If I buy a at&t sim card, can i use it for software update roaming out side U.S.?
Im still in LM-V600AM10p...
I am facing the same problem, as far as I understand, all we have left is for someone who owns AT&T to capture OTA update url so that we can update manually.

I have an LG V60 Unlocked AT&T version.
So, I can't receive Android 11 in Uruguay using another carrier company sim card?

if u are in the U.S., considering borrow att sim from friends.
From att official forum, someone said that we need a att sim in phone and connect to att tower, so i cant get update outside att service coverage, but how about the roaming in other countries?
Can we guess the update url from known lg att phones?
I'm in the EU, so outside the US.
my v60 is now in the US, coming back with android 11, my friend has ATT he also lives in the EU.

I'm not sure whether it works in roaming I'll be able to know for sure only with the next patches because I am not 100% sure.
as far as I understand so far that the inserted sim card activated service and linked up to the IMEI and phone number and must be located in the US and be connected to ATT towers and done one android update, the first time if the phone is upgraded in the US every next one it should able to in roaming with the same card.
so it’s a little tricky for us who aren’t in the US and expensive, so it's best for someone to picture updae url who is in the US at least it's not hard for someone who have v60.

that's right,
we need someone who is already in the US who has not updated to android 11, it is not necessary to fully download the update, it is important to just start the download to capture OTA url than can cancel downloading.

Well, we need to wait for that "angel" who will capture that URL.
I'll try not to buy an AT&T or whatever other phone depends on a specific carrier.
Thanks for your information!!! I'll stay tuned here.

well, i bought a att prepaid card month ago, from US to China Mainland still shipping.
If there is someone who has the ATT sim and is in the USA and has not updated so far on android 11 please contact me.
Would it work if I had a VPN and the prepaid AT&T card? My thinking is that the update comes across wifi anyway, so if I VPN there's no way AT&T servers would know I'm not in the US.

Hi guys.
I just unlocked my AT&T Lumia 920, but the Internet Sharing feature doesn't work. It says I need the tethering enabled on AT&T. Is there anyway around this to get it enabled? I'm obviously not using an AT&T SIM.
Thanks
Unfortunately NO.

Unfortunately, NO. I think this is built into the ROM. You might have to Flash one of those European ROMs to have it enabled.
Thats what I did.

You flashed an EU ROM onto an AT&T Lumia 920? Which one? Does this mess up anything regarding radio support?

Looks like the color doesn't matter. I confirmed with NaviFirm that different color firmwares share the same .ffu. And I've seen numerous reports when people flashed non-ATT firmware into Cyan ATT phone and didn't have any issues.
---------- Post added at 07:26 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:18 PM ----------
I've installed Rogers pre-Portico firmware on my ATT Lumia 920 (RM820_1232.2109.1242.1002_RETAIL_nam_canada_200_02_100347_prd_signed.ffu), installed Access Point app, and Internet Sharing was working just fine (I'm on Telus, Canada). But overnight the phone installed all the latest updates (currently on 1232.5957.1308.0000) and Internet Sharing is no longer working. When I go to Access Point app and try selecting one of the two default profiles (Telus and Koodo), it immediately exits the app and shows all profiles as inactive. If I manually enter profile settings, I'm able to select it, but it still doesn't seem to work - when I go to Internet Sharing and try enabling it, I get "Internet Sharing isn't currently available" error.
Does anyone know how to work around this?
Ok, I seem to have been able to get Internet Sharing back on. I had to hard reset the phone (through About->Reset option). After that I installed the Access Point app again and everything seems to be working. Apparently updates somehow mess up Access Point app.
Now I need to figure out how to get LTE to work on Telus and possibly get the phone working on Wind/Mobilicity...

I flashed my unlocked AT&T Lumia 920 to Euro Dev (RM821_059R4H6_1232.5957.1308.0002_027) and was able to enable Internet Sharing feature. I am on AT&T GoPhone and selected an APN named "AT&T 3G", which is built in the SIM card, from Access Point app. I am not sure what the exact setting is.

Just remember that with gophone your data is not unlimited. You either have 2GB or 5GB a month. I forget which as I think gophone will actually make you pay more then an outright contract in the long run. I want to say it is a 2GB limit. So even if you do have LTE you can't use more than 2GB a month. If you do they hit you for 10 bucks a GB you go over. Or on gophone they may just cut off your data till it renews next month.
Effective June 21st, the only data add-on package available for the $50 and $25 plans will be the $5 for 50MB. The $65 monthly plan will be able to add $10 for 1GB. A total of 3 Gigs can be stacked onto that plan within a month.

Edit: it's at $250!

