have that "Dell treak 5 Note"?
on stylus
i'm sure there are ways to port the samsung applications, but the Galaxy Note has a special screen that allows the capacitive stylus to work really accurately. the Streak 5 doesn't have that resolution
Picked up 2 Venue 8 (3830) a few weeks ago. Don't care for the dell kitkat version much at all..
I was surprised unable to find any developers working on the venue 8?
Anyone know of any ROMS for these?
THX- happy holidays

howerer the devs over at the samsung galaxy tab 3 10.1 (same soc intel z2580) forum managed to boot a cm11 built, so maybe we will get cm11 or 12 soon
Cool thanks... Fingers Crossed
Well I rooted my tab and being using xposed. Feels like a custom ROM.
we are still struggling in developing the cwm.I doubt we will get any custom rom this year
I have a few devices that my family uses, namely a Dell Venue 7 3730 tablet with 4.4 KitKat & a Samsung Tab 4 SM-T230NU tablet with 4.2 KitKat. Both devices had received limited support from both their developers and the XDA community (due to both devices having a small market share). I figure that both these tablets aren't worth the money from selling them (the Venue 7 was free and the Tab 4 was a gift, yet neither are worth the little amount of money I could get).
My question is this: is there a way for me to get the source code for a "generic" Android device with Marshmallow or Nougat. And port it to these devices? If this is possible, what do I need to do, and are there conversion/porting guides out there that I can learn from?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
I found that Android 11 is much worse compared to Android 10 regarding responsiveness of the Galaxy S7?... What do you think about this? I don't see what is the advantage of Android 11 (I see only disadvantages...)