Works great on t-mobile. 20 megs down!
Only problem I am having is that I have been unable to update to lollipop.
This is most likely due to the fact that I have a t-mobile sim in there instead of an AT&T one

just made a thread with a questiong about this i hope they delte it now but i am ordering one of these now and was wondering about the tmobile situaton as well.. Will i get the update to lolipop with a tmobile sim? also will i still have fast lte speeds? im getting like 50 down in lansing and detroit area . The reaso i ask is becasue i found this post on amazon in the coments
CONS for T-Mobile users! And these are Deal Breakers for me.
* 4G LTE is ultra SLOW! While the symbol shows 4G LTE, the speed is just good 3G speeds. My max was 5 to 6 Mbps down and about the same up. Compared to my S2 and S3 on the exact same spot on my desk, get 15-20 Mbps on the S2 and 25-30+ Mbps on my S3!
* Hotspot feature will NOT work on T-Mobile. This has been confirmed by me calling AT&T, T-Mobile, and Samsung support lines. If you need your T-Mobile hotspot service, then this phone is a no go. (NOTE: the XDA forum and other sites have a hack that requires you to root the phone and then do multiple steps each time you want to enable the hotspot, this is a deal breaker for me

It has to be on AT&T to be updated.
Its realy rave! Many people need firmware Nougat for H820 AT&T, really need KDZ or TOT File.
If i have AT&T sim, but i am in Ukraine, can i receive OTA?
I just did it!
I went to ebay and bought an ATT Go! phone sim card. Was about $2 shipped.
I then went to ATT Go! phone website and activated the card. All you need to enter is an email address and your zip code. You also enter in the sim card number (on the sim card) and the IEMI of your phone.
Then it will ask you to pick your plan. It doesn't matter which one you pick because you're not going to pay for it anyway.
SUBMIT! and it takes a few minutes, but then it will say you are activated. Then you can put the sim card in your phone. Wait about 5 minutes before you try to "check for update" on your phone. If it says "no update, please check in 24 hours" just change the date on your phone to tomorrow. Check for update again, and it should work.
After 25 days, the sim card will deactivate, because you didn't put money on the account. When this happens, the sim card is trash, no longer will work ever. Just use it as a tiny coaster.

Hi guys, anybody here using the unlocked version of LG G6? I preordered mine off BH Photo Video and it arrived yesterday.
Was browing the threads and forums and haven't seen any regarding the unlocked version. My carrier is AT&T but I hate carrier phones since my experience with AT&T LG G5.
I saw lots of threads about how to access the hidden menu and stuff and tried it myself but didn't work so I was hoping some of you here uses the unlocked version and knows how to do that stuff.
Thanks!

Nope. LG did something stupid again like they did with the G4. They made the us cellular version and us unlocked version the exact same model number. I thought they had learned because with the G5 they differentiated the model number for the us unlocked version, but they went back to old habits I guess. So there are two variants of the us997:
US997: US cellular
US997: USA unlocked variant

Yea because on LG's website for redeeming the promo, the unlocked version and US cellular had different tabs. Do you have any idea how I access the hidden menu on USA unlocked?

No sorry, don't have the device so can't test. Maybe try putting a 0 in front of behind the 997 though, not sure. I'm guessing they wanted to differentiate the access code for the two different software versions but not sure. The code should be what was posted just different would be the 997 part.
I am using a US 997 on at&t without issues at all without the need to go in the hidden settings menu

Just noticed you posted that you tried:
Code:
*#546638#*997#
It should be:
Code:
*#546368#*997#
At least from my research that 2nd code should work

Not sure then
I have read through many threads and I cannot find a direct answer. As it is stated in the title I have the Galaxy unlocked s9+that I bought from Samsung. I am currently on AT & T network because T-Mobile is terrible here in North Carolina where I am currently living. Can I flash ATT firmware on this unlocked version of the S9 plus and use Wi-Fi calling and volte? If there is a definite yes to this question then I will try to find the ATT firmware the flash on this phone.

The answer is yes.
The firmware can be found pretty easy by looking in the forums or by looking on sammobile.com
Also, make sure you are flashing the same version of firmware. So if your device last digits are ARF4, then you want to flash the ARF4 AT&T firmware.
I have a question for this unlocked version from samsung.com. i I use it with Tmobile is the wifi calling, Volte, will work out of the box? or i have to do the same thing as flashing tmobile firmware? and also if I flash do i have to root? TIA. and also if there is already a thread for this question kindly post the link.

Yes if you use it on T mobile, the wifi, Volte will work out of the box. I was on T Mobile but because of coverage I had to switch to Att.

FYI Sammobile requires premium account for fast download and with free account download speed is throttled to 15kbps. Try https://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model for the firmwares with fast download.

Since this is an unlocked phone not purchased from ATT, WiFi calling and other features wont work even on a regular post pay account. I had to call ATT and give them my IMEI from my previous ATT branded s8+ before wifi calling and smart caller ID and other features would work. I told them it was an ATT phone that i purchased at Best Buy and i read about WiFi calling problem in a forum and that using a different IMEI worked for others. The tech said it's worth a try and she changed it and ive been good to go ever since. I fumbled around the question of "is this an unlocked phone?" i said no, it has ATT logo (it does at boot, but not on the back lol) and i purchased it for ATT. That was good enough for them.
Many others with unlocked U1 phones have done the same thing and ATT has changed IMEI on their side. It doesnt change your phones physical IMEI, just their end. I saw a post where one operator said they wouldnt or couldnt do that. If they tell you no, call back you'll likely get a different person and they might change it. Main thing is you have to have an IMEI from an ATT branded phone that supports the same features (s8,s7,s6, etc) Luckily for me i have a like new s8+. It's worth much more than what they offer for trade in so i kept it. Glad i did.
Yes, I saw those posts as well but currently I do not have an ATT branded phone. So, I went and put the unlocked firmware back on the phone and I will just keep it the way it is. If the new iPhone that is coming out has the T-Mobile band 71, I probably will jump back to the iPhone. This was my first Android in about 4 years. I am kind of disappointed that it won't work.
